Barker confirmed at Plymouth -
Morley - In Starke - Out

Even though no meeting for the gladiators for two weeks could be interesting to see what hapens. we could decide to leave the team as it is give a final warning to a few riders and say they have a few meetings to sort it out. we could make some changes, interestingly roynon is being talked about being dropped by poole could look at bringing batch and another 2 pointer ( hagon or Killeen) and run with 2 2 pointers instead of turned but have batch instead of starke. Other than that I’m not sure who is out there, rew ? Hans Anderson ? Any other riders about there potentially available

To be fair starke came off last night and was holding his back every time he got off the bike after. -
Plymouth vs Birmingham : Championship : 16/05/2023

Yes we lost to Birmingham at home but no I’m not panicking yet. No need to over react. I didn't see people over reacting when we beat poole and Scunthorpe at home. do I think 2 changes unless they pull there finger out are necessary probably. could I tell you two riders to fill the void probably not so it’s a case of seeing what Gary and mark can do. no point changing for the sake of changing riders. we get the changes correct and have a good rest of season before you know it we will be in the play offs. -

How can you say Ben Barker is protected ? If his scores were poor could understand but I’d argue he’s been our best rider so far this season and wouldn’t be suprised if he gets to number one at some point. Ben Trigger is a 2 point rider and the most logical one. Gary may always seems to build a team with a 2 pointer in the team. They are not expected to score any points. The issue we have is not that trigger scores 1 point it’s the fact we carry two riders with a combined average of nearly 10. worrall, howarth, Barker and gilkes all pulling there weight. Trigger is doing as and what is expected. Turner and Starke are not living up to what they can and that’s the issue. There’s no need to panic only 2 league matches in, very easy to be reactive If starke and Turner are replaced it would leave 9.32 and the issue potentially is that there are no riders that fit this points. Gary and mark know what’s what and what is needed. On top of the above speedway is not won or lost in the first few weeks. -
This is on Wednesday. Im travelling up from Plymouth so hopefully it goes ahead ! could be an interesting meeting and maybe the reserves that score the most win.

Paul Starke testimonial at Plymouth tonight ( 4th April )
Doners123 posted a topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Taken from the Plymouth forum….. PLYMOUTH GLADIATORS :- Team Manager Garry May. Ben Barker, Dan Gilkes, Jake Turner and Kyle Howarth. CRADLEY HEATHENS :- Team Manager Will Pottinger. Paul Starke, Alfie Bowtell, Adam Roynon and Luke Killeen. SOMERSET REBELS :- Team Manager Ray Kear. Charles Wright, James Wright, Lee Complin and Matt Bates. POOLE PIRATES :- Team Manager Neil Vatcher. Richie Worrell, Danyon Hume, Kyle Newman and Ben Trigger. be nice to get the team on track in a fixture that’s not relevant for result but gives them good lap time around the place. -
Great news have you got a link ?
-
In that case Thomas for the 4 point Aussie
-
As apposed to searching through 10s of pages of some of which are rubbish. what is the predicted poole line up ? 1- worrall 2- 4 point Aussie 3- cook 4- cook 5- lawson 6 - roynon 7- Newman ?
-
1. Howarth 2.Gilkes 3.Barker 4.Starke 5.Worrall 6. 4.21 7. Trigger
-
Zane Kelleher ?
-
Maybe rumul and Roynon to finish. Really unsure the last 2 with 9.34 left
-
Personally think trigger is a good signing. He is not going to beat many but there’s more pros than cons. he won’t cost a lot coming from plymouth. he will understand he’s likely to only have 3 rides but when you only have to drive 10 mins down the road it’ll be fine and he will have a load of 2nd half races as well. he knows his way around Plymouth and he’ll beat a few of the other two pointers. hell learn and is willing to learn. May always was going to go with a 2 pointer historically and this makes a lot more sense than bringing someone from up north down.
-
When did Lawson ride at number 1 last year … ?!
-
1- Ritchie Worrall 2- Jack Thomas 3- Ben Barker 4- Dan Gilkes 5- Danny king 6- Alfie Bowtell 7- Natha Ablitt / Ben Trigger
-
No indication if they will or will not run a team. but just incase they do Plymouth team next year if GSA on BSPA website are correct, trigger and Roynon would be a good start.
-
Looks like a lot less meetings for Plymouth now in champ so very possible to have a NDL team.
-
I like this but realistically don’t think complin will be at Plymouth as much as I’d want him to be. maybe hav Kyle Newman at 4, gilkes at 2 and a 2 pointer at reserve with Alfie. That way Alfie, Dan and Lyle share reserve all season. with the home track advantage for scoring bonus points I’d like to think that team wouldn’t get beat to many times at home and build up a big enough lead to get the aggregate point.
-
This forum is getting beyond the realms of worth viewing any more as it just turns in the pointless conversation between people trying to wind others up. Shame really but come on here to see and discuss speedway and it’s just not a lot of discussion now about speedway. maybe it’s time for a new forum or this one to get it back on track.

I think Ben will be back to be honest. In regards to trigger he maybe a season to soon but I just think he’s local, he’s on a 2 point average plus it seems to be a way may builds his team. If he only has 3 races at home because the stronger reserve takes it then it’s not to far to travel home.
