    Sheffield Tigers 2022

I for one am so sad thast we will not be having Danyon Hume back in our team next year. He tried so hard and is an out and out racer. I think that he has the potential to improve a along way. Thankfully he has got a Championship place but as of yet no Premiership enquiries. If space does open up at the lower end of the team during the season then I hope he would make a return. He is such a nice bloke. Thanks for all the effort this year Danyon

Replying to Moranboys this is the probem we have. Sheffield Speedway only existes on the money that is taken on the gate and sponcership plus the money from the pockets of the owners. Its all very well haveing such a fantastic stadium it does come at a price. I'm not knocking it I love the place and have done since 1967. It is the same with all tracks that are tennants. All those teams that have the luck to own their own stadiums do have a distinct advantage as they take the profit of everything that is sold in the stadium. The Bates's may not be everyones cup of tea but they and Peter Mole have done a fantastic job since they took over I just hope that they can find someone even if they can't find a buyer to work with them to ensure the continuation of the sport here in Sheffiel.

    Scunthorpe 2019

As far as I know Kev Doolans fork covers are available for short (ie one meeting) or longer term sponcership so that those with very limited amounts of money have the oppotunity to help him and be recognised for it. Anyone interested contact Kev direct.

    Sheffield 2019

So sad that we have gone to Sunday. For me it is just impossible to do, so I will have to finish my 50 years of followig the TIgers including many hours helping up and comming ridrs on the training track, and being on the spanners with the likes of Adam Allott, David Speight, Emiliano Sanchez and many others. I hope not to loose touch with speedway but for me it will have to be Scunthorpe if they have any Friday meetings or Belle Vue on Thursday nights. I wish the Tigers all the best for the future.

Not too bothered who promotes / runs meeting it means that I see racing on at least 20 occasions. As for what "Third man" calls nothing meetings I just love to see the guys doing their thing on the bike whatever level.

For those of you that weren't at the STAARS meeting last Thursday Peter Mole announced that due contractual reasons with the stadium there would be at least 20 meetings at Sheffield this year.

Halifax Tiger, did you ever see Adam Allott ride Buxton. Attacked it every time.
  9. Gorgie is doing very well. Apart from one meeting he has scored every time. He listens to the good advice he is being given and because of his grass track background is not afraid of the speed around Sheffield. He has shown total commitment by a large investment in engines and as a long time Sheffield supporter am very glad that he is with us.

Just having an Anorak moment in reply to post 15 by GRW123 I fully agree with your description of Neil Street but I think that he did not invent the 4 valve engine. I my memory serves me right I think that you will find the 1932 Rudge speedway engine has 4 valves. Sorry to be off topic. All the best Relic

I may be wrong but I believe that Brady is a Poole asset. So I would think that if he were to move anywhere it would be there. I think that his many appearances for Sheffield were due to his conections with Peter Mole. But like many others I think that on some nights he was worth the admission money on his own. So a big thankyou for all you did for us this year Brady.
  12. What a fantastic nights racing. But you can only get a night like that when you have the track to do it on. Well don to Eric, Graham, and farmer John for producing the best one of the season. And that was after Stock Car meeting. Well done and thanks
  13. 6:06 3 miles from track. Sunshine and some dark clouds but as yet no rain. Radar looks hopeful that we will get a full meeting.

If my understanding is right, and it may not be, Ian Hunter acted as Neil's representitive in Sheffield while he was in Australia

    New Rider For Sheffield

Jake had taken a leaf out of Damien's book. He had done many laps at places like Kings lynn and Mildenhall which were nearer to where he lived. I was in the pits with him at nearly all the home meetings and some away and can only say that his and Richard's commitment to Sheffield was first class, the equipment was top flight, and he was a great team player. As has been said in other places Jake was in the wrong place at the wrong time, this should have been a no preasure training year with a view to making a significant contributuion next year. But due to the situation of the with the team as a whole he pressurised himself to try and punch above his weight, and we saw the effect of that. Jake and Richard were a pleasure to work with and I just hope that a way can be found for Jake to continue in the sport. Jake< Richard thanks for the oppotunity to work with you. All the best. Rob
