    Somerset Closure

never say never - there was despair when Worky shut - now look.

    Glasgow 2023

when sitting down to agree admission prices you can not put your expenses first - it has to be market level first and costs have to be adjusted to accommodate that market level. Asda can't sell milk at £5 a pint, they have to compete with the others. Speedway has to compete with cinema, pizza or even going out at all. In any business control of costs is paramount otherwise its disaster for any business and speedway is no different. Controlling costs has to be the way forward, cheaper bikes, whatever, that's the big question. £22 this year, £25 next - its the road to oblivion.

    Glasgow 2023

if people are cutting down on heating then speedway has no chance

    Newcastle speedway

is anyone actually looking to the best of your knowledge?

    Swindon Robins 2020

there seems to be space at Swindon Supermarine's facility. Do any locals know if this has been looked at

    Pete Reading

yes in the days when there was clear demarcation between the divisions the top 2nd tier boys were "no 8" for 1st division teams. E.g. Steve Wilcock performed this role for Coventry among others. Nobody seemed to mind that.

    Scunthorpe 2023

you're quite right, however I'm sure the riders appreciate the quality of the track despite the fairness. Fewer 'trick' tracks than there used to be. If you cd master Cleveland Park you were guaranteed a hatful and we hardly ever lost at home before the merger into a big league
  8. When I had a few sessions at Felton 40 odd yrs ago I would have been excluded for incompetence
  9. I remember two Canterbury riders at Teesside in 1968 being excluded for the same reason. There were 4 in the race but they just tootled around at the back. I think Ken Vale was one and maybe Pat Flanaghan. 50 odd years ago haha

    Redcar 2023

if both Jenkins and Edwards are assets surely they'd be in. Both are capable of big scores but are so inconsistent. We had 3 inconsistent riders last year and it cost us

    Redcar 2023

is Jenkins an asset? I know Edwards is

    Brandon Update

64 mate can't do that! Maybe if the track needs watering....

    Brandon Update

it'll never go back to its former glory, there's no need - crowds will settle to the 1/2000 mark, there won't be 10000 there. Just need an oval, some cover and somewhere to pee

    Brandon Update

the document produced was top top class, it wd have been very fishy if the decision had been different. Well done Coventry, Oxford, Worky - the sport's not dead

    Brandon Update

they'll keep on with the long game I expect but i also. expect they'll be told to tidy the site. If racing does come back it wd be a rebuild job but i dont expect fans wd mind roughing it

    Brandon Update

these people wouldn't get a job anywhere else, councils are full of them
  17. many teams did that in the past with local stations and i think that was generally succesful. Boom Radio wd be a good shout too
  18. 'they?' Surely Godfrey IS 'they'? Besides who else would want the job?

    Jubilee championship league

it'll just be a pre season friendly thats all.
  20. I think the aim is to reduce du/dd so, error or not, it will happen
  21. Worky's new track - looks a belter, Monarchs reprieved. Wouldn't it be good if they cd get a similar facility
  22. Yes but I didn't name names and I don't want the aggro if I do. I'm sure most understand what I mean
  23. I'm not getting involved it that discussion but I would say there's more than 1 in each league
  24. I like the continental way - graded riders a,b,c,d whatever system is used the rich glory crazed clubs will chuck money at it
  25. and yet i asked Brian Havelock and he thought it was a great idea! Then laydowns followed and another step to oblivion. The genie is now out of the bottle but us spectators have gained nothing
