Ron Henderson of Newcastle who averaged 5.8 in his debut season of 1975, increased it to 8.3 in 1976 then quit part way through 1977 to become a social worker back in Australia.

Not sure I’d be signing too many more riders without knowing the league structure and who will run.

Might even be prepared to be a trustee if that’s required.

Delighted. As stated before I would sponsor a heat in 2022 and would also be interested in contributing to a fans trust run along the lines of Edinburgh. I also have a couple of slightly left field promotional ideas that I would like to discuss. Maybe if THJ organises that meeting I could meet up with the appropriate folks from the club.

I’m not loaded but I can state now that if it runs I would sponsor a heat and buy a season ticket even though I can only actually attend half of the meetings.

Once again I can’t attend (isolating with COVID) but will buy a ticket online. Anything that might persuade Rob to give it one more crack. I would also sponsor a heat in 2022 if we beat the odds and make it.

Devastating news. I’ve been one of the hard core since 1975 and struggle to imagine summers without the Diamonds. Unfortunately the Diamonds are not alone in being an unsustainable business and something really needs to be done to unify speedway from the top. I won’t hold my breath.

This is true in the same way that Hartlepool have the same team building opportunities as Manchester City.

I actually thought 30-60 but didn’t want to put that on here. Just shows the difference between a team with three heat leaders (not to mention a guest reserve riding like one) against a team with no heat leaders. Unfortunately, Newcastle heads went down very early on. I was hoping for a win against a two man Plymouth team even if it turned out not the two I was expecting. Good to see the decent crowd and hear the news that 2021 will run to its conclusion. If the Diamonds run in 2022 I will sponsor a heat.

Looking forward to this. Expect Poole to hit 55 with their heat leaders but I think we have a chance of a win against Plymouth
