  1. I'm going, though to be honest if I had not already paid for the tickets I wouldn't be bothering. I am pretty down on speedway at the moment to be honest, the missus says she is not going even though she has a ticket, so I will probably have one spare if anyone wants it. Regards, Martin
  2. We came into the Poole area and won I recall! Happy new Year, Regards, Martin
  3. I just came back to this thread staight after leaving it, in the belief that I had previously been accidentally looking at the KL thread Not a joke, I really did Regards, Martin
  4. I should have put "last season" instead of last year, you make a good point but if it was Trump and Pratt who were the perceived problem then the sig would surely not have changed during last season (and it did) as those two gentlemen were still on the roster of promoters come the recent AGM. Indeed Colin Pratt was on hand I am told at the recent "show of support" at Brandon along with Sandhu. Still the possibility of Trump being the issue CC was referring to in his sig, but it changed way too early for that, as we all know he was still there. Regards, Martin P.S. I'm sure Colin Cooke will put us right
  5. Ok so re-read my post substituting "Coventry do" for "he does" and you will get the simpler point I was making. Regards, Martin
  6. Or possibly the BSPA realise he does have a case of some sort and between the parties they have decided that some form of negotiation/mediation would actually be better for the long term. Just a possibility, but if you thought that you would lose in court would you not try to negotiate a settlement, I think I would. Regards Martin
  7. That's an old sig from last year, the "sorting" was changing the team line-up I believe, I'm sure Colin will correct me if I'm wrong Regards, Martin
  8. Do you ever contribute anything other than a cheap shot? Regards Martin
  9. I had noticed, I guessed he would, that is part of the reason I posted it, I try not to post my opinion as fact. I don't post "facts" unless I have seen evidence and I figured this would show Shovvy up doing just that. As for the post earlier calling for this thread to be locked, why? Surely the fact that this one is clocking up so many pages shows that people are still interested in posting, is not the point of a forum to express ones opinions. There will almost always be some wandering off topic, that surely is part of the enjoyment. If all that anyone posted was bald facts, then it would just be another news site. I just wish people would post opinions as opinions and not as hard fact, it's not a lot to ask. Regards, Martin
  10. I'm not attatching blame to anyone but you are wrong again Steve. Look at the directory on the Bees website, please do try to get your facts right if and when real facts are available! Club owner Avtar Sandhu Co-Promoters, Colin Pratt, Alun Rossiter and Allen Trump. Regards, Martin
  11. Some people find taking someones word at face value easier than others, personally I will be happy when the first week in January comes to an end and we finally get to hear what is happening. Whatever that happens to be. Regards, Martin
  12. That's what I was told,(not from the forum) that the Bees promotion were taking turns to sit in if that is the term and at the time of the walkout it was Trump who who was there and did the walking, mind you I can't actually remember who told me, so therefore won't claim that as absolute certain fact. Regards, Martin
  13. You keep batting on about the Bees trying to use Hans and Harris but you never back it up. If your sources are that good maybe we should all have access to their wisdom!! Others are being accused of the "I know something you don't" posting mentality and this fits precisely into the same category, as Ladyluck recently posted to CC, put up or shut up!! Regards, Martin
  14. Naughty, naughty Colin, don't taunt, maybe we should all be waiting a little more patiently, ahem, nudge Seasons greetings, Martin
  15. I hope I am not going to be labeled "pedantic" but the problem with the current system is the powerful in built conflict of interests. It may be as you say that the BSPA are looking after the best interests of the sport, that is certainly what the are charged with doing, but when a proposed change is going to adversely affect their own business then surely it is exceedingly difficult to deliberately shoot ones self in the foot by voting for it. Anyone in business is going to find this conundrum pretty difficult to reconcile when they are used to maximising their own business' interests. I guess that is why so many on here would like to see some sort of independent committee or commissioner to oversee the process of rule making. Seasons Greetings, Martin
  16. It has been mentioned on here several times that the current "asset" system would be likely to take a pounding if any serious scrutiny was applied to it. personally I would hope it would be , surely it would make sense to simply have fixed term contracts with riders, unfortunately though that idea comes to pieces because it could only realistically be one year terms due to the constant chopping and changing of team building limits. This is one of the reasons why I personally feel there needs to be a root and branch examination of the whole setup, if this winters shenanegens result in that then maybe it will at least have been partly worthwhile! Seasons Greetings, Martin
  17. Glad you will be logging on for your dailly dose of abuse Steve Have a nice time, I'm not jealous at all honest Seasons Greetings, Martin
  18. I would think that rules as set by a sporting body simply still need to comply with national and European laws on restriant of trade /contract law and that kind of stuff. I would imagine that this is why it was a competition specialist that was engaged by the Brandon promotion. Problem is for those outside the loop is that there is no way any of us can know any of the specifics until after a settlement or otherwise is completed, and even then I suspect we will be given very little detail. I suspect neither side will be wanting to be seen gloating or bitching too much as some attempt to rebuild bridges is going to be required and that kind of behaviour would have the opposite effect. Seasons greetings, Martin
  19. That follow up thread could be quite entertaining initially, just picking out those who are humble enough to admit they got it hopelessly wrong and those who disappear for a while Seasons Greetings, Martin
  20. Here we go again, and I don't mean just you. People are still spouting off as though they actually know exactly what is being demanded/negotiated etc. The only fact as far as I can see is that none of us actually know anything for certain either regarding the exact reasons for the reported walkout, or the exact nature of the current discussions. As for "the spin from Brandon that re admittance is a bolt on" or words to that effect, I haven't seen that myself, what I have seen is a message "hoping" to have some positive news, that doesn't sound like anyone taking anything for granted to me. Let's face it, it would be a little odd to enter any negotiations hoping to soon have some bad news to relate would it not!! Seasons Greetings, Martin
  21. I don't think I'm tying myself in knots , I just don't think the fact that talks are being held are actually that much of a cause for celebration, for sure I'm glad that something is happening and I hope things can be worked out and problems solved, but I will only have something to "go loopy" about if the talks have a positive conclusion, ie. Bees are back in business preferably in the Elite League. Merry Xmas, Regards, Martin
  22. Some were going loopy. I was certainly not. I posted in various places, not just on BSF that I will celebrate when there is something (concrete removed this word so as not to encourage contruction site gags ) positive and officially announced to celebrate! Regards, Martin
