  1. Well it seems that Laguta has not found a way as a former world champion on how to outpace his compatriot and show Emil what he needs to do to be a top class rider. Laguta clearly needs to up his game but I doubt he knows how to improve when you have a class rider like Emil showing him what coming second is all about.
  2. Unfortunately those that run the sport do not keep up with the changing circumstances and for speedway to survive many clubs need to look at the likes of a Workington set up. Tracks close to major conurbations are not going to work with planning authorities siding with developers on the benefits of alternative uses for the land that many tracks occupy and local authorities are under pressure to increase revenue which sports venues like a Wolverhampton or a Peterborough are not going to offer. Build several thousand houses or major commercial units and the local council are going to see and uplift in revenue compared to the rateable income of a dirt racing track. Sadly the decline will continue and league racing will fade into history. No one party is to blame but collectively the way speedway is managed as a sport and its failure to adapt to changes, its masters who have allowed their self interests to override the well being of the sport and the riders who believe someone owes them a living are all major factors as to why the sport Is in decline and why it will take a super human sacrifice to recover. Can it do it, I doubt that those involved see the issues let alone rally enough collective support to save the day.
  3. The poster should show to all their true colours but obviously they neither have the balls or the sense to see where the sport is in this country. Still what sport needs supporters like this poster. Suggest they go watch tiddlywinks.
  4. It is if you are trying to run some sort of league. No Wolves and I doubt whether the league can continue in its current format. Why should any team jeopardise it’s very existence by moving up to join and expensive operating model racing on nights that do not suit the the local business model. In my view it is a shame that another team bites the dust and league racing at the top level is questionable and I wonder how many fans of the sport would turn out for open meetings if you had no league racing. Be careful what you wish for.
  5. It really is a blow to u k speedway and one can only hope that Wolves have something in the pipeline but can the optimism about 2025 be fulfilled and if the club has something lined up that can see them come to the tapes in 2025 then why not reveal. I feel for the Wolves fans and let’s hope that they are not lost to British speedway. U k speedway and one of stalwarts of the top tier is not going to be the same. Fingers crossed that you come back.
  6. I think you will find that after tonight’s meeting Emil taught the whipper snapper a lesson or two. Tomorrow is another day but from what is on show thus far not many will have the a ability to teach Emil a lot apart from allowing him to demonstrate what it is like to follow the leader and come second. He is a great asset to the sport and has learnt his craft and those skills will show many a discerning punter what it takes to make a rider a class act matching many of the all time greats and but for the ego of a lunatic who has taken over the asylum and shoots from the hip and is someone who has lost the plot, who knows where Emil would be today in the higher echelons of speedway but for the man who runs the disturbed state and has seemingly lost the plot. Emil in the GP would put a different complexion on matters. It
  7. I think you will find that the current meeting on the stream is an example of some of the best and Emil is showing student Laguta how to ride. If you take a view of u k speedway it is on it knees in terms of entertainment, crowd support and atmosphere and only in the u k play offs can you scratch the surface by comparison. Watch a few more meetings and you may find that the U.K. is the pits by comparison with contrived commentary, poor filming and disappointment in terms of entertainment.
  8. Heat 13 and the Stars are still in it and really do deserve a pat on the back given that it is almost a three man team.
  9. Too many last places by the Witches. The top guys cannot continually carry three riders.
  10. Not really. Watched him for too many years promising so much and listening to his hype but failing to deliver and as to why Louis has stuck with him is anyone’s guess but for the Witches to succeed in 2024 they really need to clear out the deadwood and think back to the type of team which has brought success and glory to the to the county town and Suffolk and r3build accordingly assuming that the sport can sort itself out before any tapes up in March/April 2024.
  11. Well done Panthers. What more could you ask for. Great result.
  12. His entourage will not let it happen. Ellis is the bees knees and cannot do anything wrong if you believe his followers but it is on the track that he can prove his worth. Let the results show that.
  13. Simon looks as though he has been slapped in the face by a wet kipper. Get over it lad, you came up second best tonight.
  14. Quite a few cannot understand why year in year out an abject failure creeps into the team then when you understand that his buddy Hawkins that ace manager with a face that looks as though he has kissed too many arses and believes that he will be the making of a championship Ipswich team remains in charge and yet should be put out to grass, preferably just under the Orwell Bridge.
  15. No I think it is golden balls.
  16. Watch it because kith, kin, Tom dick and Harry will be on your case. He is god in some circles and is not one that his followers take criticism of lightly. Apart from that the home side do seem to be pulling out the stops and you have to feel for the Panthers fans, if only they had started off the season with this type of competitive racing. Still it looks like the three East Anglian sides can compete for a separate trophy while the rest race for the winning title.
  17. It will be a tall order to pull a win off here with too long a tail in the team. Forgive the reserves but when you need the likes to Danny King to step up, the pressure seems to get to him. This really should be his last season with the Witches. Complacency and comfort zone come to mind and he does need to ply his trade elsewhere and perhaps it might give him a final push to make himself a better and more consistent rider but carry on as is and he is doing no one any favours.
  18. Vatcher who has no one can confirm has ever been a rider and as a consequence has no track experience is gifted the opportunity to take charge of riders and makes decisions based on nothing other than your face fits or not and nothing to do with rider skills. It says it all about what is wrong with the sport in this country. If no one else with some relevant experience wants to take on the mantle, then desist from competing as your credibility goes out the window. You cannot have someone like Vatcher taking charge, on the basis of the excuses given for his involvement. I would suggest that you have so many on this forum who could do a better job. It is hard to decipher what Vatcher brings to the party and one or two contributors on here could make a better success of the role. Vatcher is a lost cause and should disappear from the speedway scene notwithstanding those who believe that he is doing the sport a favour.

