Gp Qualifying Semi-final Wednesday 7th August Holsted
Eduds1 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why should he not get another chance when we all know it must have been his bikes or mechanics faults. I can't understand why he does'nt hand his bikes back to Motability. -

British GP 2013
Eduds1 replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
When Pedersen decided to lay the bike down ( injury or not ) trying to get a re-run, which he does with great regularity on the first bend when he misses the gate.To suggest a rider deliberately targets another rider is utter drivel and I really ought to have more sense than reply to it. I think your biggest problem is that Tai is English and / or does'nt ride for Edinburgh. -

Chris Harris Cardiff Wild Card
Eduds1 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why can the Czechs give there wildcard to the winner of the Marketa Open, but we can't use the winner / best placed in the British Final. IF franc is unable to take his place for whatever reason then it is likely they will use the next in line, which would'nt be any different from giving our wild card to the best placed rider if Tai was to win it. As for not being able to guage public opinion on Chris Harris, I think you would get a fair insight by ading up the for and against on this topic alone. -

thanks for that, but the close proximity to the stadium would mean it is likely to fill up early in the day, and unfortunately due to various problems I have I can't really arrive much before 14.00, which is why i was looking at the park and ride system. -

I am going for the first time and travelling by car. I notice there is a park and ride system in operation. Is there plenty of room in these parks, do you have to wait long for buses and also what would be the latest time to arrive as i am disabled and can't hang around too long, any sensible answer would be greatly appreciated. -
Virgin Media have British Eurosport on M+ which is the basic subscription, so I will get SGP without extra charge. Customer Services can be contacted by telephone free of charge and any problems I have had have been sorted. I'm happy with Virgin Media. With Virgin you don't have to pay pay for a new box when they blow up. Also if you are sports mad you get ESPN and Atheraces free.

How Many Heats In A League Meeting ?
Eduds1 replied to rusky's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The point i'm making is not the heat formulae bringing back the crowds, but the anticipation of seeing the better riders meeting each other less frequently. you say you look forward to heat 15 because of the better riders, but by the time this race comes along the result of the meeting has already been decided in most cases, and riders are not going to risk injury racing hard when nothing depends on it. Surely there's more anticipation seeing the top riders meeting heat 1 when something depends on it, and this only a couple of times a season. -
How Many Heats In A League Meeting ?
Eduds1 replied to rusky's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I much prefer 15 heats. Especially the nominated heat idea. If a meeting's been decided prior it still gives something to look forward too. Why look forward to something you've just seen 2 races earlier ( in 90+% of meetings) Under the 13 heat system No 1's only met in heat 1 ( unless T/R or R/R ), therefore only meeting possibly twice a season ( 1 Home 1 Away ). If my memory serves me correctly Poole visited Wolves 4 times last season meaning I watched Lindgren v Holder 12 times + ( possibly 3 times every other week in the GP's ). I was unable to travel to away meetings last year but if I did I would have seen the above 2 riders against each other 24 times plus a possible 33 times in GP's. This is a possible 57 times in 1 season ( not withstanding numerous times in Poland and Swedenn via the web ). The old saying familiarity breeds contempt springs to mind, which I feel is a big reason for falling attendances. -
The problem with relying on Lindgren & Woffinden to score 12/13 points away from home is that last season (2012) in 13 away meetings Woffinden scored 12+ in 6 meetings and Lindgren in 15 away meetings only reached this on 4 occasions (without double points) so it's not only the bottom end of the team to worry about.

Surely Doyle is a better option than Proctor.

Fair play mate best post on here for ages. The only way forward is to use riders who are prepared to put British speedway first. Any rider who usually rides in this country then decides to put other leagues first should be banned for a number of years because as soon as there star wains or they are'nt paid on time they will soon come crawling back to the league that nurtured them but then became an inconvenience to them. Andersen and Nicholls soon realised the error of there ways and Richardson did'nt get out of the gate.
