  1. .and in the same way that Scunthorpe may have done nothing to consider other teams then other teams do very little to consider the sport in the same way, when I think of occasions when promoters who ran on the same day used to work together to make certain that league championship deciding fixtures could run on the teams usual day rather than invoking the "we were in the league first" rule, do wonder where the collective willto help each other has gone. Scunthorpe hardly the only promotion who think little of the good of the sport as a whole but adopt the "eff you mate we are alright" style of co-operation, bearing in mind the fact that Scunthorpe have had a pretty awful year injury wise and are hardly going to win the league would it really do any harm for those teams, who if they ran would cause trying to find guests as being a real problem for Scunthorpe, to say we voluntarily will not stage meetings which would make the situation even worse without needing to be forced into not running that night. Invoking the "aren't Scunthorpe being selfish" line when the other clubs who were intending to run showed very little "esprit de corps" strikes me as being just a little blinkered.

    Rye House 2018

There has been mention there are no rumours of riders not being paid, may not be rumours but think that is mainy cos everyone at this stage is saying nothing that will make the situation worse, would not be surprised if the situation is not resolved favourably then we might find that riders are owed money.

    Rye House 2018

With regards to the way forward I cannot understand why UK speedway has not gone down a conference style system like the NFL so there is an element of local competition but also have some outof comference matches so that every so often you get to see one of the big nakes from outside you conference racing at your track and you race at thiers, it works perfectly for American football, then at the end of the season organise play offs again as per NFL, just having a few local meetings will not encourage a lot od fans as to speedway having a future if it is literally a handful of meetings every year as this seems to be the problem with a lot of clubs now, not enough fixtures to make speedway a "habit" for fans or to cover the annual leasing costs of a stadium. Whether Rye House have gone to the wall or manage to survive, this season's stupid number of Championship fixtures and the "only way to have a decent number of fixtures is to ride twice against the same opposition" in the Premiership does not excite anyone TBH, actually live in Ipswich by the time the next local fixture happens it wil be FOUR WEEKS between home fixtures, how do you instill any enthusiasm in new fans if they cannot look forward to seeing the sport otherr than once a month?
