  1. To be honest I don't think its about stopping anyone coming into this Country, its about employers understanding the rules, and it looks like the people running Speedway teams in this Country, don't understand them, and it looks like from now they will need to understand them, it seems that a dog is not just for xmas, applies to Speedway riders from none EU Countries, you may think you have him for one year, but it all depends on how long the riders Visa last for, if its a three year one, then your stuck with him, unless you let them know, and re-apply to change it.
  2. What we haven't got enough rider to make one all British team ?
  3. I think the clubs must take the blame for this, looking at the ruling, when a rider signs for a club on a three year visa, he must stay with that club, you can blame the clubs for not understanding the criteria for a visa, when signing riders from Australia and the USA..
  4. The problem with some people, because a player's not white, there not from this Country, your right SCB, the Country they play for maybe third rate, but they still qualify, how many Australian speedway riders in the EL and PL, ride for there Country.
  5. Lets get this straight, do a club sign a rider, then apply for a visa for him, or do the rider apply for a visa then join a club, when we know the answer to that, we will know who is to blame. You have to ask yourself why are there less British riders in the sport now, and if you don't know the answer to that, your not paying attention, when you let sportsmen from all sports come into this Country, without any form of control, you get whats happening now, that Countrys sportsmen will suffer, you will get less and less has the years go on, at some stage someone with half a brain behind a deck in charge will see that, like this year, and do something about it, Speedway is at the bottom of the pile, has sports go in this Country, and it now seems, that is where they are going to start, when a team bins British riders in favour of riders from other Country's, then they must take some of the blame for what's happening.
  6. My point is we make it to easy for them to come over for seven months of the year, jump into a job, that in fact a British subject can do, is it not.
  7. I wonder what Australia's immigrations criteria is on British Subjects going to there Country and working for seven months of the year, then going back home.

    Plymouth 2015

Very true Shads, if he was he would in a PL by now. I agree Mike, very bad decision. All the spotlight is on the Australians coming over, they should be looking at other riders that come over, and do nothing, just take places that young British lads could take, riders like Nielson and Dilger will always be PL reserves, they should be looking at riders like them to, I don't disagree with them saying that they are taking jobs that British lads could take, but there are other riders from other Countrys doing the same thing, whats the difference what Country they are from, if that's the policy they are taking, some of the riders I have listed, are just taking in my opinion, places that British riders could do, and not be any worse. Alex Edberg 3.85. Victor Palovaara 3.00. Max Dilger 3.04. Rafal Konopka 3.00. And even Jan Gravensen 4.14, who does well at reserve, but cant hack when he has to go into the main body of the team.

