Then started following Wimbledon as the only team in sarf London..couldn't bring myself to follow West Ham or Hackney norf of the river , or the two other W clubs,Wembley and White City, who rode in later years . Moved to Swindon in '67 .

  13. Didn't James Cockle and his old man and a few mechanics go into the crowd at Plough Lane for a punch-up with Dons fans ? Remember seeing Oxford and Swindon fans fighting at a local derby at Cowley in the 70s .
  14. Seats at Wembley wouldn't be any cheaper...and Swindon is halfway between Cardiff and Wembley . Can't afford the hotel anyway ,always travel there and back sameday and pay for the cheapest seat .
  15. Pete Munday of Swindon smacking Anders Michanek in the pits at Blunsdon .

  21. Always remember the team of '67...Dugard , Hedge , Luckhurst , Nygren etc., and Briggo easily winning either a British final or semi-final that year ?

Hitchy was one of my favourites, a real battler....partner to the great Briggo in the late 60s . Heard he has ill health now . Pete Munday always seemed to score a maximum in the wet...last I heard he was living in his native Southampton area , in the motor trade , although i'm sure Rob Bamford will inform if incorrect . Keener still lives in Upper Minety , Killer in the Swindon area . Martin Ashby still has his motor cycle repair business in Marlborough . Barry Duke still lives in Penhill ,stilll attends the Abbey . Broady is a regular ,still lives locally has a building business . The great man Briggo attends the occasional meeting . Don't know about Pete Jackson though ? Great team and great characters...half were local lads who took great pride in wearing the Robin , and the last team to bring the title to Wiltshire 40 years ago .
