    Swindon 2018

Updated averages have not been published on the BSPA website to date. Last GSA posting was 18/7/2018. Averages being posted are 2018 averages & are not used for GSA's. Not sure why the delay as they are due on 23rd but wonder if they are having to re-calculate the GSA's to take account of Rye House's demise.
  2. I can't see the nearby residents being very happy with a tractor continually going round the track when they are trying to sleep. He would be very close to some of the new houses. That's another problem for Swindon with the fixed race nights, dog racing on both Monday & Wednesday, they are not allowed any track preparation while the dog meeting is on.

End of season playoffs to change

To be honest, once Rye House left the league, it makes sense that the p/off places are reduced to 3. Personally I thought that would have been the way to go when there was only 8 teams in the league. It never made sense to me when 50% of the teams competing could make the p/offs.

And I can't see many more seasons at the Abbey. The plans are progressing at the speed one has come to expect from GI. I can't imagine that I will live to see the day when GI actually build a new stadium anywhere in the country. It's my belief that the new stadium was never going to happen, once planning permission was given for housing. Let's not forget, it was originally mooted that there would be industrial units built by the stadium.
  5. Can't see how they would get a converted CL average, when they have both a 2017 & 2018 average.

    Rye House 2018

Thursday was the original fixed night agreed with the FIM. It was only changed to Wednesday because of some Championship club failing to agree. They should have stuck to their guns & forced it through. By switching to the Wednesday night, t has caused problems for any club that has Danish riders.

    Rye House 2018

It was not a fan. It was the commercial manager who is the son of the late Bob Kilby.
  8. I thought I read somewhere that he didn't get any loan fee's for the assets that he inherited from Peterborough. Not sure if that is true but it would be a big loss to the club's income if that was true.

    Poole 2018

Depends what the terms of the lease are. It could be that the maintenance of the track is the Speedways clubs responsibility. I'm guessing that this is the case for Swindon, as the club supply all of the materials & the maintenance is done by a team of volunteers under Ronnie Russell. They have the use of a 2nd tractor supplied by a sponsor & the team maintain all of the equipment.
  10. Correct call by Rosco! Torrential rain from about 3.00pm onwards.

All threads are open to everybody, as you well know.

    Wolverhampton v Poole Prem B. 28/5/18

Surely Starke is in as a re-declaration as Starke's average is way above Neilsen's GSA. That would mean Woryna at reserve as per Wolve's line-up.
  13. Sorry, misread that, thought it was the other way round.
  14. And according to the BSPA GSA's published 25-5-2018, BWD is still in the 1 - 5 from 1st June.

    Poole 2018

All round as a league rider, I would not put Holder in the same league as Leigh Adams.Holder might have been better in the GP,s as Leigh did not have that ruthless streak but in our leagues, Leigh topped the av's for quite a few years. & he was the total team rider who sitting arm chair style guiding home a lesser rider for a 5 - 1. Also at the time, Matt was right that Chris would not get anywhere holding his average for the season. When they were at Kings Lynn, Troy overtook him in the averages. It's not all about loyalty, you have to take the rest of the team into account.

Ha Ha, somebody at the BSPA must be reading Speedway Updates. All change for issue 25/5/2018, Jack Smith has got his job back. Best wishes for your recovery Mitch & hope to see you back on a bike in the future.
  17. I have a feeling that the weather may win this one. Let's just hope that any forecast storms avoid the area.

Possibly so but they would have lost 1.53 in return & with the averages game, it can effect team choices so much more. Swindon took a gamble & it paid off but if Doyle had been injured earlier in the season, it could have gone totally pear shaped.

    Poole 2018

I said many years ago that Chris Holder would not stay at the top for long, due to his lifestyle. His choice I know but I think his performances have proved me right. I agree that having Chris Holder in last season on a 12.53 av would have been madness for Poole & Matt Ford made the correct decision there. I honestly believe that if Chris had changed his lifestyle, he would have stayed at the top for longer. Modern sport requires much more attention to fitness, even if you are riding a bike.

Do the BSPA know something that they are not telling us. I see from the latest GSA's for 24/5/18, that Mitchell Davey is back in the no' 7 shirt. It amazes me at times to see their total incompetence. It must have involved somebody removing Jack Smith from the spreadsheet & replacing him with Mitch. I know he's been released from hospital but that is expecting a miraculous comeback on somebodies part.

    Poole v Wolves Premiership A. 23/5/18

Does not the 4H & 4A now only relate to riders that did not have a 2017 average, as the BSPA are using the rolling averages for GSA's.

This good enough for you SS. Who never said they were to beat everybody! Your memories not so good!
  23. Yes we have noticed that you are still on it. A walk to the end of the pier should be more in your line with that totally uncalled for post.
  24. Shouldn't have been called the Abbey Stadium, it should have been "THE ARCTIC STADIUM". I never go up there without a warm coat in my rucksack.

Stop stirring, he wouldn't have fitted in with our points limit without dropping 2 from the 1 - 5. I'm still confident that our team will finish off better than Poole. Take your troll hat off & get back to proper speedway talk.
