  1. Leicester's Website doesn't yet provide a preview to tonight's meeting, so it just goes to show the interest shown from everyone. It's a racers track so maybe they can make a fist of it, Scotty has a point to prove after Monday night so if they can keep it within 6 I'd be chuffed.

For me the season can't finish quick enough as it's quickly escalated downwards to being a massive disappointment when there was so much hope at the beginning. I feel the club, management, supporters & the riders have had no luck whatsoever. Not at anytime have all the riders been on it at the same time and Hans I feel the most sorry for as he's ridden brilliantly home & away, no question Rider of the Season. (But then he's entitled to be, because he's the only original member).

  2. One remaining rider from the start of the season, only one word necessary and that's ruthless. I personally think it's tough on Kristian but I totally get it given his dramatic loss in form & confidence. Scott Nichols always gives 100% and in bringing in Josh and Connor (great to see him given a chance) you've got two riders bang in form and should prove a much stronger reserve pairing. I wish Stuart Robson well, but I'm not convinced he's a number 2 but let's hope I'm proven wrong.

Just one other point, Leicester from all accounts are slowly changing the track surface through adding more shale, is that going to best suit their new line-up or their opponents, because if they have riders who prefer it slick then surely they're handing the advantage to their opposition?

  3. This afternoon’s result has unfortunately shown that changes are necessary. Losing MV along with a number of injuries and absentees due to other commitments has completely disrailed the team. We are vunerable at reserve more than ever when the top 5 fail to score as hoped.

Kyle is struggling in the No. 2 berth & should be back at 6. Kurtz is ok at 7, but Sarg should be doing better and has to go (sorry).

Concerns still remain with the Captain, even though he’s just returned from injury.

  4. Have to give credit where credit's due. Perfect Team Managership by Roscoe, knowing exactly who to use & when to use r/r's and t/s. The additional rides for Troy & Tobias helped tremendously.. I personally expected more from Kenneth but very early days to be fair to him,  an encouraging debut from Todd, but I've huge concerns over Sarg. With Kyle moving to No.2 it's now really exposed the Lion's reserves should the top order not perform.

Swindon must have the strongest top 4 in the league i reckon!

Really? I feel the Lion's Vaculik, Andersen, King & Pieszczek once dialed-in to the UK tracks are at least their equal. All obviously hypothetical at this juncture of course.

  6. Top final signing by the Lions. This is easily the most balanced lineup we've ever assembled so huge credit must go out to the management and with many of the riders knowing each other I'm hopeful team spirit will be really good. "Give us a L".

If anyone should be dissatisfied at this lineup, then there's really no hope.

Sadly I don't think Klindt is the answer. He'll score 6 in the Premiership, 6 in the Championship and 6 in the NL. Basically he gates 50% of the time and is gone but misses it 50% of the time and can't pass wind. I've never rated him even when everyone had him down as a future GP rider. Nothing about him at all. Dull to watch and frustrating too. I've also made no secret of the fact I don't think much of Mason Campton. Bewley on the other hand, WOW! The kid just amazes me every time I see him, I love watching him race and young Kyle I was dubious about, 12 months ago I said to friends something along the lines of, "I've never seen him pass anyone. He's so good at U15 level out the start it's just too easy and that may be the worst thing thats ever happened to him as he'll bottle it when he has to mix it on the first bend now" well you know what? I was totally wrong from the videos I've seen of him in the NL, he CAN gate but when he doesn't he mixes it. I honestly think Comets fans will be spoilt watching these two get better and better each week. I know how much I loved watching Andrew Appleton and Chris Neath at Newport in 2000/2001 get better all the time - it's nice to win but it's more of a buzz seeing that lad you remember as a junior/second halfer/unknown/kid on the terraces racking up them points.

I honestly hope Workington have a great season because when it comes to passionate supporters, over the years I've not met many more passionate than the Workington lot. I spent a fair bit of time up there during the 2005 season and I loved it. It would be a crying shame to see all that passion fizzle out and a club close down.

Having witnessed Klindt as team captain of the Leicester Lions, I'd suggest you have a good signing. If nothing else, he's a team player and will pass on a huge amount of experience to the 2-youngsters, but he should score well for the Comets home & away.

Leicester have now got a complete team just awaiting to announce the last rider which will surprise a few as would not think he would want to come to the Lions.

That suggests he's simply coming for the money or his preferred club can't fit him in, rather than him having a liking for the track. I'd doubt we'd get the best out of him under those circumstances, unless he's fired up and out to prove a point of course.

  9. The hint I gave was not actually about Scotty but someone that may be at the bottom end of the team.

As I said it all depends if they go as I think they should for another heat leader and then this rider will likely be in at Leicester.

If not they may go for two 5-5.7 point riders

Another heat leader + Cameron Heeps would do me, if the averages fit of course.

  10. How can this be? If he is an old promoter , who was banned how could he personally have an asset base?

And still be allowed through the gates to watch the racing. Bolt the door and throw away the key if he's prostituted his asset to the highest bidder, I say.

Big loss to the Lions though if he's signing for Poole, as he's a great competitor & a terrific rider.

  11. It looks Poole will have two Polish riders in 2018 Woryna and Wozniak. Leicester tried to sign Wozniak but he belongs to the old Promotor who wanted too much money so I understand he is going to Poole.

5.91 for Wozniak is an absolute steal, and will be a fans favourite straightaway. How typical the "old promotor" would want to get one over Leicester once again, I can just imagine the smirk on his face. And to think he still attends the Beaumont Park meetings, I don't know how he has the gall.
