Horrible feeling in my stomach when Chivsy told me about our old mate Nobby. But it was soon replaced with a warm feeling... memories of some great one-liners and put-downs, a wry smile, and the knowledge that he's now out of pain. Nobby, I salute you... You were an extraordinary, devoted, hard-working gentleman and it was my pleasure to have met you and known you. Rest in peace son, rest in peace

World U21 Goes To Argentina
Steve Turner replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Some would say if a young rider is serious about a career, he has to invest, he has to work to get sponsors, he has to accept that free holidays must be earned. Try and get up the ladder, or just play around at the bottom... Not me obviously -

Dodgy would describe the surrounding area quite well....but the track is amazing ! Yeah it'll need a bit of work, but nothing major. And the Argentine fans are just brilliant November's a good time to go as well, perfect weather. -

It's fair to say it's a breath-taking track They could have 8 riders in a race easily -

It's bad news for the sport that Poland are sticking with old silencers. Simple as that.

This will no doubt get discussed elsewhere, but that's got nothing to do with silencers. That's Dawid running to the PZM with complaints about Eastbourne -

I haven't read or heard anything about it specifically, so maybe you're right. However, my assumption would be that due to the line-up, this had to be an FIM meeting...therefore, due to the existing dispute, there is no way Adam would have been allowed or insured to race. -

Great shame to have any injury come from what looked like a good meeting to honour Mark. Unlikely to get any firm news on Alex until tomorrow. Fingers crossed -
Awful news and a great shame to lose a racer. My heart goes out to his family, friends and fellow riders who will all feel the shock Vila i frid, Peter

On March 30th, Tomasz is due to become an ambassador for his country, in relation to their part in hosting the 2012 European Football Championships. Personally, I can fully accept his position and I'm sure he's very sorry that he can't ride for Mark and his fans. It's just very unfortunate timing. -
Don't worry about it Malc, these things happen. I'm more interested in how you do your eggs

I'll answer a couple of them Phil, as I've been to L'viv and it's very close to Chervonograd, and also very close to the Polish border. The best airport would be Rzeszów in Poland (Ryanair from Stansted ?), head East on the E40 into Ukraine and then turn left ! About 2 and a half hours (discounting any hold-up at the border)

I've no idea how likely it is. But there IS the possibility that the FIM will insist that all riders use the new silencers in every competition. While the PZM-riders may choose to break that rule (and face suspension from anything outside of Polish League racing), there is no way non-PZM riders will do it, because it would ruin everything else for them.
-
I don't think he does, no While the PZM can insist on their licence holders using the old ones...the FIM can equally insist on all other licence holders using the new ones ! Then what happens ?! I believe that's what our friend f-s-p was asking
-
I seem to remember you've asked about him before, Kev Unfortunate timing really, the man himself was at the Peterborough quiz night a couple of weeks back. Someone could've asked him
