Which then gives Zagar Cook Fricke Stead Nicholls If Fricke manages it after those 8 meetings. There is probably more depth in that team than we have ever had. Whichever 2 are 2nd strings it will always be solid. Reminds me a bit of Coventrys team last season now that actually have 2 decent reserves. But the league overall will be stronger this year which is why I can't see that team making the play-offs

Looking at it again, it will probably take 10-15 meetings for cook to get up to 3rd HL and he will have to score very well to do so. He may actually be longer there than I first thought. Cook as a 2nd string will be very strong actually. It's not the team I wanted, but I have seen us put worse teams together down the years. We won't win anything, but we shouldn't finish bottom either. Think it will be Zagar Fricke Stead Cook Nicholls Worrall Nielsen It's not a bad team, it is certainly stronger than last year and with Fricke doing full time EL he has to make it work. I rate him very highly and I think if anyone moves to 3rd HL it will be him by the end of the season.

Phil, I'd go with Joonas. I don't think there is anyone else strong enough. But I think we both know it's not going to be him. I'm working on the basis that Fricke and Cook will sign, the last one, I havent got a scooby. I reckon you know a bit more than me on that front. I just hope it's decent, because although we have better reserves this year, that's only a leveller now because the pot was so much stronger this time. Also Phil, I wouldn't mind an English feel either, but with Lemon on board surely there will be couple of Aussies?

Cooks away average was terrible. He also missed a lot of meetings. His total average was bumped up by his home form. I accept he was riding as HL and this is my argument, he isn't one. So he suffered because of it. Watts away average is generally about 6 and he would ride every meeting. Whatever the reservations about him, and I can't stick the man, he would absolutely be on board because of lemon. He will be getting the bucks for it so I wouldn't worry about his commitment. I'm going purely on meeting availability and head to head as a 3rd HL, Cook vs Watt, especially away. Watt every single time. Anyway, looking at Cooks' picture on Twitter and him on the mx with lemon, I'd put 2 and 2 together and say he will be back. Along with Fricke.

Kylmakorpi had a poor season last year by his own standards. He has ridden as a number 1 in the past and had averages over 7 away from home. Watt would be 3rd HL. If cook comes with that average he will be 3rd HL by the end of May. If we take watt instead, and with respect to cook, it's not even a comparison when we travel. Away from home, 3rd HL, Watt or Cook? I think it's a no brainer.

Don't agree. I thought last years team was poor. It lacked a 3rd heatleader, even a 2nd when you looked at Poole and kings lynn. We also had the worst reserves in the league. Relied far too much on the potential of certain riders. I agree that in the time the current promoters have been here, they have tracked teams that should have done better but that is minimal. This year, like always, we have started fairly. But I'll bet my house, that if we finish this team with Cook/Worrall/Fricke then we will finish outside the play-offs and near the bottom again. Don't think it's anything to do with curses and everything to do with putting poor teams together. The league tables don't lie. It's important we carry some momentum into the new stadium, so this season is massive. We have to finish this team as strongly as we have started it. That means no Worrall, and no Cook unless we can use him as a 2nd string. I was looking last night at the teams from last year. Taking everything into consideration and the likelihood of certain riders going to the teams you would expect, Eastbourne not running EL etc, it basically leaves 2 riders that we should be moving mountains to sign. Davey Watt, and Joonas Kylmakorpi. Fricke being the third and likely on the lower average that team will fit. The only other option is going abroad for a 3rd HL and using Cook/Fricke. I'm talking your Micchel Mikkelsens' etc. Maybe Lindback etc although I'm not sure of his average.

Zagar Fricke Nicholls Kylmakorpi Watt Worrall Nielsen I think we could see something like that. I'd like cook back as a 2nd string, but I think he needs a change of scenery and will get it.

No not now. I would also think that Richie will be elsewhere. I would have Steve tbh because he is one the better draft riders. Only way to offset that for me is getting Garrity. I think we could see King here.

Well if we go to one race night in 2016 then it will be Wednesday. Like phil said, up to bspa and depends on agm at end of next season Personally don't want Friday. Will make it hard to get a gp rider. What I want is one race night, a sensibly re vamped british speedway with BV at the front of it going to new stadium
  10. Cracking meeting tonight. Some beltin' speedway on a well prepared track. Well done to Colin Meredith, the last 18 months have seen some big improvements and you starting to see a very consistent track. Dare I say it, but Kirky Lane, along with monmore, is probably the best track in the league. I've always maintained that the shape has nothing to do with the poor racing we used to put up with. It was always preparation. Think there are less stock cars as well, but well done Colin. Took 1 and 3 and that was a stupid decision. I actually think that's what cost us. Well done Swindon, thoroughly deserved
  11. Phil. I think your underestimating stefan a bit there. I think he is one of the strongest home reserves in the league. I'm a little concerned about this

