    Rye House 2016

For my liking, BMR's tenure contains too many similarities to BSI's tenure at Reading (including changing team colours and nickname without considering the views of supporters) and we all know how that turned out............................. People have made their views of John Sampford very plain in the past. Given what's happened since BMR bought the club, John being given the heave-ho is no real surprise to me but the timing is appalling on several levels. Given the awful last few years for the Rockets generally and the experience since BMR's bought the club, it hardly breeds confidence or enthusiasm.

I guess that Klindt does not, after all, "share the excitement of our future plans at Rye House." Nor that he "wanted to work together and have fun tgether, and be more than the sum of the individual parts............................" Current and future employers take note!

    Rye House 2016

Wasn't NBJ a Len Silver signing in his role of responsibility for Rockets team matters? With what appear to be the circumstances surrounding Len's departure as implied in his public statements, is this an indication that now the new owners have formally taken over the promotional reigns they are now seeking to establish 'their' team and move away from 'Len's team? Mind you if that means no Bowen or Boxhall, I shan't be crying into my beer. Be interesting to see what side they eventually announce but 'not requiring' NBJ for 2016 is consistent with Warren Scott's statement regarding the signing of Lambert being “just one part of our plans for the future." It implies he was signed with a view to 2016 and it is likely that he and Edward will spearhead the 2016 team. With NBJ being such an entertainer with the potential to 'do a Linus' next season and it being obvious that his departure would be something that many supporters would be disappointed about it isn't good PR for Rye House not to have made their own announcement however brief about NBJ's departure. Uncle Lennie was often criticised on this forum regarding a lack of proactive communication with supporters so maybe BMR aren't so much more media savvy than the octagenarian Mr Silver!

    British Speedway Promoters Meeting

Only those dumb enough to turn up and pay the admission. Buyer beware!! STOP PRESS - The Elite League was today confirmed as being on a life support system. Mr Fraud described its condition as "satisfactory." Hmm. A few years ago didn't Mildenhall & Rye House get shafted because other promoters didn't like the fact that Jon Armstroing & Steve Boxall were doing well. Still, it couldn't happen again could it?

    Rye House 2013

Nelson must be greatly heartened by some of the remarks on here. Rye House supporters will recall the exciting racing he provided in 2011 and the tremendous improvement and potential he showed. if I recall correctly the court case in 2011 that was the subject of so much interest and misinformed speculation by the usual 'experts' actually involved residents of Canterbury and I am not aware that Nelson lived there. I'm looking forward to seeing Nelson race for the Rockets in 2013 and wish him and all of the team the very best in the season ahead. Congratulations to Jason B on another NZ championship - thanks for posting the result Lord Skid.

We may not win the league next year but with Josh on board we could take on anybody if due to rain offs the title is decided by a game of scrabble......(delete double points ride and insert triple word score....)

It was deliberate so I guess that means it isn't a typo. In fact the whole of my post was completely tongue in cheek (pretty much like everything I post on here!).

I'll be at the main entrance on Sunday with a petition calling on Len Silver to stay until he is 150 years old. Shadders, on 21 October 2012 - 05:42 PM, said: "Sadly, Mr Silver will have to do without my £16 after his character assassination of me in the Herts Mercury. " Me & Westhamboy will have a toast "To absent fiends......"

