    Leicester Lions 2021

The Berwick meeting is a double header with the cubs against Berwick Bullets following the Lions, so I presume that's why it's £26. Do they only sell tickets for 1 meeting at a time, so perhaps the next meeting doesn't go on sale until the Berwick meeting is finished? But why put a buy ticket button if that's the case?

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020

Jan Graversen?, last I heard he was driving for a haulage firm somewhere not too far from Scunthorpe.

    Sky and Bt sports

For anyone who views Sky Sports & BT through Virgin Media there's now a link on their website to pause Sky Sports. I rang yesterday, before the link appeared, & after waiting about 30 mins eventually got through, they knocked off the £31 a month they charge for the next 3 months. The channels are still available to watch.

Could we see an home & away challenge against Sheffield, similar to last season, when we rode against Ipswich. A win-win situation for the owners, potential big crowds at both venues to allow fans to see the return of Pedersen.

    Leicester Lions 2020

The statement on the Lions website said " the club have a contingency plan for the early weeks of the season " & goes on to say " the Lions will not start their official programme until that stage (22 April ) although there will be track action at BP in other competitions prior to that April 22nd date". By other competitions i'm thinking, if they are running a cubs side, they will take those early dates. Also i'd imagine a challenge match will take place as a warm-up, possibly against Sheffield, which should attract a big crowd with Nikki Pedersen riding for the opposition. Lions would need to strengthen for that anyway, so guests could be used for the Thompsons.

Hope you haven't guessed right this time!

    Leicester Lions 2020

Now Perks is signed, beginning to think the Howarth rumour was wrong. The only one who hasn't said Howarth was Mr Bump who said Proctor for Howarth & included Hume , Mountain & Lawlor. He said Morris, Douglas, Proctor, Perks, Mountain, Hume, Lawlor. Hope it's not right, seems a bit weak.

Which I guess, could well be true, given his performances last season

Going by comments on page 3 of this topic by Flagrag in reply to one of Nick Morris's parents it's pretty obvious he's one of the riders. Also reading the Scunthorpe topic someone mentions Howarth signing for Scunthorpe to which the reply was no he's off down the other end of the A46, which implies Leicester. If that's the case there's no way Ellis Perks fits, unless it's 2 x 2 pointers at reserve, which isn't likely. If it's Connor Mountain plus 2 others, Zaine Kennedy who was at Sheffield last season & a 2 pointer would fit. Morris, Douglas, Proctor, Howarth, Mountain, Kennedy, 2 pointer.

Worrall seems nailed on to be at Edinburgh. I think you'll be right with Morris & Douglas. Thompson boys' don't turn 16 until April 22nd, so can't start with them. Think maybe it might be a year too soon, but won't be surprised to see 1 of them mid-season if any changes need to be made. Hope Perks & Mountain return.

    Berwick, Sheffield and Kent.

Flagrag, this sounds like a question you might ask if you were Leicester's promotion .Wolves, Sheffield, Peterborough & Kings Lynn all about 1 hour to 1 & half hours away. Only local derby would be Birmingham if they remain in Championship. I really hope they're not thinking about applying for Premier league again. I know you did hint a couple of days ago that there might be another team thinking of applying to move up.

    Glasgow 2021

Would have liked to have seen both at Leicester in 2020, shame it's not going to happen.

Rather than Ri W meaning Ricky Wells , do you mean Richie Worrall or am I barking up the wrong tree?
  14. Am I correct in thinking you have to be 16 to ride in the Championship ? If so, the Thompson twins aren't 16 until 22nd April, anyone signing them would mean having a late start to the season, by 22nd April this year Leicester had already ridden 8 meetings. Could anyone signing either of them run with guests until they are old enough ? I doubt that would be allowed. So presumably a team would have to sign another rider then replace when they were old enough.

Got my doubts Scott will be back, as good as he was this season, his best years are obviously behind him & to challenge for trophies you need riders to add at least half a point or more to their starting averages, as most of the team did this year. Scott is probably not going to add much, if anything, to his 8.35. Along with his TV duties on Saturdays i'd be surprised to see him back. I'd like to see Perks, Mountain & Douglas back, although i'm not sure Douglas really mastered the Leicester track, as his home average of 7.61 in comparison to an away one of 8.86 shows. I think Richie Worrall could feature again, if I remember when interviewed he said how much he likes riding for Stewart Dickson, so if fully fit I could see him featuring. Whatever happens it's going to be hard to follow this season.

KOC FINAL Wednesday 23rd and Friday 25

Enjoyable meeting, the heat 5 clash with the Thompson twins & Palin, like you say was excellent ( video on SGB website ). I think the meeting would have been completed if Palin hadn't had fallen in heat 13, the rain started to fall much more heavily in the 15 minutes or so he was being looked at by the medical team. The heat times were 4 or 5 seconds slower by heat 12, so conditions were getting a bit greasy. The call-off probably helped the Colts because with Perks & Hume in 13 & 15, you would have expected the Cubs to have extended the lead to well over 20 points, so they were probably happier with the abandonment than Leicester were.

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

Can a team use a guest in the play-off final that as rode for one of the 2 losing play-off semi- finalists? so could Riss guest for Worrall, which would only fit at Leicester not the away leg.

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

Steve Worrall for Lions, Jake Allen for Redcar

    League Finals - new dates

Championship play-off S/F, Leicester v Redcar on the 12th, so if Wolves won, no Douglas , if Swindon win Perks would be unavailable.
  20. stevethelion

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

If Lions win, the final will be the following weekend, Saturday 19th, I'd imagine. If Redcar win, the final will be the same friday / weekend so no difference really.

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

They have booked 2 ambulances & meeting starts at 5.30 , so hopefully should be ok this time. Fingers crossed.
  22. stevethelion

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

Lawson certainly strengths the Bears, that is some trio. Lions will do well to keep it within 8-10 points.
  23. stevethelion

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

Both Cubs meetings have already been abandoned once, one is a cup S/F the other a play-off S/F, so other clubs are waiting on the outcome of these matches so competitions can continue. Lions have run midweek meetings but it has a big impact on the crowd & they will want a big crowd for the play-off S/F & will only get that on a Saturday.
  24. stevethelion

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

Forecast for Tuesday isn't good, Wednesday forecast is much better but Cubs riding away against Cradley, so that rules Perks out, unless Cubs use a guest.
  25. stevethelion

    Redcar v Leicester Semi final

If that's the case Lions better pile up those points tomorrow, because they'll need them! Lions guests looking a bit limited for next Friday. Edinburgh v Newcastle now rearranged for same day, which rules out S.Worrall & Pickering. If Redcar decide to use Lawson then Allen could swap sides. Only other candidates are Howarth & Ellis.
