ELRC - Change of venue
Boardrider replied to SCOOBYDO's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Overall its a great move, Sheffield's promotion would have only stuffed it up and made a mockery of it... -
At least the Danes have a bit of backbone and spirit; alas the Brits are really struggling, Bomber seems a nice kid but not with the killer instinct needed to get to the top of the tree...Nichols is just a bag of excuses really to roll out every time.....perhaps his biggest fan is right about him, begger?

I was reading somewhere that if either of the Brits get injured then Lee Richardson is next in line to replace them -

New Points System For Gp 2007
Boardrider replied to tomazpozrl's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What would cause a stir for 2008 would be if Bomber manages to score more 'GP points' than Nicholls but neither of them qualify in the top 8. Will Nicholls give up his demand for a place in favour of the future of British speedway? Will he buggery.. Here's to 2008 with Simon Stead and Chris Harris representing GB and the likes of Nicholls, Loramski and Richardson a mere distant memory.... -

New Points System For Gp 2007

Well interesting debate reading the thread.... seems to me... 1. Nichols is very lucky to get a wild card 2. Sub seems not too keen on his talent 3. The scoring is a bit flawed, but so was the previous system however it occured to me if Nicholls was Finnish, then this whole debate wouldn't have happened....Nicholls is geting favoured as he's a Brit no doubt about it and whether he's be there on merit is well open to interpretation. Anyhow, its livened up the last hour reading this thread, so cheers Sub and cheers to the people who feel the 'need' to protect Scott's reputation....does he really need it? -
Speedway at the seaside is a total non-starter. Look how successful Skeggie was recently...

He always used to scrap the fence on bend 4 as well.....not unlike a lot of our foreign inports in the period....Johnno was a nightmare when he first started although he preferred to get close to the fence on the second bend, usually on lap 1 too

British Selection For 2007
Boardrider replied to Gaz W's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The whole argument will be solved when 'eddie' gets the nomination and leaves Scott to sit it out for the season does anyone know when the nominations are to be made? -

I fully agree with you, there's something a amiss in the world of speedway, how the sport is wrestled back is another matter -

If Nichol's did miss the series (07) then would Sky still be pushing the sport as they have been? No GB representative in the GP would have quite a few viewers turning elsewhere and thats the last thing Sky want and as they seem to call the tune. Expect him in, no doubt and possibly a second GB rep too. -
No great shocks in that list, except perhaps Lee Richardson being so high? It occured to me that the US will disappear off the world stage once Greg hangs up his helmet
