Leicester Lions 2018

Surely that should have been done , before they made that rule about '1 over 8'. Talk about shutting the door after the horse had bolted......

Yep I agree.

The BSPA knew about this one over 8 rule well before the AGM imo. The Tenerife meeting was probably only to confirm the already agreed draft.

That being so I fully agree the powers that be should already have been well in advance on drawing up the list plus also the guidelines on what assessment would be given to overseas riders say under 21 who have never ridden in UK plus also what assessment for riders over 21 like Pieszczek who have never ridden UK.

Find it a bit strange that Leicester have signed 2 riders with no assessed GSA unless they re just taking a gung ho approach with the attitude fill in lower down the team as and went we have to.

Can imagine there are plenty of teams urgently awaiting what these assessed GSA's and guidelines will be for both older & younger overseas riders who may be considering UK.

Also are we to assume that riders who rode here 2016 or later will be assessed as per their last GSA such as Zagar/NKI/Woryna etc. That's without considering say riders who rode here last 2015 or earlier like Pawlicki/Zmarzlik & others. What also will be the cut off year for keeping a previous GSA.

Plenty of grey areas at the moment which is partly blocking promoters team building plans.

Vaculik has to be 8.00 at least. Pieszczek 7.00 at least.

Pieszczek will struggle imo. Never ridden British tracks before apart from KL so it will take him time to get to grips with the British circuits.

Different set up over here.

Pieszczek will have an assessed average of 7.00. Just like Przedpelski did and so did Lindback when we signed him for a short period.

I think Pieszczek will struggle most Poles do in there debut British seasons (Musielak and Woryna) to name a couple. Its a new experience for them completely different set up over here. Visiting tracks for the first time is not going to be easy when facing riders who have had years of experience on these tracks.

New Pole will be a 5 I think as never rode in GP and MV will be 8.5

The next two signings are crucial as we have possible No1 and potentially good 2nd string. Need good heat leader back up and reserves will be Josh Bates. The Bates family have obviously sorted the middle order out as have told Lasse and another 2017 Lion that they don't fit into current plans

Think you may be wishful thinking on KP at 5 but in a way hope you are right.

In effect that would mean any foreign rider under say 22/23 who have never ridden UK should also be assessed at 5. Also bearing in mind KP was a World U21 runner up in last couple of seasons.

Anyway we all CONTINUE to wait on the rider GSA's who rode prior to the 2016 season (we assume that is the cut off) and all these young riders around Europe who have never ridden UK, who promoters may want to take a leap of faith on. That's on top of senior riders like Vaculik who have never ridden UK but are proven GP riders.

5.00 not a chance the whole league would be fuming. Polish Ekstraliga rider who rides in the 1-5. Swedish Elitserien rider. U-21 runner up.

Will be assessed 7.00. Swindon wanted to sign Andersen they was told 7.00 last season. Przedpelski signed 7.00. Lindback signed for us 7.00. Not going to change.

Great ambition shown by Leicester and very encouraging for the league next year. Hope the other promoters show as much willingness to go out and sign good/promising riders.

Now, how do you block posters who confuse their opinions with facts?!

Piotr was an assessed 7 due to having ridden to a similar standard on fleeting appearances previously and he wasn't in GP's either.

Think standard has been set with the Lindback reassessment and in line with the Pawel assessment this year.

Unless they are going to make up the rules to suit again.

Which would see Vaculik and Pieszczek both on seven point averages. If so that's a very good start for the Lions' team building if they both are fully committed to the cause.

Vaculik is a GP rider which means 8.00 at least.

Hopefully any GP rider will be a minimum 8. Otherwise it's just a waste of time having any realistic rules.

From the success he has had in the past I would be amazed if its not at least 5 and it could be 7. Just going off Pawel P.

Great signings so far from the lions. Just a risk simply because neither have ever ridden in the UK.

Never ridden in a SGP nor a SWC. Shouldn't be 7:00. Sounds like a good signing, let's hope he turns up every week.

All these references from assessments made in the past is complete 'pie in the sky' logic. Bearing in mind our league is probably the weakest it's ever been, and the format used is far easier now for riders to score more, any references used in the past is well out of context.

All riders competing in the SGP, have to be regarding as the best in the world, and therefore anything less than accessed 9 would be an injustice. Those who are riding in the top Polish and Swedish leagues are also regarded as quality riders where an accessed 8 would be an accurate assessment of what they would bring to a team....

I've got no problems with teams signing quality riders, but for them to be allowed, using a unrealistic average, is insulting the integrity of the sport and fans... There is not a bigger turn off for fans than seeing some teams getting preferential treatment.....