    Wolverhampton 2014

It's a joke. Would understand if he didn't fly today, but he's just pissed on his own bonfire doing that. It will also affect the crowd at BV.
  13. I am behind tai. It's common knowledge that Britains schedule is to demanding. Since Saturday night, (I was there and I'm knackered still), he has flown to Poland and back, is probably sitting at stansted airport as I type waiting for a flight to Sweden, and then back to the uk on Wednesday in manchester. Now he chooses to live that life, but I've had the feeling that he has wanted to drop the uk for a while now. The schedule is brutal, if the uk had one race night then either Monday or Wednesday would have been a day to recover. It isn't right that wolves fans should have to suffer it, but don't be at all suprised to see him drop the UK next year. To many british fans want to cry a river. Blame the bspa and those who run the sport in this country. Not tai woffinden, the man is probably shattered. I don't blame him for putting the country's that pay him more first, anybody would.
  14. I actually agree that stead is the best option, you have a team there that can ride bigger tracks and that's exactly what we needed. We should get to the play-off, at which point we can say goodnight. Seems Bridger is suggesting he may quit.
  15. That is a stupid stat. 6 home meetings, and 2 of those wins will be chalked off.
  16. Can you pay on the gate?
  17. What a pussy cat pedersen is. Gives a hard man image, if I was Zagar I'd have put him on the ground there. Beltin GP. Had a fiver on Greg, but well done tai well deserved.
  18. Still one or two people doing nothing but moan about the quality of racing. Those people need to find a dark room, give there heads a wobble and knock on when your ready to come back to planet earth. I travel up and down the country watching speedway, live, trackside. I happen to live in manchester so support belle vue, and that was the best meeting I've watched in months. From leicster, to Sheffield, Birmingham, you name it. Some people need to drop their agendas, and I include some riders in particular one who was spouting off again tonight. A perfectly prepared track considering the weather. Congratulations to BV on presenting themselves the way they did. One of the best sky meetings this year.
  19. I think given the structure of the league this year, 2nd strings putting points on their average will much easier than a normal situation. I think a better way to judge the most improved will be head to head results. There are riders with proven el experience and for me they will be the ones most improved. So your proctors, skornikis etc should be putting a couple of points on their averages. The pl second strings, if you like, and there are quite a few, are unknown quantities for me. Palm toft to name one. Then there are riders like lambert as second strings, how will that fair? You just don't know. He has potential, but is essentially an nl standard rider until he proves otherwise, and that is the key for me. Those teams with the unknown, like kings Lynn, if those riders deliver then those teams will make the play offs without a doubt. Same applies for those foreign riders on a 4:00 average. Porsing milic etc. The most improved rider for me though, and it pains me because I wanted him at BV, will be garrity by a country mile. Best reserve by a long long way
  20. Good meeting and Poole deserved winners. I thought Rory made a mess of the first bend in the final, he gated on Ward but he didnt block the run left the door open. Also thought Bomber should have gone off 3, gate 1 wasnt working all night and Chris cant gate at the best of times. Off 1 he was so far behind he couldnt get out in the dirt which is where he wants to be. Rory wants to be their too but Chris is better at it. Well done Poole
  21. Just read that Hans crashed his van, didnt realise. I looked over at the pits and from what I could see he had only one bike, so that explains it. Doesnt explain his lack of form though, really out of sorts. Pants in his first 2, was so far behind I was scratching my eyes. Think he needs to re-group over the winter. He has a very handy average now, and I cant see him at BV next year tbh but someone will have the bargain of 2011 when they sign him.
  22. Chris Morton was there as well with one of his sidekicks. Good meeting, the way Chris was riding I couldnt see past him, but Freddie ridden a clever race in the final. I thought bomber had the legs on him but Freddie kept putting him in the wrong places. The semi final was a brilliant race and Holder coming off after one race right in front of us was a classic, not sure how scotty stayed on but they both went right down to the line. The Holder/Bjerre incident, from where we were standing it looked like Chris got it to me, but the ref makes the calls and he said Bjerre. Close run in the end but I thought Freddie deserved it after that ride in the final.
  23. So is bomber riding or not? Jacques, I have been to the showground before but that was many moons ago. Along with Wolves, probably the best track in the U.K so youre right there. Whats the format? is it gp style 20 heats semis and final?
  24. Despite a few people putting a dampner on it Im actually looking forward to this. Its still a decent line up, GP stndard almost. What is parking like? Weather forecast any good?
  25. Hes been a yard of the pace all season, for most of that he hasnt really been fit. Thought again tonight he looked slow, he isnt gating at all but mostly has lost that ruthless streak he once had. It wasnt that long ago he was a 10 point rider, always there in the GPs but that is under threat now if he doesnt qualify, no certainty to get a seed either. Thought riding for BV would have helped his season, its one of his better tracks but its the other way unfortunately.
