Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
IW08 replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing wrong with Heat 13. Hard but fair, that's speedway. If Cookie can't handle the heat, he shouldn't be in the top flight. -
Speedway Stars Back Catalogue For Sale - (2006 To 2011 Issues)
IW08 posted a topic in Souvenirs & Memorabilia etc
Greetings, I have compiled a back catalogue of my entire speedway collection which covers a 5 and a half year period between April 2006 and September 2011. There are odd weeks where I didn't buy said issue but for most part, it's a rolling collection. Anyone who is interested and is serious about purchasing, please drop me a line either here or by private message and will provide further details. Thankyou in advance. PLEASE NOTE: I will offer the magazines on a buyer collects policy. As I am sure you can understand, it would cost a bomb to post all of them otherwise. Thankyou for understanding on the matter -
Scunthorpe Scorpions Vs Ipswich Witches ( P L) - Friday, July 17th (7.30pm)

Scunthorpe got their wish then. I'm not excusing what Tungate did, but a sit-down protest is truly pathetic. -

If there was malice in what Tungate did, then he will be dealt with accordingly I am sure. There seems to be a clear intent from Scunthorpe in terms of parking the bus of blame all at the door of Ipswich from everything I read. There are two sides to every story, and IF there was any whiff of inappropriate action from promotion, then the facts will render speculation about who did this, who did that etc as useless -
It really says a lot about the team when they've picked up more points away from home so far this season in league racing than at Foxhall. The irony of it, last year had solid home form and poor away form. fast forward to this season, almost the reversal

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
IW08 replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
the simple of fact of the matter is... the balance of mathematics is plain wrong. Yes, clubs have their costs to cover and all that but combine gradual increases in admission every other year or so... with the fact that the overall standard of the Elite League esp is being "lowered"... fans put two and two together, and decide that the expense is not worth it. I mean, the rate things are going... how long before we see the first speedway club charging £20 admission for adults?? -
Threat To The World Cup
IW08 replied to TwoMinuteWarning's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Really doesn't bother me TBH about the SWC, its always the same old teams in the final competing for the trophy. Anyone who finds that exciting must find watching paint dry on a wall provides thrills too. -
indeed Orion, did you still want that chair to sit down in for Christmas?
-
Gutting Marco was not everyone's cup of tea but he was an exciting rider to watch and add some much needed spice and verve to the paddock. So cruel that he has been taken so young. RIP.

The finale at Silverstone today, watched the three big races on ITV4. ITV deserve credit for the coverage they give the sport, an excellent way to pass quiet/boring Sundays by, and once again, some cracking racing today. It's been another close, superb season to watch, I've seen all 30 races and what a championship it has been, with just about everything thrown into the mix. Delighted to see Honda win, and didn't mind which Honda driver won, just glad that Jason "whinging old man" Plato didn't win, he is a sore loser. Well done to Matt Neal for a third title, the first man to achieve it since Touring Car legend Andy Rouse back in the 80s. Honda were head and shoulders above the others this season, a superb car, team ethic and IMO, the two best drivers on the BTCC grid right now.

Pride Of The East 14/10

Nothing new there then where the BSPA are concerned... -
that too. well, on reflection, my original statement revised

Matt Ford sacked as vice-chairman of the management committee (or whatever his role is there) Poole start on - 20 Ipswich get a 20 point headstart on everyone else in the Premier League. Any of those realistically feasible? seriously though, the first thing that MUST happen is for British Speedway to be ruled/run by an independent governing body so that conflict(s) of interest(s) cannot come into play.
-
because all true Ipswich fans (and no, I do NOT include Aljack in that) are 'well respected' on the forum and don't go about seeking petty fights/arguments with other members and unlike fans of most other clubs, we tend not to bleat about crap or stuff that isn't true because we are well informed through FACTS
-
is that your Kings Lynn dream team that your trying to pass off as what we want?
-
Tatum is NOT anti Coventry and why would he be? After all, he only rode at Brandon for..... six, yes SIX! seasons (1985-1990). I don't find myself often agreeing with Poole fans (or Starman ) too often, but on this occasion... I do! ) If Tatum is anti towards any club, then by far and away....... the runaway leaders of the Kelvin Tatum anti award are Ipswich by a long shot.

British Grand Prix 2012
IW08 replied to willstaxi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Doesn't bother me if it is not at Cardiff anymore, not as great as some make it out to be. Hope the event moves to a track in easterly direction as may stand a (slightly) better chance of going. Kings Lynn would be great venue IMO for a British Grand Prix. -
shame about Dyer, he looked a decent talent... as did Anderson. Hope they are not both lost to British Speedway.
-
great news, I may have to make a visit or two over to West Row this season
-
Really feel for Mildenhall supporters, gutting blow BSPA are just showing their true colours, and that those who said the clubs aren't in for themselves..... that 'theory' has been blown right out of the water. Awful treatment of a club in a time when we should be encouraging as many clubs as possible to stay in business and operate successfully. The time has come for the fans of ALL British Speedway Clubs to unite one and create a petition calling for the BSPA to be disbanded, and for the sport to be overseen by an independent regulator because until that happens (if it ever does), then the governing body it seems are happy to let more clubs go to the wall.

When I say 'pecking order', I mean, does anyone know how 'priority' works. For example: Poland Sweden GB Denmark etc etc, if that is how it works? and in event of re-arrangments?
-
Hope to see the Touring Team back at Ipswich in 2011, was a thoroughly enjoyable meeting would like to see them visit again
-
I've seen somewhere that Gapinski and Gomolski are signed up for Valsarna, can anyone confirm this?

For anyone who may be interested in seeing them, taken from HERE: I think the grading system for the Danish Speedway League works really well, and hence, more of the Grand Prix riders make apperances here than they do in say Britain for example. I am growing to like the Danish league, and I will certainy be keeping an eye out for results in the coming season
