    Somerset 2017

up on the rebels site There will be an early Christmas present for fans of the 'Cases' Somerset Rebels with the news that the full septet for the 2017 season will be announced at a social night to be held at the Oaktree on Monday 5th December. The event will get underway at 7.30pm, entrance for which will be free of charge, and there will be a limited bar menu available for those attending who wish to purchase food on the night. "I know a few of our fans were getting a bit impatient regarding news on the team for 2017, but we prefer to ensure that everything is definitely in place before announcing any names," said promoter Debbie Hancock. "Now that we have reached that stage, we are pleased to be able to confirm that the names of the 7 riders will be revealed at a social event at the Oaktree on Monday 5th December." "Past team announcement nights have always been an enjoyable occasion, with a good gathering of fans there to hear the news first-hand, so hopefully we will get a good gathering on the 5th as we start what promises to be an exciting new chapter in the history of the club.”

BSP AGM states "based on Premier League figures, for team building purposes with a 50-point limit for the top division and 40 for the Championship." for team building purposes with a 50-point limit for the top division Does this suggest once a team is built something else will take its place

  12. Jenga carry on like this and you could become a honorary Rebel
  13. Totally agree Kyle was brilliant and very gracious when interviewed top man and got a great reception when he did a lap of honour. Sheffield certainly gave it a go last night and deserved there runners up award in more ways than one. Great performance Sheffield.
  14. Great post Paulco totally agree. Like to also say a Tigers supporter at the end, walk around the track shaking every somerset supporters hand that he could congratulating them. Top Man.
  15. Tigergirl excellent post true Glasgow supporter.
  16. BWD been beating the best this year had a brilliant year been getting 6 rides a meeting not all against reserves. Like i said in any other team he would be a 2nd string rider. Even when he was at no 2 he was churning out the results just unlucky to be in competition with anther "find" of the season Jake Allen.
  17. win some loose some ; got lucky twice at Glasgow.
  18. Fair dues Gazc i think its a minority issue and others stirring it. No gripes against the Glasgow supporters enjoy their company at the OTA.
  19. Fed up with reading BWD is a reserve yes he's a reserve with a 5 + average with riders above him with better averages in another team BWD could be a 2nd string rider. In other teams if their no's 1-5 are out injured they are replaced with a like for like average rider or at home average +5% so why not BWD . Other teams have used these "average rules" to replace riders sometimes to advantage sometimes against. As a previous post has said if Glasgow had won nothing would have been said. Take it on the chin like Somerset did at home the other week. Good Management skills in use here.
  20. i wouldn't i do it myself in mid summer it can be really bad (bloody holiday makers)
  21. Just confirmed Edinburgh v Somerset 16th Sept The recently postponed 'Cases' Somerset Rebels Premier League match away at Edinburgh has been re-arranged for this Friday (16th), the match also 'doubling-up' as the 2nd leg of the Premier Shield contest between the two sides, Somerset holding a 22-point lead from the 1st leg held at the Oaktree Arena courtesy of Somerset's 57-35 Premier League win over the Monarchs. interesting also same night Somerest reserve side are riding at Lakeside interesting to see the sides?
  22. now confirmed 3 guest + usual reserve guest The Rebels will, however, be without 3 of their team, Josh Grajczonek, Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright, on Friday night as they are required to ride for Elite League Swindon, whose match at Lakeside the same night takes precedent as, although both matches are re-arranged fixtures, Swindon’s match was re-arranged prior to Somerset’s match at Edinburgh, and in their place Somerset will have 3 guest riders, the Newcastle duo of Ludvig Lindgren and Victor Palovaara together with Workington’s Ricky Wells, whilst Nathan Stoneman will guest at reserve for Somerset in place of the injured Zach Wajtknecht.
  23. from Edinburgh site The Cases Rebels were, initially, unsure about coming to Scotland on Friday as they will be without some of their riders due to an Elite League fixture at Lakeside but their team manager, Garry May, is now convinced that he can put together a team to do them proud. Initial thoughts that Glasgow would be the visitors were quickly dashed as they have riders missing that would not have been covered by a facility. Matches against Glasgow and Peterborough have still to be arranged. so could be 2 guest and RR
