  1. There is no doubt that the crimes Jason committed were appaulling to say the least  but what chance has he of putting things right if society won't give him anopportunity to do so .He has served the sentence given him and the stigma will always be there for the rest of his life .I was just as shocked as everyone else when the details of his actions became public knowledge but I do think that he should be given an opportunityto demonstrate his rehabilitation( whether that be in s/way or any other form of employment)  and make some positive contrubutions to society which will allow people to ultimately"  possibly" forgive but not forget his transgressions.

The change of point scoring system in the GPs has taken away the importance of squeezing every point out of a meeting and placed the emphasis on reaching and winning finals.

Therefore it’s no coincidence that Zmarzlik does what he needs to in the heats and then comes on strong for the clutch heats. IMO the scoring system should be changed back. It puts more jeopardy on every race of the series for each rider. In theory that would produce more competitive racing.

IMO he would win whatever the scoring system !

Ipswich need to be harsh with Doyle. He is 38 and is not going to get any better.

I would go for Artem Laguta or Maciej Janowski.

Imo Doyle will be around for few years to come his GP days may be coming to an end but with regards the UK he is one of the top performers and has loyally ridden here consistently for many years . Whilst I am not a particular fan I do appreciate he is a points machine especially in the British league and I am sure any team would welcome him with open arms .

They should get those four to do a couple of match races in between breaks of the main meeting. Nobody would expect a fast competitive race, but I’m sure the Wolves fans would just love to see them on track. I’m sure they could all still slide a bike around the bends.

Think it would create more interest than the main event a real treat for everyone if that happened hope the night goes well and the weather is kind to you ,I for one think the loss of Mon/Green is a sad day for the sport .

But he was 5 times world long track champion, that may have been the problem. Not all could do both speedway and long track at the very top level. Seems like Simon Wigg was one of them. Get hold of his book if you can, a very good read.

Wiggy  probably made more money  on  L/track riding in Europe on grasstrack  as well ,think the same can be said for Kelvin Tatum a bad injury early on  plus racing L/track effected his S/way  career but not his bank balance I suspect .

    Pedersen. Doyle

IMO these riders( both have been WC  there is no  doubting their ability ) are not what I want to see in the sport and I hope that the next generation move on from this type of riding I am not against robust actions but don't like the fact these riders trade on fear , I often think riders who adopt this attitude are making  up for a lack of skill /ability to some extent  .

The sport is dangerous enough without riders almost deliberately setting out fence another rider ,there are always going to be occasions when mistakes are made  riders knock others off but not just because they won't allow another rider past there is blocking  and there are  deliberate actions that can lead to carnage plus serious career ending injury .

It seems ironic that both of the above riders have had a number of serious  injuries during their careers ,I  just wonder how many they would of had if they had not adopted this IMO overly aggresssive riding style and how many WC titles NP would have won .

Yes, seriously. You've named 3 riders who are currently good enough to be in the GPs regularly. Jack Holder is 28 at the start of next season, far from retirement, but also not a youngster.

Drabik and Smektala still have time? They're both 26 next year and are nowhere near GP level.

"Gusts and others" - care to name any of the "others"?

I watched Pedersen in Vojens yes, but as I also said the SGP2 was the worst field in many years. Keynan Rew was a race away from winning the thing and yet couldn't get past a 4.00 average in Britain.

Tell me where all this potential is? Maybe netball is a good idea come to think of it.

Unfortunately for them all  Bart is only 28yrs old and may well still improve  barring injury he could  be around for at least 5 more yrs plus at this level .

Barring injury/someone stepping up/Zmarzlik's standards dropping you can certainly see him roaring past Mauger and Rickardsson, though they had tougher opposition.

Having watched the sport for many years I think that the standard of riders across the sport  particularly in  Poland are as good as they ever were .IMO Bart is just so much better than the rest plus he has matured and is consistent  which is crucial in winning world titles  on a regular basics .

Crashed in Polish final on Sunday. Looked like he was knocked out and very battered afterwards

Yes Tai really looked knocked about had quite a few injuries  recently wonder whether he is considering his future ,would imagine he is fairly well set up and has a number of things going on outside of s/way .

The appetite for sponsorship has changed significantly, especially in the current climate.

I have a friend whose father-in-law is the Managing Director of a fabrication company. They’re a second-tier sponsor - meaning they’re not branded on the kits, but they are everywhere else, such as the stadium - of a football club with an average attendance of 50,000 every week and the commercial commitment is basically a business development exercise. 99.9% of those in attendance don’t and never will require the use of his company, but the business they secure through treating their potential customers as corporate guests at training days, stadium tours and match days is unbelievable.

”There it is, Mr Customer; our company logo, slapped across the upper tier of a major football club’s stadium. Not bad, eh?”

I’ve met him twice and I know how proud he is of that, so I can just imagine how angry he’d be and how quickly he’d instruct his lawyers to take action, should his sponsorship be in speedway and his potential customer have gone ”the star player isn’t wearing it, though”.

I think you have made the point ,IMO they should have deducted 20 points and allowed  the fans to see probable the greatest rider the sport   has ever seen  as we know their careers can be over in the blink of an eye !
