    Who Is Eligable?

I read somewhere that there are enough unattached riders to staff the extra teams that are likely to come in this coming season, so it hardly matters.

Well Leicester certainly copped for the lemon.

All right then call me a liar! The results MIGHT speak for themselves.... Then again. Yes but the Bulls went bankrupt! Bradford was just an example, there are others and the majority of tracks aren't in the centre of a town or city by the way, too many of them can't even be reached by public transport.

These things are always worth a try but many have tried them before. I remember at Bradford they would have representatives at all the major functions (including riders and bikes), they visited schools and hospitals and each week a large group of school kids would come along for free and be shown round everything. Bradford had the best team in the country and won piles of silver wear over several years, the local newspaper gave great coverage, often the bulk of the back page complete with photographs. By the time it closed the crowds were so small it was embarrassing. The stockcars meanwhile, staged only a few meetings a year, had very little publicity and got much bigger crowds. There is so much choice for people's leisure time now. As you suggested, it might be worth a try, who knows?

The list is to be increased to 30 names. so that should provide enough long or short term replacements. Some riders turned down the offer because of work and other commitments.

    Elite League Draft Riders

It means if they pick him, that is their round one choice over. In round 2 the team with the lowest ranked round one rider gets first choice, so Poole will be last or near last choice from round 2. This might help. http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/index.html

If Poole pick him they will very likely end up with someone else near or at the bottom of the list.

    Elite League Draft Riders

If you want to retain the protected status you have to say so before the picks, there are four protected status riders, they are limited to the first pick section whatever happens. If Poole drop his status and nobody else picks him, he's out.

    Elite League Draft Riders

They have to declare beforehand if they want to retain the protected status that he has, otherwise the rider becomes available to others, protected riders are limited to the first round of picks.

    Elite League Draft Riders

No, because Newman is then available for anyone else to pick and protected riders can only be in the first round of picks.

    Elite League Draft Riders

From today's newspaper.(Swindon Advertiser). The Advertiser understands four riders, Newman (Poole), Kerr (King’s Lynn), Adam Ellis (Lakeside) and Ashley Morris (Wolverhampton) are protected, meaning their parent clubs have first call on their services - but only in the first round of the draft. Coventry are set to get first pick in round one due to the fact they finished bottom of the league with the Robins going third last behind play-off finalists Birmingham and Poole. The team with the lowest ranked rider at the end of round one will choose first in the second round.

I think Worrall might go a bit further north. Good list though, It'll be interesting to see how many are right.

I see, That's a change from the initial statement then.

    Elite League Draft Riders

The riders are allocated, the clubs don't get to "pick", consideration IS being given to riders contracts and their locality.

Wrong on all counts! With the possible exception of the age. Why don't you concentrate on those who are more receptive to your "talents"? You encouraged others to follow you out of supporting British Speedway, is that a sample of your "marketing"? Can't get what you want so throw your toys out the pram? What you really are is a supercilious control freak. I wont waste any more time on you, I'm too busy looking forward to and planning to support what promises to be an exciting and interesting season.

I've often thought that of you. Doubtless your nonsense will continue, just because you didn't get what you wanted.

    British Speedway Promoters Meeting

Seeing as you have declared that you're not going to Elite league Speedway any more and that you are going to travel to Poland to watch meetings, shouldn't you now be on the Polish forums? This really isn't anything to do with you any more, is it? I don't tell Poles or Swedes or whatever, what to do. To be honest, I'm not that interested in them, I am interested in the 2014 proposals for the Elite league, I like the idea of more fixtures, more continuity and more Brits. I wish it well and am prepared to support it and give it a fair go.
  22. It takes away the managers right to make his own pairings.

I know a few....And they are ALL interested.

More fixtures, more continuity and more Brits. That is a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. You are obviously a glass half empty man. Anyway those that I'm aware of are keen to have a go at it, I doubt there will be many (if any) who turn down the chance.