    King's Lynn v Ippo 17/08/23

Assuming it is true, it sums up what a state the sport is in, it vindicates Chris Harris comments in the Speedway Star and really makes a mockery of any suggestions that Chapman cannot afford the wages bill. It could all be pure conjecture but in this game you have to suspect that the underhanded nature of one or two in this sport in their attempt to survive should not be under estimated and ought to require detailed investigation but that will not happen. One or two promoters might break ranks over some of the shenanigans but in reality those on the top table will see moves like those seemingly being carried out by KL as only benefiting the top league and believe the punters will approve. Those in charge are not in the real world and should pass on the baton or walk away now for the sake of those clubs who believe in the future of the sport. Time is no longer on the side of the chancers.

Whatever the reasons for the postponement it should be a final wake up call to the other teams in the league and the sport in general, the current business model does not work in the top league. With the potential closure of one or to clubs and the understandable reluctance of teams to move up, now is the time to review where the sport is and set a new direction. Whatever the resultant of any discussions and no doubt it will not suit many, something new needs to be tried. To start, no clubs should be run/owned by the same person unless in separate leagues. Race nights should suit the club not the leagues preference. Introduce a wider range of meetings and disciplines to provide the punter with a sports experience not just a one trick pony, league racing, 15 heats take it or leave it. Unless club owners can see some benefit you will never see an independent body run the sport. What it needs if the powers that be can agree is a look back at why it was successful, why it has failed to keep pace with changing attitudes and what do the Poles do that make most league matches an event which just does not happen in this country. Who would not want to go to a stadium full of chanting fans and the atmosphere which at best you only get over here in the play offs. Polish teams in the top league get that atmosphere every week. If it cannot or the owners do not want to run the top league as a professional sport and cannot commit to league meetings within a limited time frame and stadiums are not available and riders do not commit, then stop the league farce, drop down or the top clubs run open licences with individual meetings/events and operate a 4TT format. No point in blaming Chapman or any other promoter, collectively they have got it wrong big time and they can either change or continue to throw good money after bad at the sport or walk away. No one else will step into the breach with the current business model, so it is change or fold.
  21. You really are an FCW but having read many of your posts I am not surprised. Prick
  22. Why? You show respect to those who know what the word means. Check out Adam’s comments about the meeting he was in before the World Cup. He showed little respect for his team mates or the opposition.
  23. I think you will find that Ellis is an also ran. Why don’t you mind your own business. I do not moan about riders who make a genuine effort but the set up in this country says it all about the sport. Carry on replying but I have no interest in you opinion and rest my case, the sport is dead in the U K and thankfully the Poles know how to put on decent meeting.
  24. No I don’t I have an opinion but perhaps you are a contributor to the woke society. Why don’t you mind your own business, Ellis has his number one fan covering his arse.
