  1. 13 Greg Hancock 10 Nicki Pedersen 9 Jason Crump 9 Andreas Jonsson TEAM GB = Chris Harris & Scott Nicholls ........ 10
  2. I hope that Smederna cone into next season's Swedish Elite League, as they are my Swedish team
  3. Shame that the British elite league don't have a final night with all teams riding as this makes brilliant TV with all these permutations
  4. You could be right just rewatched the race and Ljung didn't put his left foot on the track Thanks for the info
  5. Nicely done by Ljung over Holder. Last heat decider but whoever has gate 4 has a lot of work to do. Coin toss to win the meeting.
  6. 10 Andreas Jonsson 9 Emil Sayfutdinov 7 Antonio Lindback 7 Kenneth Bjerre
  7. Not sure about Polish qualifiers in 1973 for their four riders, have to check up on this. I know that Poland ran qualifiers for their riders for the 1970 World Final. You would have the best riders in the GPs as they are the one's that would have qualified. Maybe some surprise names but at least they would have earned their places. Not much you could do with racing surface I think, as I doubt if they would change the racing surface. Ruts happen at all tracks even though at the starting gates last night they were very deep. Totally agree with you the people who run the GP's have too much power. The old Grand Prix Challenge was great meeting, as it gave everyone a chance to qualify for next season's GP meetings. Would the crowd go down if there was no British rider in the GPs it would be disappointing not to have a British rider, but I think people will turn up and watch the meeting. And of course the meeting will still be on TV not matter what riders are in the event, so no loss of TV money there.
  8. I know - some of the World Champions in the 1950s were. But you would still have this, with the top eight GP riders being seeded in 2013 as normal. A top seven or eight from a GP Challenge like it used to be would freshen-up the GP series every year, with every rider having to earn the place.
  9. Sorry I have to disagree with there. I remember the day when all riders had to qualify for World Finals. Occasionally very good riders did miss the World Finals due to injury, but I also remember riders riding in severe pain just to ride in these qualifying rounds. Darcy Ward, didn't even bother with the GP qualifiers this season, so why should he have a pick in front of all the riders, that made an effort to qualify for GP's in 2013. He maybe a great rider and I would love to see him as a full-time GP rider, but surely all riders should be treated the same otherwise you have inequality. This is just my opinion. Anyway top three in the GP Challenge is unfair a rider could have a engine failure that would stop him from qualifying. Have seven places in a meeting with the bottom seven GP riders and the top nine from Groican would eliminate this problem.
  10. They should bring back the Grand Prix Challenge as it used to be. The bottom seven from 2012 Grand Prix's should race against the top nine for the Grand Prix Challenge, in Groican, for seven or eight places in Grand Prix 2013. Anything else makes a mockery of a World Championship. Get rid of the Grand Prix 2013 picks. 2012 Grand Prix Challenge Finalist Ales Dryml (Czech Republic) Krysztof Kasprzak (Poland) Peter Ljung (Sweden) Martin Vaculik (Slovakia) Troy Batchelor (Australia) Niels-Kristian Iversen (Denmark) Davey Watt (Australia) Michael Jepsen Jensen (Denmark) Grzegorz Walasek (Poland) Adrian Miedzinski (Poland) Antonio Lindback (Sweden) Leon Madsen (Denmark) Martin Smolinski (Germany) Hans Andersen (Denmark) Matej Zagar (Slovenia) Jurica Pavlic (Croatia) wild card for the meeting most likely My top nine qualifiers are in BOLD these verses the bottom seven Grand Prix riders would make a brilliant meeting
  11. Maybe the Premier Sports TV man don't know about Crump's broken collarbone. Ghostwalker, do you know the reason for the change in TV meting tonight?
  12. 7 Fredrik Lindgren 5 Kenneth Bjerre 4 Jurica Pavlic WC 3 Chris Harris
  13. Tuesday's TV match looks interesting. Troy Batchelor riding at number 7 could be the key for Hammarby winning the meeting. But I will be cheering on Vargarna as they deserve some good fortune, after the season they have had. Many thanks for the updates Ghostwalker
  14. The Speedway World Cup for 2012 is now done and dusted, for another year. So what will we remember from this years competition. Will we remember it for the way Russia won and beat Poland in their our backyard in event one - no. Will we remember it for the way Great Britain pushed the pre-tournament favourites Australia all the way in event two - no. Will we remember it for the way Denmark won the race off and knocking 2011 World Champions Poland out the competition - no. Will we remember it for the way the two Danish under 21 riders superbly performed to help their nation in the final to win the competition - no. Whether you like it or not the 2012 Speedway World Cup will be remembered in years too come, only as the final where riders deliberately stop racing, so a team couldn't gain an extra points advantage, because of this stupid joker rule. A real travesty I think. FIM please listen to the speedway riders and supporters (who pay their entrance money) no-one wants this stupid rule, so get rid of it. As the joker rule has now become a farce and the Speedway World Cup along with it.
