Recommended Posts

3 qualifying rounds in 2025 ( not enough in my opinion)

Saturday 7th June

Lonigo start time 6pm UK time

Zarnovica start time 1pm UK time

Monday 9th June

Abensberg start time 1pm UK time

Challenge final Holsted Saturday  9th August

Just a reminder that in 2026 GP field is

top 7 from GP 2025

top 4 from Challenge

SEC Champion

Why aren't Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley included in the line up ?

There are 8 current GP riders doing the qualifiers, so 7 aren’t

Zmarzlik

Lindgren

Bewley

lambert

Fricke

Doyle

Michelsen

There are domestic qualifiers to see who gets the spots so not sure who of that 7 could have taken part.

Therefore these 7 must  be hoping to finish in the top 7 in the GP standings.

Top 4 from challenge + SEC Champion only leaves 3 picks for 2026.

Also interesting is that the 2 riders that punters have been obsessed with Madsen and Dudek are not in the qualifiers and only one of them can possibly win the SEC !

Madsen not in the qualifiers because he didn't participate in the Danish Final last year which gave spots for this years qualifiers.

And Dudek came 9th in the Polish Golden Helmet from which their three nominations qualified.

[P.S. Poland get 3 slots - same as Italy, and LESS than Germany!]

So if other countries have qualifiers to decide who gets the spots, how is it decided which British riders will take part. Are riders you would expect to participate turning down the opportunity  ?

I can only assume yes- Harris is grass tracking this weekend. Wouldn’t it have been nice as Mulford was riding last night for Kelv to ask Ollie Allen about the GP qualifying- as him and Steady presumably are involved in who rides in them.

Yeah, I was hoping it would be mentioned last night as it's confusing as to how GB riders are picked.

Amazing to think there are only 3 Poles in the qualifiers when Italy & Slovenia also have 3, then there's 2 Austrians.

It's actually a clever idea for Kurtz & Holder to enter the qualifiers, if only to limit fellow Aussies chances, as harsh as that may sound.

The more Australian's who qualify for the GP / do well in the Challenge, the harder it would be for Holder & Kurtz to get wild cards spots (if they finished outside of the top 7).
