Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May

Are you for real ? How do you think Redcar approach riders ? The same as everyone else you idiot !

Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May

Think you need to grow up. The Oxford promotion are far from that ridiculous comment and are showing the way forward in very difficult times for the sport. Tapping up ? It happens all the time, in every sport and more so in speedway. Who’s going to sanction anybody when it’s done by absolutely all of them from the top down, it always has done since the sport started.

Oxford Vs Redcar (league) 3rd May

Oxford thoroughly deserved their win , good solid points scoring throughout as opposed to the Bears but not a very entertaining meeting which was very disappointing as the track shouldn’t be prepared to stop the opposition , which was clearly the tactic by only watering the last six feet by the fence despite it being as dusty as a nomads pockets. Track ‘ grading ‘ took an age due to using the same driver/ promoter to use both vehicles then add in an interval , it did drag on after the late start. Still, an impressive home win and a very , very good crowd, Oxford are a certain play off team and Atkins and Jenkins very impressive British youngsters.

    Redcar v Scunthorpe BSN fixture

I never mentioned Jake, a chain, or Scunthorpe , but they did deserve the point, oh….and Jake DID shed a chain…..in a different race ! But you were right on ONE thing……Wright was sensational.

BERWICK v REDCAR (KO Cup) Saturday, April 1st

Prices….quite a few people , probably away supporters, last night were frustrated as no card payments on the gate and had to ask friends for funds.

    Birmingham Buffaloes v Redcar Cubs

Quick and steady at this level , not sure he’ll be banging in big scores in the NDL but he’ll do ok till he finds his feet. Not looking like championship level but not easy to tell on a couple of rides.

    Redcar v Scunthorpe BSN fixture

Three new riders trying to get used to a knew home track, let’s give them a bit of time. The away match at Birmingham showed they can score points, especially Jake Mulford, so let’s be patient. The Redcar track hasn’t been the same consistency two matches running due to the weather and length of time between home meetings so is difficult for newbies to get a perfect setting. Mulford has shown speed in every race he just lacks track craft as he’s still a novice at this level. Redcar are a patient club and will give the youngsters time to grow, unlike some, and good on them for it.
  9. Well you have had issues with wind but you told me the ‘damp patches overnight’ had been cured.
  10. You haven’t factored in the dreaded guarantee. Most 3-4 pointers will be on one so you ARE halving their income.
  11. I watch more amateur racing than most, and quite a bit of NDL, the IOW do have a sprinkling of NDL riders but so does Scunthorpe , Iwade and Redcar amateur meetings, doesn’t mean you get a viable crowd to watch.
  12. You sure ? making two dozen riders pay to ride and a hundred or so spectators half a dozen times a year isn’t go to make you a viable business.
  13. Who else wants to amateur events but charge the public to watch ? You think they would get a crowd ???
  14. Minor point but IOW jumped ship of their own accord , they were not expelled.

    Northern Junior League 2023

It’s still not a ‘MDL league ‘, it’s a challenge fixture between Birmingham and Redcar at best . As the MDL only used 500 riders the parents/guardian issue wouldn’t have a great deal of bearing , the NJL manages because of Jamie Swales getting the 125’s integrated into the league in 2013 which the MDL refused to do , very short sighted in my opinion. Also the NJL is run by the clubs themselves not ‘ghost teams’ although they did have Halifax and Castleford at various times in the their history.
  16. Wouldn’t know, just others making 2+2 = 7.

    Northern Junior League 2023

With just Birmingham and Redcar ? You can’t call that a league .

    Northern Junior League 2023

    Correct.

    Northern Junior League 2023

Well they shouldn’t be as it wasn’t difficult to work it out at the time, as long as you understood the rule. Shouldn’t be an issue this year with the change in eligibility. The MDL isn’t running so the SS may have space for NJL news for a change.
  20. Nothing of the sort. There isn’t any clubs looking at a breakaway league, simply the IOW wanting some competition running amateur racing in the south of the country.
  21. No idea, most clubs don’t own the stadiums they run in.
  22. Doesn’t add up though, does it? They , the SCB , are happy that other tracks run both so why not Plymouth ? The SCB or BSPL cannot stop a stadium owner hiring their stadium to whoever they please
  23. Presentation of some evidence that this has actually happened would be good . Several other tracks that run SCB speedway are also running Nora events so something doesn’t add up.

So you have’nt been for 6 years but are fully qualified to comment on what’s going on at the stadium ? Most ‘track staff’ are over 50 and if they need a ‘ break ‘, they need a ‘ break ‘ , but you can get all meetings over with in 80 mins when you take over from Phil Morris, can’t you ?

Breaks are sometimes taken to allow the centre green staff to use the toilet or even grab a cuppa , just remember they are volunteers !
