IainB
As it's Will Aid's free wills November month: https://www.willaid.org.uk/ I was looking into the options of of leaving my (tiny) fortune to the SRBF in a will and found some interesting reading from various sources... if you find that kind of thing interesting of course (which I do) https://www.srbf.co.uk/donate https://www.srbf.co.uk/events/track-collections https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-search/-/charity-details/208733/charity-overview
GS550
This is what the BSPL promoters should have put their £1,000 a head into instead of going on a holiday jolly to Tenerife.
IainB
Listening to the commentary on tonight's Scunny Worky match and one of them mentioned that some of the new starting gate guards, which are compulsory for all speedway meetings with fixed starting gates, have been provided to British tracks by the Benevolent Fund, 13 apparently including one to the chairman of BSPL! Is this a valid use of SRB Funds? The commentator said it's preventative... but where do you draw the line? Will the SRBF be contributing to clubs air fences? Rider safety equipment? Track preparation equipment? And before you all come on here spitting feathers, this is a question for discussion and not an opinion. "The Fund can assist in many ways for example necessary home adaptations to allow wheel-chair access etc., Medical Equipment, Specialist Care, Financial Support and the General Welfare and Wellbeing of those who have suffered life changing injuries, as deemed fit and proper in deserving cases."
