Yep great interview, some great insights around the lease on the track and a low break even figure. Final rider isn’t actually signed but sounds like many options in the pipeline and Steve pretty much confirms Josh Auty was going to sign then retired! And current GP riders in the Ben Fund Exciting times! https://m.soundcloud.com/cumbria-crack/steve-lawson

Could be a sell out!
-
Hopefully not too long before the 7th rider is revealed Also we were told to expect news from the SRBF on the line up for the Ben Fund meeting in the new year, wonder which riders are lined up?
-
Agreed, I think Pearson will average 6+ and be nowhere near reserve. Complin will probably kick on near a 5 point average with his home form especially. Not sure about Ace after watching him last season there are better 2.00 riders out there this season. But Glasgow will be certs for the play offs imo.

Yes, just being silly
-
Unless it's a former Comet from 2017, who is actually now a sponsor. No chance of that
-
I don't KNOW anything, infact Auty just annnounced his retirement! - https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/auty-calls-it-a-day/ Quite a few people on here had mentioned he was coming back so i'm surprised he's now officially retired
-
Must be a long long time ago now? Wasn't it about 2012 that happened The Comets fans soon forgave Andre Compton when he signed
-
No idea, doesn't seem to be any real criteria set in the rulebook other than
-
Think Auty will be the last signing on an injury reducted average to fit under the 6.32 left, we will see. Hopefully they'll announce the final rider in the next few days.
-
7.16 6.32 left
-
Batchelor I reckon..
-
No chance surely, leaving 10.07 left for a Number 1?

Good outing for Tate Zischke tonight in the Centenary meeting https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/22295/29-2023-australian-speedway-centenury Finished 3rd in his semi final. Won heats 11 and 17 ahead of the likes of Douglas, Fricke, Holder and Doyle. Looks an exciting signing for the Comets!

Jenga is back..

And times when riding pretty much on your own are irrelevant. Plus seeing the track for the very first time and riding on the outside is going to be much longer. 400m track on the outside. The track is set up totally different on these days with 40+ heats. Heat times were also around this on the last home NDL meeting Just real lazy comments If you wanna compare times she went round Redcar in 57.5 two weeks later and that was quicker than any of Ashton Boughen’s wins that day
-
And you’ve got the 3rd best rider from little old west Cumbria as number 1
-
She is yeah, just assumed before that article was posted she would be 5 with riding in U24 Ekstraliga. Leaves 13.48 for last 2 riders. The bonus with signing assessed riders is that they can’t dip below that figure. So you won’t get a situation we were in last year with Harry McGurk and Crang where they can’t be replaced. Not that I think any of the 3 assessed riders will fail
-
Celina Liebmann maybe. Assessed 5 average? Know original plans changed
-
Wonder what the criteria or precedent is for a rider being re-assessed after not achieving an average since 2016, when it was still called the Premier League?
-
Would that be the all time worst ending to a promising looking side ever?
-
Depends though, if you keep mentioning riders who rode in the Championship in 2023 probably not.
-
There’s 17.5 points left, a 5 point assessed rider (or re-assessed)
-
All of those would be poor signings compared to what you could have at reserve.
