To my mind, having followed this wonderful sport for 50 years now, this comment "it's all about winning" explains a lot about the decline of the sport in recent years It never used to be ALL about winning - yes, all wanted to be the best and strived for that, but it went hand-in-hand with providing entertainment for the fans These days everyone seems so much more combative, and few promoters seem engaged in putting on a show for the public Yes, it's great when your rider, your team, wins, but it shouldn't be ALL about winning It's a wonderfully entertaining sport and spectacle, and that ought to be paramount in the minds of those charged with running it in this country