    Rye House 2013

Despite the scepticism of some when the team was announced, the fact is that we have been on the cusp of the pay-offs for a reasonable part of the season. But my goodness it really has gone over the cliff from July. Are we really going to finish bottom? With only home & away matches against Edinburgh to go & the need to get something from at least one of those matches there is a real prospect of this. Still, we could do what Johnnie Hoskins would do - deck the wooden spoon with blue & yellow ribbons and parade it proudly! Still if you only look back, you'll only see your own shadow. So what about 2013? One thing is for sure, if history repeats itself we'll know the team immediately after the points limit for 2013 is confirmed. Last nights Len's Lines indicate that the basis of the team next year will be: Mellgren Lykke Garrity Nelson I think that would be a good starting point with a lot of potential for improvement on their starting averages and great potential for entertaining racing. They will go to any track home or away and give it a right go! As Bunyan was purchased my hunch is that he will be back next season unless he finally clears off to NZ. I thought he was worth a punt this year on his average and I was expecting more. Maybe if he's back next year we will get more. Or will we get another Ritchie Hawkins? Personally I'd give him another go. As for the rest I guess it depends on the points ceiling and how close Len wants to go to it, (my sense is that Len builds a team on the basis of people and not the averages numbers game). Having spoken with Chris Neath at Rye the other week it is clear that he is an awfully long way from being fit enough to ride even if he wants to after such an injury that bad as it is really could have turned out so much worse. Luke Bowen has already been ruled out until at least June so will Len do one of his interim arrangements (as per Boxall in 2011 & Nelson in 2012) as he is on record as saying that as long as Luke wants to ride for Rye there will be a place for him? I think there is a reasonable propsect of Leigh Lanham being a Rocket. I cannot conceive that he will be back at Ipswich and given his brief Rye adventure this year and his experience at Ipswich I have a feeling that he may well end up at Rye in 2012. I'd like a proper number one and I think many were surprised that Len signed Gjedde. I'm not that bothered about Gjedde coming back and when Rye have had big hitting number one's it has normally been through the natural progression of talented young riders like Tai and Linus. As for the rest, I couldn't care less about the format of the pre-meeting parade - just get on with the meeting! I also want meetings to be run promptly. The Development League matches have given an impetus to get on with it & long may that continue. I like a programme. Rye's has improved in relation to photographs but I would like to see interviews / profiles of the Rye riders. Also the paper is such that the impression of my writing on the scoresheet makes an impression on other pages. Aaaargh! I agree that Craig Saul is a good announcer. I just wish he'd stop these ridiculous nicknames for the riders. I agree that rider interviews would be good (as long as this does not mean that Bryn takes over the announcing!) As for the Rye website, this is shockingly bad but I'm not holding my breath for any improvement. I'd love to be proved wrong. Finally my most earnest wish for 2013 is - 'Chris for Prime Minister'. The campaign starts here....... :D

'There you go' refers to the quote by Pirates of Poole that Jordan Frampton is not coming back to speedway. (I hadn't got the hang of the multi-quote so that may have not been clear !! ) I have no is reason to suppose that Pirates' quote is anymore or less reliable as any other on the forum. I actually hope that Pirates is wrong and that Jordan does give it another go - but only if and when his head is right for racing, either at Rye House or somewhere else. Anyway not ot worry. Nelson will be back any minute...................... :D

    Rye House 2012

It saddens me that the retirement of Jordan Frampton hasn't produced one positive comment about him from so called 'supporters' of Rye House. People slag riders off and then have a go at perceived disloyalty at the timing of him quitting. Hypocrtical or what? And in any event speedway riding is no place for anyone who's heart isn't in it. I am sorry that Jordan has quit. I have always enjoyed watching him race - an exciting style and an entertaining rider. I was delighted when he joined Rye House - it was he that approached Len Silver about joining the Rockets. It’s a shame that his career hasn't kicked on as hoped. For sure he is a better rider than we have seen this season. I thank Jordan Frampton for the entertainment he has provided hope that as has already been suggested, a break from the sport might see him refreshed and ready to race next season, with or without a Rye House race jacket. Personally, I'd welcome him back.

Don't build my hopes up.......... Well, if the startline girls are a reflection of the strength of the host speedway team, Monday should see a startline girl line up of: Hilda Baker Irene Handle Rita Webb & Peggy Mount Am I showing my age or what????
  20. Thanks Shadders. Unless you know its there how would people know of its exitance and it does beg the question why the either the link on the BSPA website or the link on the 'Rye House' site accessed via the BSPA site doesn't take you there. But don't get me started.....

    Speedway World Cup 2012

It seems that Mr Louis didn't listen to himself. How many young Brits have been given a chance at Ipswich in the Premier League? That said they have to be good enough & the dearth of young British talent & the reasons for it is very sad and condemns us to be 'B' league & heading for the 'C' league so far as team and individual international competition is concerned. It is also difficult to see how this trend will be reversed. On the bright side I have seen Robert Lambert ride in between races at Rye House. He looks tremendous. The knack though, is to turn potential into performance & it is interesting that he is racing on the continent rather than contest the junior competitions in the UK. Again, what does that tell you?
  22. I couldn't find it on the BSPA site. It should be absolutely prominient on the site to prevent fans making unecessary journeys. But that would imply that the BSPA is something other than a shambles & that they have some consideration for the paying customers. I think that we all know the answer to that one. I did go to the Premier League Clubs link for the apology of a website that we (I am a Rye house supporter) have & followed the link to the local rag which did have an itme about it being called off. You really couldn't make it up when it comes to the amateurism of the sport in this country......
