Cardiff Attendance
big lebowski replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not new to Speedway, but for one reason or another - first trip to Millenium for GP - Absolutely awsome & what a fantastic result ! Sore throat from shouting for Chris Harris all night & deserved winner - how the hell did he pull that off in the last race ??? & ears still ringing, even now. Brilliant meeting. Do they publish the official attendance anywhere at all ? Even then, i guess we'd all be saying "yeah right - they won't publish the 'actual' attendance" ?unsure? -
& why the ? Was only asking

So can anyone enlighten me why James Wright was not selected ? If this is in another thread I apologise, just haven't spotted it.

El Riders Championships

Can't wait for ELRC at Sheffield. Haven't been there for years, but will definitely go to this. I agree that maybe chucking Compton & A.N. Other Sheffield rifer in would be a good idea. -
Andy Smith Testimonial
big lebowski replied to Rob B's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Notice the one big name missing from the line-up ? That's right - Andy Smith. He was on centre green at Belle Vue on Monday. Sure he said he'd fractured a vertebrae in his back ? At least that's what I thought he said. Gutted won't see him riding, but I'll be there anyway. Hopefully we will see him racing back in an Aces jacket next season. Great line-up. A good mixture of young & old & all good racers. Should be top racing & a great day. -

Meeting date as per the official Belle Vue website is 17th September. Can't wait for this one. Any supporters from Andy's other british clubs coming to this one? Anyone know the line up? -
Gp Qualifying Final
big lebowski replied to spook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agree with both points there DartfordHammer. Neither have qualified by right, so I would give the British GP wildcard to Harris on the basis that he did better in the qualifier (and he is a good racer). Crump has been awsome this year & despite some opinion is a brilliant team man. Have seen him virtually every meeting stood at pit gate when Wrighty has done well, waiting to give him a pat on the back. -
Gp Qualifying Final

Only an idiot would attack another poster for giving their opinion. Admittedly, Stead isn't good enough for the GP's. Should purely go down to who qualifies, regardless of nationality. Good luck to all who qualify. Andersen should give Crump a run next year, but I expect the Aussie Ace to make it title no.3, but then I guess some would say 'Ahh yes but that's only 'cos TRick isn't there any more', -
Fair points, one and all. What's the betting the 'powers that be' come up with something totally mad as usual.

Ok. I'm sitting down with the sky sports / benfield people. Which Brit should we throw a lifeline to for next years GP series (assuming Nicholls auto qualifies). Harris & Stead could qualify by right (though I doubt it in that company). So we could have Harris, Stead, Richardson, or ex-world champ & top racer Loram. Hmm, tough call - NOT !!! Get Loram in NOW even ! Will he be world champ again? not likely, but good GP's for TV with him in the races - Definitely.

Agree - If Crump is injured & misses a few rounds then it would permit Andersen to challenge for the title

Team Gb & Middlo Call Up Havvy
big lebowski replied to stressed's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And Joe Screen What does that comment mean? If it was that Joe shouldn't be there, then take a look at the averages. Having a very good season. IMO. Sry - Not got hang of this quoting lark yet. E minus - Must do better. -
Looks fairly balanced the teams first posted. Think they'll let us use Crump & Adams - No probs not! Hehe.