    Plymouth 2015

This is a comment in the local Plymouth paper by Lee Trigger the Devils team manager. Plymouth Devils' boss Lee Trigger has high hopes for Jack HolderBy HeraldSport | Posted: January 13, 2015 Devils Comments (0) TEENAGE Australian prospect Jack Holder will not be fazed by following in the footsteps of his older brother, Plymouth Devils’ team manager Lee Trigger insists. Jack is the younger brother of former world champion Chris, 27, who secured his title in 2012 and is still riding in the UK’s top speedway tier with Poole Pirates. The younger Holder, however, will not be concerned over the obvious comparisons which will be drawn between him and his older sibling. It is his first foray into UK speedway after winning a string of titles in his native Australia. Trigger said: “Jack’s the brother of Chris Holder and he knows what his last name is – but he’s called Jack and not Chris. “In my view, Jack will give us 100 per cent and he’s the brightest young prospect to come out of Australia, if not the world, for some time.” Holder’s arrival is not entirely sealed down yet, as Premier League Plymouth are waiting for a final clearance from immigration authorities, although Trigger is fairly confident that nothing will go wrong. In fact, Trigger nearly did not land his man at all because he was heading elsewhere, to one of Devils’ neighbouring rivals. Trigger said: “Jack’s application to come into this country and go to Somerset (Rebels) was rejected because, as it turned out, Somerset didn’t sign him. “He’s not going to Somerset now, so his application to work over here has been renewed for Plymouth. “He was going to come over to the UK last year, but he didn’t because he wanted to finish his apprenticeship in carpentry, so he’s obviously got his head screwed on, because he’s got a trade behind him.” Jack is also brother of James Holder, who briefly rode for Devils during the reign of ex-chairman Mike Bowden. Trigger said: “The good thing is that James, who works over here now, will be helping Jack from time to time with his mechanics. “James obviously knows our track from his time here and he’ll be helping Jack when his job allows. “And Jack will be staying with his brother Chris in Dorset, so it won’t be too far for him to come for meetings.” Trigger made it clear he was keen to get the young Australian to Plymouth. He said: “I heard that Somerset weren’t going to register Jack on December 19, and on December 19 I was on the phone to his brother Chris to see if we could get him to Plymouth. “I have been talking to Jack lots and lots and we have pretty much nailed down a deal which is fair to both parties for him to come here. “I’m hoping nothing goes wrong with the red tape, because that’s really all that’s left to sort out. “It’s just a question of waiting, although I can’t see any reason why it shouldn’t happen. “It’s not just going to be a question of him coming here for a year, then leaving for the benefit of someone else, either. “I am going to have first option of signing him again for another year after that.” Read more: http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Plymouth-Devils-boss-Lee-Trigger-high-hopes-Jack/story-25848186-detail/story.html#ixzz3OoyG1fWA Follow us: @heraldnewslive on Twitter | theplymouthherald on Facebook

Plymouth V Somerset Saturday 21st June

Did you go to the Plymouth v Somerset meeting, if you look at the updates for the Somerset v Glasgow meeting, from the first 8 heats, 4 were ftg, so wouldn't you call that gate and go, all tracks you can blast around the outside, and have different lines, but you have to have the riders with the balls to exploit them, and on Saturday the Somerset lads did just that at the SBA.

Plymouth V Somerset Saturday 21st June

I don't agree with much lewy says, but your no better, pot, kettle, black, your right about Lemon, but that's all, and for your information, we have won a meeting NOW and AGAIN. Wouldn't we all like to know mate, will never happen, Plymouth were no angels when they were just starting in the CL. Spot on mate, and Garry Spiller is left to pick up whats left, he had no say in the team, great way to let your team manager run the team he didn't pick himself, and he's working hard to sort the shambles out.

    Kent V Devon 16/6

Why would James Shanes want to leave Plymouth, he has already had a run out in the Plymouth PL side, what makes you say he is kicking his heels, when you haven't got a clue whats going on with him at Plymouth, he has both Seemond Stephens and Mark Simmons helping him.

Plymouth V Somerset Saturday 21st June

I'm just glàd he didnt come back to us, to be honest, I with the Plymouth management would be more cut throat like Somerset are. And they all lived happily ever after at Somerset, a model for all clubs to follow.

    Perry To Plymouth

I agree, but I would rather stick with Roland Benko at reserve, it would be a bit silly of the club to bin him after him riding in the main body of the team for two months, then when he goes to reserve, bringing in another rider, when the overall plan was for him to ride at reserve, when he got his cma.
  16. There is Swedish EL speedway on British Euro Sport 2 this Tuesday 6pm start, if anyone is interested.

    Devon 56 Scunthorpe 28

I agree with you about the Verge decision, on two counts, the first one, it should have been stopped earler, because Shanes was right on top of the lad before the referee stopped it, and two Danno Verge was still infront of Danny Stoneman when it was stopped by the referee, by about two to three bike lengths, I think the problem with Mogridge, and he is a good rider, is he gets out infront for about two and a bit laps, then makes mistakes allowing the riders behind to pass him, but the two Scunthorpe riders that impressed me was Danno Verge and Sam Chapman, both looked very easy on the track, because it can take riders a few heats to work it out at the SBA, and I just think the two lads need track time, like most of the young riders like them do.

    Perry To Plymouth

James Shames will have a hard few days coming up for the Demons in the NL, so I would not expect him to figure in the PL side in the next few weeks.
