    Guests & R/r

Maybe a limited time for exchanging a rider who´s injured may help in this case... Firstly the transfer deadline should be deleted. I think it didn´t work last season and was more a shot in the knee of some teams !!! There should come a three steps acting coming in to place for replacing an injured rider: 1. The injured one should be replaced by a temporary or full included rider within 7 days after the injury is declared 2. Matches between day 1 and day 7 after the injury is declared have to be covered by guest riders not attached to any other club of the certain league means a Championship Club can only use a guest from the Premiership who´s not declared in any Championsship Team and the other way around 3. if point 2. isn´t possible cause of unavailability of coverages a Number 8 (British Rider on National League Level) should be named at the start of the season and come into place Number 8 then starts at reserve, whereas the better of the two original reserves have to be put in the main teamThe same way should be followed if a second rider gets injured at the same time. With the only exception that the second Guest can be attached to another Championshipteam if point 2. isn´t possible... R/R should only be allowed if through unforseeable circumstances three riders are injured at the same time... What do you think ?

Agree with every point in your post, Incognito... the focus should be on british riders.,,totally comitted in riding their bikes and can´t be honoured enough for their ability shown... and their are enough foreign riders want´s to ride in britain without giving the promoters or anybody in the government any "good" advices how they should do the speedway business... so back to basic and don´t overload the fixture list...because less can be often more !!!

    British Speedway 2018

Shouldn´t that be the policy for the whole sport of speedway in britain these days ? I think less can be often more... As i mentioned before...one professional league with truly comitted foreigners in it and eleven to thirteen home matches (so a 12 to 14 teams league) in the basic round (+play off´s if needed) could suit any club... ...maybe some riders would come back if the calendar isn´t that packed !!! ...more space for reserve dates, if the weather isn´t that fine !!!

    British Speedway 2018

After the double up chaos in the last few weeks I can´t see two semi-professional leagues (Premiership and Championship) for next year... for me it is one league on professional level (call it what you will) and one league on national developement level... how many clubs are participating in the different leagues can only be decided by the clubs promoters (I can see 12-14 in the top league)...
  7. My thoughts on a elite draft riders system with four British Riders to choose for a league with 8-10 teams. All teams can pick 2 Riders of each Group.... 1st and 2nd choice will be their main drafts.... 3rd and 4th choice their reserve drafts... Riders with an average over 5.00 Points and older than 23 Years (namely C. Cook, E. Kennett and so on aren´t considered...) 1st Group: A. Ellis (20) 5,60 J. Jacobs (23) 5,14 K. Howarth (22) 5,13 J. Bates (20) 4,76 M. Clegg (19) 4,15 J. Serjeant (23) 3,81 S. Nielsen (22) 3,67 R. Branford (23) 3,00 B. Morley (22) 3,00 L. Carr (20) 3,00 D. Bewley (17) 3,00 Z. Wajtknecht (18) 3,00 T. Perry (23) 3,00 C. Mountain (19) 3,00 J. Shanes (19) 3,00 E. Perks (19) 3,00 A. Morris (22) 3,00 N. Stoneman (20) 3,00 T. Bacon (23) 3,00 G. Wood (23) 3,00 N. Greaves (18) 3,00 Ritchings (22) 3,00 D. Hume (20) 3,00 O. Greenwood (21) 3,00 2nd Group: L. Rose (27) 5,00 P. Starke (26) 4,94 S. Robson (40) 4,92 J. Auty (26) 4,90 C. Wright (28) 4,84 L. Kerr (26) 4,80 B. Barker (28) 4,54 A. Roynon (28) 4,00 C. Wilkinson (35) 3,74 R. Mear (27) 3,65 M. Williamson (24) 3,00 S. Boxall (29) 3,00 L. Payne (30) 3,00 M. Davey (26) 3,00 D. Ayres (30) 3,00 L. Bowen (30) 3,00 D. Halsey (28) 3,00 K. Hughes (27) 3,00 J. Knight (24) 3,00 L. Chessell (26) 3,00 M. Baseby (28) 3,00 B. Compton (30) 3,00 B. Wilson (30) 3,00 J. Cockle (30) 3,00 L.Priest (31) 3,00 L. Lanham (39) 3,00 How it should work: 1. Two Groups of riders are buildt for the draft (maybe like the ones above !!!). 1.1 1st Group consists of Riders are under or excactly 23 Years of age at the day the draft happened... 1.2 2ndGroup consists of Riders are at least 24 Years of age at the day of the draft and have got an 2016 average under or excactly 5,00 Points in the EL... 1.3 the minimum Average of the riders for both Groups should be over or excactly 7,00 Points in the National League... 2. the draft should start with the 1st Group... 2.1 before the first pick Riders who have ridden for an EL-Club in Season 2016 have to be declared as free or will be appointed to the club they rode for or owned by... 2.2 only 1 rider of each group can be appointed to every club (for example Lakeside have to decide between Rob Branford or Ben Morley)... 3. now the rest of the teams involved and haven´t got a rider appointed can place there choice in a controlled order decided by a draw... 4. all Teams should consider that they can´t exceed the maximum Average of 9,00 points together on their 1st and 2nd choice... 5. the draft afterwards should go on with the 2nd Group... 5.1 see 2.1 5.2 only 1 rider of each Group can be appointed to every club (for example Coventry have to decide between Adam Roynon and Ben Barker)... 6. see 3. 7. now again the 2nd Group of riders 7.1 from now on there can´t be an appointment to a rider, so all riders will be free for choice... 8. another draw will decide in which order the teams are picking riders 9. Riders of the 2nd Group are not picked are General Reserves 10. now again the 1st Group of riders 11. the draw for the 3rd choice (7.) will be reversed... 12. Riders of the 1st Group are not picked are General Reserves 13. The draft riders stay at the reserve positions 6 and 7 the whole season long; no matter what their average may be... 14. The first time their average will be taken in consideration will be the draft day for the following season 15. Every declared Line up have to include 1 Draft Rider under or excactly 23 years of age at least (draft day is crucial !!!)
