  1. Surprised that Leicester have gone for Wolbert, would be surprised if he beat anyone on that list. If Doyle is fully fit after his injury then I'd make Swindon favourites

Your right, I'm a week or 2 behind in reading It was definitely mentioned in the issue with Leicester's team announcement

I'm sure I read in the Speedway Star this week that Lebedevs was coming in on a 7.00

    Tai Quits Team Gb

“I told them what I wanted to be enforced to take the next step as a team,” Unless either he or the BSPA explain what these ideas he wanted enforced were then it's difficult to attach blame to either side. On the points he's made in this article, firstly it's hardly a crime to be smiling on the podium in the WC final. Look at the pictures of the GP podium and Woffinden is smiling with his silver medal there so he can't complain that others did in the World Cup. None of the riders turning up to a fitness test he organised obviously sounds pretty bad. The question is did he contact the riders before to make sure they were available etc on that day? Eating in a pizza/kebab shop I can understand being frustrating if you're trying to be a professional but then I assume that the BSPA aren't responsible for eating arrangements. Maybe as captain it's something he should have discussed before with the rest of the management and said 'look, we should be eating a decent meal as a team - lets go to .... '

    Speedway And The National Press

Whilst it clearly leads to problems I don't see it as an issue for people not taking the sport seriously. It doesn't happen often I admit but in cricket you can have players loaned to other counties for one format of the game whilst still playing for their county in another. The problem is obviously the fixture clashes leading to missing riders not the actual riding for more than one team.

    Lawson Or Masters?

Both were at Somerset in 2015 and Grajczonek averaged over 2 points more at home than Worrall who struggled at the OTA all year. Average wise they might be similar but from a Somerset point of view who I assume primarily want a side to win home meetings there is no comparison. Add to that the fact that Grajczonek is captain and very popular, it would probably mean losing supporters! In this case I'm sure Richie would have a place if he'd been told by Belle Vue earlier he wasn't in their plans. For obvious reasons that couldn't happen and it's clearly not great for him but it would also be wrong to just dump a rider for no valid reason a month before the season starts.

    Lawson Or Masters?

Agreed.. Lawson also has the same average as Kenneth Bjerre but again there is no comparison between them. If they were at the same level then it would be a fair question to ask why it was the foreign rider who was preferred but in this case it's obvious and the right thing to do. Is it a shame for the likes of him and Richie Worrall that they don't have Premiership places? Of course, but at the same time they do still have places in the Championship and are likely gain a Premiership spot not too long into the season. The one to feel sorry for, assuming he's not at Belle Vue, is Stefan Nielsen who looks set to miss out in all 3 leagues and I would say that is wrong.

    Swindon Stadium

I understand why the apparent lack of progress with the stadium is worrying, but I don't see what would be gained from the Swindon management staying positive and optimistic if nothing actually was happening. If that was the case then surely they would be putting pressure on through the media, council etc to get things moving?

    King's Lynn Stars 2017

Although I assume Bailey would have been announced by now if he was the number 7, it would be a little ironic that Holder's average was supposedly too high for Poole but you could fit him into what would be a strong side with over a point to spare.

Speedway Calendars - What's The Point?

Not really different to other sports, any football club calendar could have someone who's been sold by the time it comes to the month they're on. I guess that's the risk you take when buying one. Or if you have photos of your favourite riders for example it's easier to just create your own.

    Gaming International And Torquay United

Gaming International have now completed their takeover of Torquay - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38339945 It seems as though it's been done without the deal to buy the freehold of the ground which is what caused them to pull out previously, but still you have to fear for the future of Torquay
  15. No idea what you're doing wrong but when I went onto the SGB website it works fine
  16. Well they've clearly copied football when changing the names of the leagues so they might as well finish the job by going with option 3 which is pretty similar to the EFL logos.

    Does British Speedway Have Future?

If you start to completely forget about getting kids to attend then where are you going to get future riders from? I know it's difficult for most clubs due to stadium restrictions etc but the best way to get younger people interested is to make it easier for them to try the sport themselves. That is the ultimate problem, it's easy to get them interested in football, rugby, cricket, tennis etc because it is so easy for them to do those sports. Clearly speedway is entirely different but there are clubs who hold training days for little or no cost and they should be heavily advertised more than the sport itself. Get them interested in the bikes and riding first.
  18. "I have no choice but to accept the decision, even though it has robbed the British public of the chance to see me in action. It's not about financial reward or anything like that; I just wanted to stage a meeting of celebration." Seriously? Nobody has said he can't have a 'meeting of celebration' just that he can't have a testimonial which is clearly the correct decision. If he wants the British public to see him then I'm sure he'd be welcome at Peter Karlsson's farewell meeting, celebrating a true legend of the sport.

    Somerset 2017

Unless it's happened already and kept quiet, it would have made more sense to sell Masters. If he wasn't going to sign for next season then it's unlikely he will in the future. Assuming a loan fee had to be paid for Wright, I would have left him out with Graversen. Danyon Hume on a 2.00 would then have left room for a Bridger/Buczkowski

    Somerset 2017

Hougaard is a decent signing but Graversen makes no sense at all unless someone is lined up to replace him when the averages drop. Disappointing side overall tbh but it's not as bad as some are saying. Sure it will take some heavy defeats away but at home the top 3 are capable of beating any rider in the league and Allen will be one of the strongest reserves around. In hindsight the use of last years PL averages hasn't helped. Tungate, Grajczonek, Wright and Starke have ended up with much higher averages and there is no 'bargain' such as Klindt, Newman, Kurtz, K Bjerre etc to level it out. It probably would have been best to lose a combination of Tungate/Grajczonek, Wright/Starke and Graversen, gone with a 2.00, Kim Nilsson/Kylmakorpi and whatever is left.

    Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News

Stadiums will be completely full in India once the ODI and T20 cricket starts, Test matches just don't get the support unless it's a weekend and Kohli is unbeaten on 99 overnight
  25. The Cheese

    Somerset 2017

Horton might have a lease but it looks as though he has an empty stadium and according to the Stox he has no intention of running and has told the riders he understands if they want to race elsewhere. Also, on the subject of Masters. Unless Wolves go with a pretty weak lower order I don't see how they fit him in now, Belle Vue is pretty unlikely so the other options are Leicester and Kings Lynn. He was obviously unhappy at being dropped before but he's still an asset and you'd think he'd have asked for a permanent transfer if he never wanted to return?
