Amazingly, part of their team, on the website, under ‘professional team’ is DPP planning consultants and the very man that was at Rugby Borough Council last night campaigning to get Brandon closed down and was slating speedway! at points 1:13:17 and 1:29:28... interesting comments!

That's always been assumed, Speedway on it's own at Brandon, that's why the group are trying to save the stadium, to allow speedway AND stocks to run and hence make the venture viable.....

Well.... :-D Can someone enlighten us all to exactly what the current 'promotion' are doing to secure a return to the Coventry area? Surely that's the whole point of 'keeping the name alive' ??

It is, and note that it is his 4th season, a lot of the ‘instant mega stars’ have been riding for 10 years plus, even if they’re only 15!

Where’s all the ‘replace Tom Bacon’ crew now then eh??? It’s the lads 4th season in the sport! Feel silly now do we? Give the lad some space!!!!

Well, I understood Leicester to be one year only, that's why I wondered what the promotion is doing.. I know the Save Cov Speedway group are doing a fab job, but even if Brandon miraculously came back for next year, they dont have promoting rights or the team name!

With about 12 weeks of the season left, has anyone heard of any plans for next year? are the promotion doing anything?

It would carry even more weight if the current promotion would let the fans know what they are actively doing to either secure a return to Brandon or find a suitable replacement! The season will be over in 12 weeks! what are the plans for next year?

It would but would also show that the 'Bees' have found a suitable place to run! Which is what BE have stated! It's a double edged sword, and I have no clue which is right or wrong, probably exactly what BE want :-(

This is a good one... they say the sports were not viable, yet their traffic assessment says; "5.2.2 During event days, the site would generate significant volumes of traffic onto the highway network. To provide an indication of the volume of traffic generated by the this use of the site, two automated traffic counts (ATCs) were undertaken between Friday 2nd and Friday 9th May 2014. The results of these surveys, attached as Appendix B, show that: Events occurred on four of the eight survey days, including Friday 22rd, Saturday 3", Monday and Friday 9t' May; Between 350 and 1,600 vehicles were recorded to arrive on the site during these events through the existing site accesses; and In addition to the above, a significant volume of cars were seen to be parking on the highway, on local roads and in pull-in areas. 5.2.3 A high proportion of the traffic identified above would have routed through the A46/ A428 signalised roundabout. In terms of traffic flows during event days therefore, the redevelopment proposals would provide a significant improvement over the previous situation. So..nobody supported the sports, but there was an horrendous amount of traffic!

In light of its surroundings, its more active use and adjacent uses Leicester Speedway Stadium is relatively better located for it purpose.
