Just seen the clip of the crash between King & McGurk.

    1) how on earth can the referee award that race when Batchelor & Knudsen were virtually level

    2) why would you give the benefit of the doubt to the offending team (that Batchelor would have held on to win)

    3) if it was re-run, Redcar could've used IRR in the re-run & heat 13. So the innocent party (Redcar) was hard done by.

The only benefit of the race being awarded is King being paid for second place.

Wondered why Trigger was in Heat 13, does seem a strange rule and unfair on the team affected (Redcar in this instance)

Really nasty looking incident, hope Danny is not too badly hurt.

  2. Was out all afternoon and following via updates. Seems like a decent meeting. Well done to the Comets.

Bears having not much luck to start the season, losing both top riders in consecutive days isn’t great when the team hasn’t been firing anyway. Hopefully both lads are not too badly hurt.

Good return from Jonas but Edwards had a poor  return after a good night last night and I expected Bailey to score better to be honest.

Well done Scorpions, a good team effort all round and another maximum for MPT.  Nice to see Kyle finding his gating boots at last. Hope Wrighty is only battered and bruised after his awkward fall. Couple of issues, pity we were not allowed a lap of honour after heat 15, I am sure if the Bears won they would have been straight out there before any second half races. The carpark is a bomb site and needs sorting very quickly as well as the exit out.

No, they always wait until after the first second half race to let the winners do a lap of honour. Not a snub to Scorpions at all.

Car park is pretty treacherous to walk through in the dark, especially if it has been wet.

As a Scunny fan pleased with the points ,hope Charles is ok but let’s talk about the track . It was the worse I’ve seen for entertainment it was gate and go plus there was a lot of riders getting in trouble on bend 4  .

One last gripe why was the programme not correct ?? to much writing and changing names due it not been printed with a correct race card

New track man this year, track hasn’t offered much in terms ofgood racing the first couple of team meetings at least.

Like Boz said I don’t think the weather has helped and hopefully just early season issues.

  5. Another week where the Bears start well, then fade badly and lose. Bigger defeat than last week but probably more encouraging performance (if that makes sense?).

Meeting changed when Charlie, who only had one completed ride,  took a really awkward tumble over his handlebars and hurt his shoulder and Bears had to use IRR. The race he was injured in was turning into the best race of the night and his loss was too much for the inconsistent Bears to overcome.

Edwards, Bailey and Knudsen all showed much better flashes this week, which was encouraging but the team overall is still too hit and miss. King started well but faded and was poor when it mattered most.

Scorpions are a strong team with a lot of riders who like Redcar so I was expecting a defeat and given the circumstances it’s not all doom and gloom for the Bears. Crowd seemed significantly down from last week which is a worry although it was a bitterly cold night.

Commitment or choice to be in poland, about time a number 8 should be used to take all rides.

Well in this case Jonas had already signed for his Polish club and only signed for Redcar after TJ said he wouldn’t be fit to ride.

Probably makes the Bears stronger in this case, hopefully Connor can score some points after a difficult start for the Bears.

  7. First of all well done to the Comets on a fully deserved win after a really poor start. Rode like a team thy wanted to show those who had written them off that they were wrong.

Really impressed with the new riders, Zischke in particular and Liebmann showed she deserved to be riding at this level. Hope she’s ok after her fall.

For the Bears it was a worrying performance , both Wright and King were not at their very best and the rest of the team look inconsistent. Yes it’s very early in the season but think we could be in for a tough year even at home.

Good race track, good few racers on show so given the right weather should be an entertaining meeting. Once again a new track for the Comets newbies to get to grips with soon as possible. Score wise it's hard to call  for me personally but the Bears obvious favourites. Always enjoy my trips to the ECCO Arena, it will be great to cheer on my home town team there for the first time since 2018.

Agree, Bears favourites , no idea on the score but think it could be close.

Looking forward to seeing the new Comets riders, might be a new track for a few of them but Celina has ridden here before and Zischke and Vuolas will soon get dialled in as most away riders always do.

For the Bears a first home team meeting, need Bailey and Mulford to improve from their performance at Scunthorpe, where they were both well off the pace.

  9. Comfortable win for Scunthorpe, who will take some beating at home when they all click. Allen and Ablett particularly impressive.

Only Wright and Edwards (and to a lesser extent Trigger) were on the pace for Redcar and the 3-4 pairing looks very vulnerable (as suspected). But it’s early days and hopefully they improve.

Agree about Schlein thought he was very good but Roynon’s questions were often longer than the replies!

It'll take a lot of improvement from the bottom 5 to get Redcar into the play-offs imo. They certainly have potential, can they realise it?

Good fixture to start with before the serious stuff starts.

    Think that’s fair.

The bottom 5 all have plenty of potential and for the Bears to be near the top they all need to up their averages.
