If you do go from the airport to the city on the bus then underground watch out for the "Mafia Boys" who say they are going to help you and even pay for your ticket but try to rob you so hide your wallets and purses folks!! Don't wear a bum bag with them in as they can easily get into them. Lovely country, great people, superb cheap beer and food, gorgeous ladies --but a rogue element to beware of too!!

Lonigo Travel
Main Man replied to creetingblue's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If you are looking for accomodation I suggest you get on to it quick. From what Armando Castagna told us the other week when we were there for the World U-21 semi there are no hotels in the Lonigo area left!! -
Yes it was an unbelievable ride but he came down and was excluded in his last ride . Still went on to win the final though. Congrats to Wrighty ("any tomato ketchup with it ??" --private joke from the few days we were all together at Armando Castagna's!!) and bad luck on Ed with only 7 qualifying from this semi. Must admit never finished a speedway meeting so late --and so hot!! With two Americans to look after in the end with Brian Yarrow getting five rides due to two riders pulling out, as well as Chris Kerr , it was a bit hectic but enjoyable!!

9pm start (nice late finish --then a drive back to Milan to get a morning plane back to UK for me!!)
-
Brilliant atmosphere at Hyde Road. I really enjoyed announcing there --doing an Aces war-cry was awesome with everyone stamping their feet and making so much noise!! The racing was absolutely breath taking --watching the likes of Mort, PC, Chris Pusey, Wilky, Paul Tyrer etc hurtling round there. Like Cradley -happy, happy memories!!

Tickets Under 21-world Championship Final
Main Man replied to Nina's topic in International World of Speedway
Thanks Nina . I am hoping that a certain Chris Kerr can make it through from Lonigo --so the hotel details (I hope!!) will come in handy!! -
Good luck to Daniel .
-
Thanks GreyhoundP -- already on the case plus hoping to have some "local" help as we did in Cz where Mario Jirout was absolutely superb for Chris.
-
So do I Chris!! It is a tough one and having eight places would make it a tad easier !!
-
By this then surely the "weaker" semi should only have the seven qualifiers ???
-
Will do Fentigerslad --as for where next year wait and see !!! It is not just me behind him in "Team Kerr" with Ian Hewlett and Steve Norman doing a great job as well. That line-up at Lonigo looks awesome but we are sure it will not phase Chris , who will once again do his best as he always does!! Now to get planning for June 18th now we know we are off to Italy! (Thanks Tomas for the e-mail)
-
Thanks Tomas --you have my e-mail address as well if you can send me them so I can start the travel arrangements for Chris . Thanks Laurence
-
Tomas --you are always in the know. If Rye House are saying that King and Allen are at Lonigo has the draw been done ??? Jorgen Jensen told me Tuesday or Wednesday for the draw. If it has can you please let me know where Chris Kerr is so I can start the travel arrangements!! Thanks

U21 Qualifier Pardubice 21/5/05
Main Man replied to Main Man's topic in International World of Speedway
Thanks!!! -
I know that the two USA places at Pardubice on Saturday will be filled by Jason Boyle and Chris Kerr but any one have any idea of the other 14 riders ? The listings show 2 x Czech ; 2 x Russia; 2 x German; 2 x Poland; 1 x Latvia; 2 x Hungary; 1x UA ; 1 x Finland; The Dutch have Rene van Weele The listing shows Christian Hefenbrock and Mattias Schultz as the two Germans. Would love to know before I fly out Thursday morning ==with Chris leaving Weds night with Ian Hewlett , Steve Norman and Brian Dalen by road. Thanks

Despite having done the job myself for many years (and still a spring chicken!!) my favourite is Edwin Overland --always on top form, articulate, knowledgable and a nice guy too!!! Craig Saul is another who does a top class job and always does his homework thoroughly on the riders.

definitely sounds like Lord Rattenbury of Rushall!!!
