Eastbourne 'it First' Eagles V 'restart' Rye House Raiders (nt)
00000 replied to TurnTwo's topic in National League Speedway
Eastbourne Speedway social media now saying Hailsham town centre is choca-bloc - traffic slow southbound on A22 as well. Just seen they club has confirmed match will start at 3.30 Good advice from Sussex Bulldog on routes -
Lakeside is probably one of the most depressing stadiums you could possibly visit. Tired hardly does it justice. The approach road is dismal, the location poor, facilities meagre and it is inevitably cold. Who could blame anyone wanting to move in to the great facilities at Central Park. Just need a team to do it justice. The current Lakeside team is failing badly but it must be difficult to be inspired in a place like that.

Eastbourne 'it First' Eagles V 'restart' Rye House Raiders (nt)

If you are heading to Arlington there are roadworks on the A22 in the vicinity of the stadium The road is just northbound from Eagles roundabout to Diplock Way - the Hailsham by-pass which runs past the stadium turning. Probably to find an alternative route and give yourself more time. The road is closed because of a burst water main. Rumours that the water is being caught and put in a tanker for Rye House to take home with them are said to be wide of the mark. -
That's it then for Lakeside in 2015. Looks like wooden spoon is heading to Purfleet. They looked OK on paper before the start of the season but there were too many question marks. AJ's injury has been a blow but he was hardly setting the EL alight. Bech is struggling (as is the other Danish wonderkid at Leicester) and Eddie has never been able to deliver in the big races at the end of a meeting. Too late already to rip it all up and start again. Going to be a cold, bleak season for Lakeside Hammers fans, or what is left of it. The racing hasn't been up to much, either, which makes the situation even worse. Coupled with the cost of attending EL against £12 in the NL, I know in which direction my car will be heading - to Sussex by the Sea rather than the Dartford Crossing on a Friday.
-
Shut up shop then at the end of June on that basis.
-
Friday night come 10pm and Lakeside's season could well be over. Can't see them making any sort of challenge if they lose to Poole.
-
I'm not sure about Perks.

If saying rain when it was wind is the worst crime, Lynn fans have a lot to be thankful for. Some people are looking for a ruck
-
Probably just watching. Can't see him getting any gear from the Dugards.

Yes NL is super duper. Agree 100 per cent with previous two postings. The riders are magnificent. They want to be at Eastbourne and have so much time for the fans; no wonder the kiddies adore them. And the racing? Well I think we have already seem more overtakes this year than we did in the whole of last year in the EL. There's no lack of effort and settling for second and third...these guys race to the end. For the King's Lynn meeting there were more overtakes than you could shake a stick at. EL, nah. National League all the time. Come on down and see for yourselves.

Another big home win for the Stars but then Leicester are not much than PL at the moment, if that
-
Apparently Andrew's watering attempts managed to soak Eastbourne supporters. He'll be popular come Sunday at Arlington
-
Lakeside need to put up a show here. They are looking very vulnerable this year. Can see their season being over by the middle of August (again). Is 2015 when the Lakeside story ends?
-
Martin Dugard says the rain has stopped and the meeting is on.

Rule bending? Speedway? I can't believe such a thing

King's Lynn V Coventry 29th April

People "in the know" claim the track material put down is more suitable for stox than speedway. No idea whether that is correct. -

Never thought I would see the day when King's Lynn is described as having a poor track with poor racing. Ht 15 may have been a cracker but I can't see how one race can be worth the price of admission. That's an old cliche which wears a bit thin these days with the costs of watching a not particularly Elite league -
Can't believe what is going on at Swindon.

Proved his value in the pits against King's Lynn. Calm head when the adrenaline was pumping

If Lynn don't get the Bjerre situation sorted they can forget the league title. There is no time for messing around with only 28 matches. Elite looks pretty competitive this year and the top 4 race will be tight. -
A key for the Eagles will be to ensure all riders complete the 4 laps. No "offs" and no efs and no "disquals" Somehow I suspect Stoke are one of the weaker teams to come to town. Maybe totally wrong. Also, I think we could miss Dave Mason and Danny Warwick if things start to go go awry. Glenn Martin will have to keep the lads focussed

Brendan rides for Rye House so how could he be signed by Eastbourne? Or are you suggesting Brendan than would have been a far better better bet than Bradley Wilson-Dean?

Kings Lynn Stars V Swindon Robins 22/4

Time for those two to head south then to a small port somewhere in southern Britain. -
Anyone who hasn't seen the National League racing at Eastbourne should give it a try. More overtakes that you can shake a stick at. It is just how speedway should be.
-
More passes in this one match than we had in a month of EL racing. Super stuff from the Eagles. Agree with the comment about the KL boys. They battled hard and contributed to a great afternoon's racing.
