Sammy Millers website is showing a "Speedway Day" on Sun 19th July this year. I hope that it is as good as last year. http://museum.sammymiller.co.uk/

This would explain why I don`t remember him. I started watching Saints in 1956/57 until they closed. Thanks

I posted on another thread that two of my closest friends are Charlie Mays daughter Lindy and her husband Jim. It suddenly struck me that although he had ridden for Saints, I actually don`t remember him as a rider or who else he had ridden for. Does anyone have any particular memories of him?

As an old Saints fan, I remember Peter very well. He was a very good rider although he generally played 2nd (or 3rd!) fiddle to Barry Briggs and Bjorn Knutsson in the Saints team. Alby Golden and Dick Bradley were part of the same Saints team. On the subject of Charlie Monk, when I left school I worked for a time in Bert Crouchers garage (Park Motors) at Bitterne Park in Southampton. One day I walked in and found Charlie working there (must have been off season as he was riding for Long Eaton in the Provincial League at the time) and I always remember that he made a set of speedway handlebars in the workshop and he sent me down to the local Post Office with them to post them to Australia! Great Days! My other speedway "Claim to Fame" is that two of my closest friends are Charley Mays daughter Lindy and her Husband Jim.

I sure that this has probably posted before, but I was amazed when I came across this on Youtube. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HcVTdukYh7M

Any more news on this. I am unable to get to the Museum before Christmas and would like to possibly buy some merchandise for pressies and a website would be a good way of doing this.

Another Crap Ref Lol
John Miller replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In any sport, referees SHOULD be beyond reproach. The refereeing at Cardiff and last night was AMATEUR!! How can the Grand Prix be taken seriously when the officials are a joke? It needs to be sorted out along with the track situation. Ole Olsen??? -
Aaahh! That explains it. Thanks for your help.

Can anyone tell me why I am unable to access the Speedway Museum website? I have tried several time without any luck.
