    Supporters Clubs

here's a radical idea for speedway tracks//promoters, let the supporters club of your team run the track shop.

    Supporters Clubs

supporters clubs should be a vital part of any sporting club, there main function should be the "bridge" between the owners, the riders and the supporters. A good and healthy speedway supporters club should be raising around £30-£40k a season, its not rocket science and is easy to organise. The problem is that some members on a supporters club need to realise what they are trying to achieve and not have their own interests at stake, get that part right and you are on your way!

    New Track For Milton Keynes

Fantastic news for all speedway fans and more importantly MK speedway/motorsports fans. I find it hard to believe some negative comments, MK as an area has changed out of all context since speedway was last in MK, also our beloved neighbours in Oxford and to a degree Reading have sadly disappeared which in theory should mean there are some die hard speedway fans on our borders!!....for those that are saying MK and MK sports are not well followed by the natives, I can tell you that the ice hockey team in the Town has a good/large and strong following, in excess of a thousand people a week in attendance, I would of thought most Premier and possibly some Elite promoters would welcome that sort of crowd with open arms! One thing that would be interesting to know is where about's the track would go?...I know that the greyhounds are re-opening at the Towcester race course, so I'm guessing this is purely a purpose built speedway/motorsports venue? Great news and well done to all concerned.

    Rider Fashion

I think there was and is!!..can't think of many that have had as much green on a suit as Wiggy....can aslo remember Nigel Sparshott wearing mainly white leathers as well which were different to most.

    Rider Fashion

I can remember the Mildenhall fen tigers riding in team coloured leathers with tassles!!..might of been around the mid 80s?..plus can remember Wiggy in the bright green leathers that were "different" to the norm!

    Milton Keynes

as far as I'm aware there's nothing new on the speedway front in MK,there's various hats being thrown in the ring for other sports/arenas,but it appears a lot depends on the outcome of the casino licenses being granted, but there is still no news of speedway in any of the ones I've heard.
  7. just a quick note to thank all the fans who purchased official Jason Crump merchandise from our stand on Saturday,we were over whelmed with the response to Jason's latest range of merchandise. Towards the end of the day we had sold out of many items and several fans left empty handed,I am pleased to say that Jason webshop has been updated and many new items have been added and can be purchased on line!! The site is www.jasoncrump-shop.com Once again many thanks to all those who visited the stand on Saturday. Dave.
  8. having looked at the line-up,this has to be one of the best if not THE best line up for a testimonial, let's hope the weather is good and that us the supporters turn out in our droves! Good luck to Sean and here's hoping that it is the success he firmly deserves.

    Redloh Racing Australia Release

good luck to both James and Chris on there upcoming meeting,do either of them have plans to come over to the UK next season to give it a go?? All the best, Dave.
  10. Thanks for the kind words Ken and whowasthatberntpersson, really appreciated. Ken,works rider!!!...I'm not sure Chris would have much protection in a embroidered fleece as opposed to kevlars!!
  11. I enjoyed last nights twenty over slog match, sadly these type of games have very little in common with the test matches that are oh so important. Even so it makes a welcome change to be looking forward to a Ashes series with which we should at least give them a game!! Regarding the speedway,I fully expect them to at least have two in the top four come the end of the season.

    Crumpy

Oh please, you honestly think that Crumpie who needed to win the race to have any chance of progressing would go all out to nail Pedersen??....take another look and you will find he caught a rut which drove him across the track, the same rut a lot of the riders were using to gain extra drive during the meeting, but hey-ho I guess we can all read different things into different scenarios? Sure Crumpie had a disappointing meeting and is playing catch up on Tony, but $hit happens in life and it's not the end of the world but I'm sure the guy will bounce back and still give his enormous amount of supporters a great deal to shout about between now and the end of the season. .
  13. hey Anth, don't worry about the time side of things!!!...just think you'll have plenty of time on your hands when Harmison converts a five day test match to just three!!!...was speaking to alot of Aussies yesterday who shall we say "were full of it" in terms of an easy Ashes win for you guys Let me know when the Redloh Racing shop is on line so that i can have a look
  14. Hey Anth, why you looking at Leighs gear!!...stick with Jasons you know it makes sense!! Had a really good time at Cardiff selling Crumpies gear, the amount of youngsters that came upto the stand was unbelievable, and above all the general feeling we received was that the vast majority of them think the world of him, which can only be good for the sport and Jason himself.

    Crumpy

you are correct in what you say about him being the current world champion, however you are far from correct in stating he acted like a petulant little baby,as far as I can recall he acted in a professional manner in trying circumstances, perhaps I missed it but what did Crumpy do wrong? I do take umbridge with your sweeping statement of saying he is a disgrace and a black eye on the world of speedway, unfounded, unwarrented and a pure figmant of your tiny immagination. Good luck to Tony who looks odds on to take another world title, the only bad thing is that the grand prix series looks all but over in early June. A big thank you to all the supporters who came into the collectors fayre today.
