It would be nice if they answered the phone when you contacted them instead of always going through to voice-mail. By the way another day has passed and you've guessed it...no refund.
-
Twelve days....
-
Eleven days now and counting...
Perhaps I wouldn't feel so aggrieved if it wasn't for the 500 mile round trip, hotel and £90 rail fare on a track that with the subsequent delay was never even close to racing on.
-
Make it ten days now!
-
No refund yet. So I am updating this post for each day it continues.

Has anyone received a refund for the aforementioned meeting yet?

Hi, has anyone received a refund yet? I have tried a number of times to email Belle Vue regarding the matter with no luck - no response or acknowledgement that they have received my email and even less luck on the phone.
-
Why can't we scan the the tickets with the email proof of purchase and return? Otherwise it could be a case of there word against ours that they have received them.
Also, I would expect Belle Vue to be compensated by the developers for this cock-up so should we the Supporters be additionally compensated?

Cool, took time off work, travelled 200+ miles, hotel overnight stay, rail fare etc. All the recompense entitled to is the face value of the ticket! Even, prior to Saturday when I tried to contact Belle Vue (twice) regarding what would happen in the case of a rain-off - guess what - no reply!
Now it seems like the problem with the track was known about and in evidence way before the start of the meeting.
No wonder Speedway is ridiculed by outsiders.
Speedway once was and could still be a great sport but I for one am total disillusioned by Speedway at present.

Travelled up from Cornwall for this. Hotels, Rails fare etc.. Leaves a very sour taste in the mouth!
Lifelong fan, severely disillusioned with the sport right now.

Hi, what is the best way to get to Brandon by train? Either Coventry mainline station or Rugby?
Thanks.

Hi, does anyone know in the event of the meeting being postponed when a re-staging date will be? I have tried emailing Belle Vue and have had no reply.

Reading this thread people may be interested to know "Five live investigates" on Radio 5, Sunday at 11am has a feature about Developers who promise certain things to gain planning permission but then never fulfil those promises.
May be of interest in view of the Swindon situation.

Nothing unusual in this. Normally you sign forms for the league the team is affiliated to.
-
So has anyone have any idea if this meeting is definitely on, any definite starters and what format will it take?
PS, Thanks Swindon. I emailed you asking about this nearly a week ago as we have to arrange time off from work, arrange travel and accommodation but have had no reply. Is this usual for the Club? If it is no wonder the sport is losing fans.

Hi, can anyone tell me if the End of Era meeting that is scheduled at Swindon's Abbey Stadium is definitely going ahead? If it is are there any confirmed riders and what format is it going to take?
Thanks in advance.
-
Is it me or is the schedule more sporadic than in previous years?
-
Echo that - very sad. I remember when Frank came over for the Falcons ill-fated return to the top flight in '84.
-
Brilliant, thanks.

Thanks for the reply but I know the location of the Arena but unsure on the buses as time would be tight to get a train back from Plymouth after a meeting if off-peak buses aren't very regular.
-
Many thanks for your swift replies - out of interest do you know how frequently the buses run?
I take it a 7.15pm start would take about two hours to run (thats including a couple of hold-ups).
-
Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post this. I have tried the forum on the website but I am unable to register.
From Plymouth railway station and using the local bus service how do I get to St.Boniface Arena - both before and after meetings and what is the stop I would ask for. (also how far is the walk from the stop where you alight).
Also how long is the trip to the Arena from the centre of Plymouth.
I know where the City Centre is and the Bus Station so assume I would catch the bus from one of those two places.
Thanks in advance.