  15. The joker rule is aptly named I think. Just get rid of the thing. And, if riders are not at racing speed and are not riding to win points, then exclude them, that would put a stop to any tactical riding.
  16. Here are my selections for the final. Sweden (37) Andreas Jonsson 13 Fredrik Lindgren 11 Thomas H Jonasson 8 Peter Ljung 5 Denmark (35) Nicki Pedersen 12 Michael Jepsen Jensen 11 Niels-Kristain Iversen 10 Leon Madsen 2 Australia (31) Chris Holder 12 Jason Crump 7 Troy Batchelor 6 Davey Watt 6 Russia (22) Emil Sayfutdinov 15 Grigory Laguta 5 Artem Laguta 1 Roman Povazhny 1 Thanks for the game T.N.T.
  17. Not literally as that would be daft - but it's a something that Sky might saying in promoting it. I would also like to see test matches against Australia, Poland, Sweden and Denmark. Playing each nation on a rota basis. Different nation each year. It could really help, our young riders.
  18. Should be a great meeting. I was thinking about a test match between Great Britain and Australia only this morning, before I saw this. In 2013 the Aussies are in England playing for the ashes, in cricket. It would be brilliant to have a full five match test series against them around the dates of these cricket test games. After all that was the idea of the very first test matches, in 1930. I'm sure that if the BSPA started organising this soon and also got Sky involved (with TV coverage) they could help in the promotion of them. Such talk as taking on the Aussies with 'Bat & Bike' or 'Ball & Bike' etc I think it would be a terific success especially after we pushed them so hard, on Monday night.
  19. My Race-Off Team Is 8 Krzysztof Buczkowski 10 Neils K Iversen 10 Nicki Pedersen 9 Michael Jepsen Jensen Great Britain will score 35 points
  20. The Danes may be favourites for the Race-Off. But I remember Australia in 1976, Denmark in 1978 and New Zealand in 1979 so why shouldn't we believe that we could make it to the final, and hopefully win it. We pushed the so-called favourites for the competition on Monday night. And if we had just a little bit of luck on Monday we would be in the final now.
  21. I have said on this forum for many years, that the joker should be either scrapped or all teams to have a joker, which (nowadays) to be used between heats 5-16. Why can't all teams have a reserve that could be used just like in the old World Team Cup and numerous four team tournaments, in the past. Allowing the reserve to ride at any time. This would stop a team getting a rider to feign an injury.
  22. Hi TNT Just to point this out to you. I will do my team later on. DENMARK Peter Ljung Peter Ljung is Swedish
  23. Nice race jackets. I would like too see all teams in the SWC and Grand Prix's to have a sizeable national flag, on the front, of their jackets, just like in the old days. But whether this would happen I doubt, which is a great shame. Riders national flags on race jackets have got so small nowadays that it not worth having them. I know that sponsors names are important, but so is your national flag. Plus it looks so much better, I think. Quite simply the top nine riders from the Grand Prix Challenge Final should race against the bottom seven riders from the GPs. With the top seven or eight going into the following years Grand Prix series. Every rider, should earn their right to be in the GPs. If this means no British rider in the GP's then so be it. Maybe then the people in control of British speedway might finally get round to sorting the problem out, with our riders. They are capable of beating the world's best which they do in the various European leagues, but something is wrong when they ride in GPs or the SWC (hopefully not year's SWC). Maybe one of best riders of the past can offer them some advise in how to achieve this. And if any country has a very strong list of current riders then why so they be denied their opportunity, of becoming World Champion. The best riders should be racing in the GPs regarldess of their Nationality otherwise the GPs will become nothing more then a 'Mickey Mouse' World Championship.
  24. I think that the new format is very good. Especially now all teams in each block of four heats have red, blue, white and yellow once only. Far better then the old format when you had either had the inside or outside gates, in the block of five heats. But a reserve should be allowed. Just like in the old WTC with them being able to take rides any time they wish. Upto a maximum of six rides. Also the joker should be scrapped, or give all teams a joker to use between heats 5-16.
  25. I will have Event One Artem Laguta Mikkel B Jensen Greg Hancock Michael Jepsen Jensen Event Two Kevin Wolbert Ales Dryml Danny King Davey Watt N.B. I have replaced Janusz Kolodziej with Mikkel B Jensen as Janusz won't be riding,
