    Poole 2018

5.91 for Wozniak is an absolute steal, and will be a fans favourite straightaway. How typical the "old promotor" would want to get one over Leicester once again, I can just imagine the smirk on his face. And to think he still attends the Beaumont Park meetings, I don't know how he has the gall.

Just to clarify, I meant Kim Nilsson

Congratulations to Leicester for showing faith & loyalty to a pairing that can only improve in 2018. Newman in particular I'm pleased to see back, fully fit he will be formidable both home & away. Just waiting now on the signature of KN, if the numbers fit of course?

Come on Leicester, secure the services again of Newman. Popular with the fans, a 100% rider, who's good on home & away tracks.

Restricting teams to one 8.0+ rider is dumbing the product down and bringing the Premiership/Chamionship even closer together. If they're looking to level the teams out in the Premiership, once each No 1 has been signed, they might just as well introduce an NFL type draft system with last season's bottom club getting first choice. Complete nonsense.

Steady coming back to Leicester as TM?

Really? There's not even a 1,000 seats. Seriously though, I agree that the youth of today are the adults of tomorrow and we need to encourage many more to attend. The clubs having young riders as mascots works really well as they're of similar ages and can relate to them.

From what I saw of Lebedevs on the European stage last season he would be a terrific signing. Good enough for sure to be a No 5, so Nilsson would drop to No 3? He would definitely be a worthy replacement for Przedpelski who I, as previously stated, doubt will re-sign. For me Newman is absolutely vital as the number 6 berth is so very important.

    Leicester Lions 2018

My guess the next move will be for the Lions to resign Kim Nilsson at No 5, he did a great job last season but by his own attmitance he's not a No 1. I would take Prrzedpelski at 3, (at a heart beat), however I doubt he'll return but if he was to, there would be no solider 1st string in the League. A shoe-in then ought to be Kyle Newman at No 6, with MPT, Eric Riss or Bjerre at 2/4. Finishing off with the always entertaining (Mr 100%) Danny Ayres. With a lineup like that I would suggest a playoff place would be almost nailed on

Gotta thank the Sheffield connection for Vaculik signing. The management talked of obtaining a marquee signing as their No 1 and they've got one for sure. I'd also be happy for the Lions to share the services of Simon Stead as Team Manager. Any idea what Vaculik's average might be?

    Leicester Lions 2018

Couldn't agree more, there were a few lads putting themselves in the shop window last night. With the early investment coming in from Watling JCB, (very welcome I might add), let's hope they can secure some signings before others swoop-in on the best riders. We've the foundations of something really good here now let's push-on and make the most of it. Can't wait for 2018!
  12. Well that's certainly true and I seem to remember he dropped an almighty ***** at Wolverhampton earlier in the season. Bless him he means well, but the lad's completely befuddled & bemused as he clearly demonstrated in the post race interviews on Monday. One thing I was astonished at though was the fact the Lions had employed a total of 28 riders this season, a lot of misfortune granted, but no wonder we are currently the "strongest" team in the league.
  13. Being an avid Lions supporter not sure if I should admit I'm cautiously optimistic for tonight, not something I'm use to saying. The weakest link in the team presently is the Team Manger unfortunately, but maybe after Monday the penny will have dropped. His T/R decision making has been nothing short of diabolical, let's hope it's not needed though tonight. I predict another nail-biting experience ahead.

Rebels V Lions Mon 14th Aug

Credit must go to Scott Nicholls as DK said on interview he was going up & down the pits "Geeing" the lads up. Delivered on & off the track, great team man, but I also suspect he had Rye House's play-off interests in the back of his mind as well.

    Leicester V Rye House 12.08.17

After RH's thrashing of Poole on Thursday I wasn't expecting too much from the Lions, but Danny, Kyle and particularly young Josh came to the party. Congratulation lads and for once you weren't reliant on guests to provide the points. A great confidence booster going onto the televised meeting on Monday vs the Rebels.

