  1. Its all ifs buts and maybes but at the ends of the day we were simply not good enough. Congrats to Ipswich who fully deserved it, hopefully the Poole management can get rid of Kurtz and Holder as no team can win any meeting with a misfiring top two and far too many times this season they have been found wanting.

    Poole vs Kings Lynn 12/09/19

Well I have just returned home and have to say what a let down that was as upon arriving I find out that Robert Lambert isn’t here. For the paying punter it sucks and really is a kick in the teeth for British speedway. Fair play to young Chad he looked eager to please and gave it his all but the whole episode just puts a dark cloud over proceedings. I like my team to win but this spoilt what could have been an entertaining meeting. Oh well onto monday
  3. Maybe but Nico was caught and passed by both Becker and Morris down the back straight and never troubled them after that. I just don’t think that we have the pedigree of riders that wolves and Swindon seem to have. jack and Brady will no doubt improve but Brady again was found wanting in Heat 15. I just don’t see that sharpness and mental ability to deal with the pressure.
  4. A very poor performance by a team found wanting, I take nothing away from Wolves who rode as a team and were strong throughout. They out road and out muscled the pirates in every department. We just don’t seem to have that killer instinct and were simply blown away in the early heats.
  5. Nice to see Richie getting amongst the points but Josh struggling. Think Belle Vue just ran out of steam but its early days, Bewley looked good for his first few rides then tailed off but I.m sure that’s down to fitness. I thought Lidsey looked a promising prospect considering he has not ridden the track before but he attacked it. The rest of the Poole team got stuck in and were rewarded with a win which I”ll take at the moment. Very surprised with motm but maybe the sponsors saw something I didn’t”!!
  6. Every time we face Somerset Brady has a mare of a meeting so if Jack was Poole’s No8 I think the opposite is true! As already stated Richie is a concern and their are still too many inconsistencies within the team that will hurt us further down the line. Even Chris was a little subdued maybe cause the track wa slick and he had no dirt to work with. I was talking to Kevin Smith during the meeting and some of his observations were spot on. Let’s hope the lads up their game tonight and keep the score line close or maybe scrape a win, I live in hope!!!

    Somerset v Poole Prem B. 20/8/18

These are professional riders so if they can’t work out the racing lines after a couple of rides then clearly they should not be putting their leg over a speedway bike. I don’t recall the riders of the seventies moaning about tracks, they got stuck in and rode it. We seem to be making so many excuses for our riders these days but its still a motorbike with no brakes on a dirt track. We lost plain and simple and the riders have to up their game for us to be in a shout of the playoffs.

    Somerset v Poole Prem B. 20/8/18

I attended this meeting and the last Somerset v Poole and have to say this was very disappointing. Brady is having a nightmare at the moment but in all honesty and as has been previously stated, he is not a number 1 yet. Inexperienced and trying too hard, going for the big blast round the outside for three laps before deciding that's not working and switching lines by which time Covatti was gone! The amounts of laps he must have done round the Oaktree in the past clearly did not count for much. I do think he will improve but its unfair to say he is the next Darcy. Darcy was something else which I may never see in my time again. Its the inconsistencies that are killing us as a team, one rider gets going and others don't. To have your numbers 1 and 5 misfiring will not win you meetings, I was pleased for Kaspa god he must have had arms like a gorilla after four consecutive rides!! I was tired watching him but he never gave up and tried his best. Even Freddie on his first visit got stuck in and gave it a go. Somerset fully deserved the win and I have no complaints on that score. I have supported Poole for over 30 years and going on last nights performance I do not see this team making the playoffs unless we can reduce our inconsistencies. Maybe I'm wrong but that's my own personal view.
  9. It was a good meeting on a very hot night, riding over from Weymouth I could see my outside temperature gauge raising to near. 28 degrees at 7pm and I was hoping the track wouldn’t be a dust bowl. Fair play to the track staff as it held up very well in the conditions. Poole were deserved winners and although Leicester pushed them early on the team just clicked and pulled away with some incredible riding. Special mention to Bomber as I for one did not think he would enhance the team so I stand corrected, and it was great to see him standing at the pit gate congratulating riders going out and coming in, that’s what I like to see. There’s still some way to go and hopefully we can make the playoffs and in doing so give someone a run for their money!!
  10. First off I will say that I support Poole and have done so for over thirty years, my own personal view is that with the riders racing all over Europe the "Team" element is all but a name. Promoters seem quick these days to sack or temporarily remove riders at will regardless of how they are performing but at the end of the day its results that count. No one wants to see their team get beaten week in week out and promoters would be facing financial suicide if they were to leave the team unchanged. As the riders themselves say its a numbers game, I don't agree with all the changes but if it is within the rules then that is how it is until new rules are implemented by the powers that be.
  11. Well it was a boring meeting and we were very lucky to win, congrats to Belle Vue who really gave us a lesson in gating, too many Poole riders inconsistent but its early days and the younger lads need more time. as already stated Max Fricke reminds me of Leigh Adams with his armchair style of riding! Having seen Robert lambert over the years he is without doubt a very talented rider and the speed he generated at the pairs was uncanny. He is in the Darcy mould with his track craft and is will go far in this sport. I was also impressed with young Dan Bewley who never gave up and looked very tidy on the bike. I don't fault our riders for effort but its just not happening at the moment but hopefully they can at least give Belle Vue a match at the NSS.
  12. As a Poole supporter its very early days for the team as a whole, I like what I see but there is plenty of room for improvement. I went to the pairs and in my opinion no one would have got near Holder and Lambert as they were flying. I expected more from Brady but I'm not going to berate him for that, he tried his best as did Jack but in all honesty the were never going to make the final. I enjoyed the meeting and am always impressed by the speedy running of the meetings at Somerset. It will be interesting against Belle Vue as both teams seem evenly matched, its way too early to talk of play offs etc let the riders get some time in racing and see where we are in a couple of months.
