  1. That was outstanding, absolutely light years ahead of anything in this country in all aspects.
  2. Embarrassing! Done with domestic speedway here, absolute shower of rubbish the 3 meetings I've been to this year, had enough.
  3. First visit to Poole for me, only my third meeting of the season, after poor viewing at Peterborough whilst there were still restrictions, and a dust bowl at Perry Barr in June, can't say i'm particularly enthused following the reports of Poole's track conditions on Wednesday, but probably the last time I'll see the Brummies assuming the inevitable happens over the winter, so hopefully we can put up some sort of resistance and keep it within 10 to make it somewhat enjoyable.

    Danny Ayres RIP

Awful news. You were a hell of an entertainer Danny, even more so in a sporting world now lacking in true personalities. Rest in peace.

    Birmingham Brummies 2020

Looks like Ashley Morris signing to be announced in the morning if the Twitter clue is anything to go by.

    Brummies v Eagles 07/08

Only meeting I'll make this season as I'm back over briefly from Canada, was concerned about the weather earlier in the week but it's turned out great, no excuse for the track not to be in great nick, two full strength teams and what should be a close, well fought meeting, thoroughly looking forward to it . Come on the Brummies!

Wajtknecht back, now that one is worth being excited about! Great stuff.

    Birmingham Brummies 2019

I don't mind not signing Hume, but having missed out on Flint and now signed Castagna to ride at reserve, and paying more for the privilege of him being a fairly worthless asset in all likelihood, I'm a little underwhelmed. Like the Morris signing but very meh about the other two at this stage. Good last 4 though will change that viewpoint around.

    Birmingham Brummies 2019

Very disappointed not to have Flint, hopefully we can get Jenkins instead.

    Birmingham Brummies 2019

Delighted to be back, definitely feels like the right move for the club, hopefully I can pick a meeting up when I come back to visit next year. I would steer clear of Hume, no talent issues but just can't trust him to stay healthy. Ellis, Bacon, Wajtknecht, Shanes and Flint I think leaves 6.65 for the last rider, I'd like to see that, plenty of scope for improvement in those 5.

    Birmingham 2018

Well with their latest social media post they have to be announcing moving up tomorrow surely, you wouldn't post that if you were staying put, would you?.......

    Birmingham 2018

Not for Birmingham it hasn't, they aren't the ones who announced they were moving up, that was the BSPA jumping the gun and they've had to rebuke it. Clearly they want to see what the make up of the NL is going to be before making that decision. But I sincerely hope we move up, without knowing the ins and outs of the finances, which is obviously the key, I feel like we have enough of a fan base to make the PL work, and it feels like it's time. We were shafted out of the EL because of a dodgy owner, rather than because it couldn't work if run effectively. All clubs should strive to go higher, and even more so one like us in a city like Birmingham. It's the right time for PL, I'd fear for our future more if we stay here, as much as the league has done good for us on our reformation.

Fixture shambles - An annual event

The answer isn't scrapping the playoffs it's ensuring teams get their fixtures scheduled and run well before the cut off date, which should be the end of August, and if they don't there should be serious consequences.

Fixture shambles - An annual event

Speedway in October is an absolute farce, we should only be riding in this month if we've had a historically wet summer. League programmes should be completed by end of August, playoffs done in September, no excuse for continuing into when it starts getting cold and wet, and even more so after a summer like the one just gone.

Cracking job Tai, best British rider ever, quality.

One Big League - Problem Solved

It shouldn't be about what Wolves, or Poole, or Belle Vue etc. want, it should be about what's best for the sport as a whole. Again, self-interest will just see the sport continue to decline.

One Big League - Problem Solved

So 2017, excellent, because that worked really well.
  18. Great job Woffy, pulled it out when he really needed to and that's why he's the best rider out there. Barring injury that should be that, too much of a gap for Polish interference to do it alone now...

    Ugh, that's a shocking result.

    Completing Fixtures

Why does it matter if the league finishes in August? If it finishes in October then you still have an equal amount of off dates inbetween, stretches your cash flow out a bit but if you're not riding then are your fixed overheads really that much? Surely by running more summer matches you'll get a bigger crowd than when it's cold, grey and miserable in the later weeks of the season?

    Birmingham v Kent

Very good meeting, ultimately a better result for Kent but that swing in points from heat 15 could be critical. First time I've seen Kemp, blimey, he is something else. Shanes outstanding, disappointing for Bacon with his bike issue, Greenwood is a good gater but is down in speed and probably worse is just riding completely the wrong line when he's been attacked, great ride from Davies to beat Hampshire and Embleton is definitely better than Sealey, but still not much to shout about from reserve. No doubt Hume and Flint back will help but we are still severely lacking at 2, 6 and 7 and that will ultimately cost us, either in not making the playoffs or losing to Mildy or Eastbourne in the semi final. Perks was a different beast last night, but just lost it at the wrong time in 15, Rowe deserved his haul, Thomas a little disappointing but I probably had too high expectations after his performance in the U21 semi earlier in the season. Spooner looked like a different person to the one who struggled to finish 2nd in a 2 man race last season, much improved. My last meeting at Perry Barr for a couple of years probably as I move to Canada before next week, hope to get to Leicester Sunday, but a good home farewell meeting for me.

Brummies v Plymouth NL Wed 25th July

I mean, there's got to be someone better than Jamie Sealey, right?
  24. CUFC_Brummie

    Birmingham Brummies v Cradley heathens

Shame to get so close, as said if only Greenwood had held off Edwards one of those times, but a draw is still a very credible result. Problems are still the same, there has to be someone better than Sealey right? And it's a shame to see Greenwood as he is, shadow of the rider he was when we first came into the NL. My first visit for a few months having been away, surprised no-one had mentioned how dusty it was? It was crazy that they didn't put more water on it in the second and third track grade, has this been the norm? Appreciate it's been hot on a frequent basis but has our access to water really been limited that much?

    Birmingham Brummies v Cradley heathens

Flint injured and Walker "ill", Brennan and R/R, should make it a bit closer at least.... Normally I would give this a swerve because of the farcical nature of it all, but having been away for 3 months and as I'm emigrating in 2 weeks time I better give it a go....