    Bt Sport Coverage

First of all I applaud BT Sport for keeping speedway on our screens. In my opinion, their coverage is better than Sky's in terms of pre & post meeting discussions and Natalie, as we all appear to acknowledge, loves the sport and as a consequence has a good depth of knowledge. Steve Braddon is OK, but I personally didn't see anything wrong in Sophie Blake, (I particularly use to enjoy her interviews with Scott Nichols), but where they do need to improve is when two riders are on the last lap and going for the finish line, the camera needs to pan out quicker. It's zoomed in too close to the riders which is extremely annoying, a producer fault in my opinion, but hey what do I know. Other than that I'm thoroughly enjoying the coverage and you can't beat the banter between Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, they remain so enthusiastic about the sport and it's infectious, bringing energy into our living rooms each time. Others have tried it but their commentating has been dire. Well done BT Sport, iron out the niggling finish line camera issue and you're delivering a great product.

Leicester V Kings Lynn Saturday 5th August

Bewley has shown a touch of class & determination and has come to race, unlike the rest. Woeful performance by the Stars and their patched up team, feel desperately sorry for their paying fans. Absolute joke of a meeting 😡😡😡

    Leicester Lions 2017

Brilliant! If I wasn't laughing so much I'd cry. But to top it all their captain could possibly ride against them should there be a relegation/promotion play-off.

    Leicester Lions 2017

I literally have a rye (pun) smile whilst writing this, just when the Lions have a solid looking seven, injury allowing of course, and are hopeful of climbing the table, Somerset pick up an away win at Poole and widen the gap further. Couple that with Rye House's signing of 2014's World No 2 at reserve (absolutely ridiculous), who is the first visiting team? Leicester. I'm a great believer in "you make your own luck", but the Lions are going to struggle to get themselves off the bottom I fear. Still, never give up hope lads!
  20. "Our season starts on Monday", says Jim Lynch, well let's see. With new signings Pawel Przedpelski (what a signing) & Kyle Newman (terrific when fit and riding with confidence) it should certainly strengthen the Lions, however the Robins are on a roll at present both with and without Doyley. I just hope there's a good crowd for BT Sport to show, credit to the Leicester Management for reduced admission, because after recent events "God knows" the sport needs a boost.

Leicester Lions Vs Swindon Robins 17/07/17

They do have a pretty solid 1-7, but the new Lions reserve pairing of Riss & Bjerre should be stronger than Ellis & Wajtknecht and Nilsson should get the better of Bachelor, so it's down to Nos 2-5 to battle it out. Przedpelski needs to dial in quickly, anyone any idea whether he's put in some practice this week?
  22. The Observer

Leicester Lions Vs Swindon Robins 17/07/17

I see this as being a nail biter, something the Lions Supporters have experienced many times before. What's needed is to nullify their "track specialist" Nick Morris and out score Ellis who since dropping into the reserve berth is scoring for fun. If the Lion's heat leaders aren't all firing I can see a narrow Robins win, in which case where do the Lions go from here?

    King's Lynn Stars 2017

You ought to be a Leicester fan! They've a fantastic fan base, but are a perennial under achieving team and that's despite umpteen rider changes. Many say it hasn't been the same since the move up to the "Top" Tier.
  24. The Observer

    Leicester Lions 2017

Great to have Newman on-board (pun) as he's been a thorn in Leicester's side many a meeting, tough on DY though as he is a trier. I take it Kyle will fit in at reserve in which case Bates + Newman is a formidable pairing when fully fit and in form. There was a hint at 2-changes in which case Bjerre must be feeling extremely twitchy at this moment in time, if the rumour is true of course.
  25. The Observer

    Leicester Lions 2017

Everyone has their own opinion but for me Sarjeant's too much of a "gate & go" risk taker, which more often than not fails. Danny Ayers is the ultimate trier and races his heart out for each of his teams. I hope the Lions stay with him because my biggest concern is Garrity.
