No probs. I started looking at Heats 13 & 15 after wondering whether any riders or teams dominated.  Overall, it's much of a muchness, reflecting that most of the "top" riders beat each other.  The biggest surprises were KL being much better than expected, and Wolves - despite their supposed home advantage - being much worse than you would think.

Excellent research. Many thanks for that.

I think Lewis can get the same in the main body of the team as he did at reserve. Also though i can see Proctor scoring the same at reserve as he did in the main body of the team. The team is built 3pts under the limit and this shouldn't be allowed.

Agree completely about the 3 points under remark. And they have the nerve to say that it is nothing about statistics! Over the course of a season, who do they think is likely to contribute most points? A rider with an average of 7, or one with an average of 4?

Wow that was quick. He didn't want to be there tonight you could see that. His gating in ht 13 was atrocious,he didn't want to start with the other 3.Proctor has to follow though.

How much i like Iversen i hope they aren't doing a deal with him,he seems to be going downhill pretty rapidly.I said at the start we should have had Lawson instead of Proctor hopefully that will follow.

I just can't understand all the negative comments on here!   ;)

To be fair the confusion created by the EDP was not the clubs fault as the situation was quite clear in the Lynn news but the ticket situation is really poor, and not just an issue with King’s Lynn which makes it even worse.

That's all right up to a point but if the Club was on the ball (City) they would have spotted the mistake/confusion and arranged for an immediate clarification. Better still, I insist with all press releases/items to be able to look at them first before they are released. Invariably, at least one correction/amendment is included. From a PR angle, the Club should have been all over this like a rash imho and they clearly were not.

2nd bend beer hut has hit the nail on the head.  Expect intial surge of interest for the opening meeintgs. Once everybody has seen whats on offer again , crowds will drop off.

Still not long to wait for the P. offs this season. :o

That's a good point. Avoid the bottom two places and you're in the play-offs. How inspiring is that?

That's fair enough. I must admit I stopped going to watch Ipswich Town Football club years ago as it was then £32  for a match day ticket and the entertainment level was appalling.  I hate to think what football costs to watch now. So it's all about what people think is a fair price for what is offered.

I go to Foxhall every meeting not just for the speedway but also the company and social interaction with mates which makes it a good evening out and breaks up the working week .

I can help you with the football question. My season ticket at Norwich for the coming season (already paid for) will cost me £18 per game. And that's for the Premier League, not League One (aka Division 3). "Mind the gap!"   ;)

yes I see your point and tbf the last time I was at King's Lynn the track was appalling.  Made for rubbish racing.

But also having the top riders on show does not guarantee  good racing.  I have seen more rubbish grand prix meetings than good ones over the years.

The bottom line is though do we want to have an evening out again or all sit in our living rooms as per the last 14 months and slowly stagnate?

I know the cost of admission is an issue for some and I fully understand it but as with everything in life if you feel its not value for money save your pennies and sit at home.

I fully intend to do so. :drink:        :t:

Some people moan at me for being negative on here but sadly what’s happened today with tickets sales and total lack of professionalism from the club sums up British speedway in a nutshell.
Fans taken for granted yet again .

Have to say that I fully agree having read the last two or three pages of this thread. You really couldn't make a better job of creating a shambles if you set out to do so. Is he going to ride or is he not going to ride? Are the tickets on sale or are they not on sale? Was it a misprint or not? And so it goes on! Is there no regard at all for the supporters (aka customers), the people who pay their money?

The differences these days are lack of top riders (chasing the big bucks of course) and lack of screaming, shouting, passionate fans (so many older, cynical, done that, been there, got the t-shirt people, younger people have other pastimes and can't be persuaded to otherwise) .......

Speedway has always been about those 4 guys on their motorcycles trying to win each race or help their team win a meeting. Has any rider got to the tapes and thought, right I'm gonna go for entertainment value in this heat, of course not. The entertainment comes from watching riders trying to pass one another and team riding one another.  Obviously the more skilled guys can make this happen so much easier than others ....... We mustn't lose sight of the skill and daring of any rider though, the majority of us wouldn't know where to start!!

All well and good but the majority of races involve no overtaking and no team riding but, time after time, it is a case of follow the leader. Entertaining it aint. The majority of us wouldn't know where to start, of course. Similarly, how many of us would feel confident and at home running about on a professional football field? Just a thought. It is very easy to belittle something.

With people like you taking every opportunity to knock British speedway, it’s little wonder it’s dying on its feet.

It's dying on it's feet because of the sheer incompetence of those running it and people who stubbornly refuse to recognise the obvious that has happened and is happening in front of their eyes. It's a bit silly to attempt to defend the indefensible.

But someone knocking it on a forum where only speedway fans are, is not the reason it's on its behind. Lets be honest,, how many people now don't go because what a poster has put?

I first went to the Firs in the early sixties. I no longer attend speedway because it has stopped being entertaining. It is inefficiently run (major league with just six teams) and the "entertainment" produced is very poor. There appears to be very little willingness to promote the sport with those in charge accepting that they have a fourth rate product. Numbers attending will continue to reduce with those who do actually turn up doing so out of habit and a misguided loyalty.

Stupid to compare our sport with bledy football with £Ms at their disposal!! If speedway was in the position they are we'd all expect something similar, UNFORTUNATELY it's not!!!!

I was merely responding to a "stupid" post that compared speedway with "22 fairies running up and down a field" (aka football). Have you ever considered the possibility that speedway may be in it's current state because of the "stupid" people who run it and the "stupid" people who willingly accept all the crap which is tossed in their direction?

Dont know how much it is to watch 22 fairies run up and down a field for 90 plus minutes but i would rather see 16 men risking life and limb every time

Next season's offering at the Carra has cost me £18 a game. You get a realistic discount for a season ticket in football, unlike speedway. For that I will see 19 games. The speedway product provides the prospect of being able to watch 5 other teams with effectively 15 minutes of entertainment in each meeting. The vast majority of races will feature a "follow the leader" pattern. The season's main aim for each team is to not finish in 5th or 6th position. If that is what floats your boat, fair enough. I think I am fairly certain where my focus will be.

Josh blew his number 1 engine in his first ride. Fair play, he attended the after meeting get together.

Lewis Kerr broke a primary and a rear chain.

Tofty broke a chain at the tapes in his first ride.

Riss tried a different engine in his first 2 rides, then went back to his usual engine.

Cookie sent his usual engine for a service because he didn't think he was riding tonight.

    Porsing looked dejected.

Cook, Kerr and TJ praised the track tonight.

Lynn looked like they wanted it more. And TJ was class tonight. Really fast.

Porsing has looked dejected for years
