Gb World Cup Team
colincooke replied to DarrenCook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well Orion there we're a team of apparent "no hopers" tonight that have won a place in the world cup final. How did they do it? Simply by being a team & taking inspiration from their star rider. So you see it is possible, & i certainly hope The Brits we're watching & taking heart. -
Elite League Pairs 08/08
colincooke replied to woofers's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
No matter how it was put mmmmethanol what was said in front of the Coventry fans there that had waited in the rain in Coventry for the bus to arrive as well others that we're there was utterly disrespectful, this rant is the sole reason for the decision. The organiser would've been very happy to run a trip had this been The Pairs as originally stated, but now that is not the case & the readies through the turnstiles will be going into his pocket Mr Dugard can jump for it. The new staging of The Pairs will see that trip instead, if feasible. It's a sorry shame it has come to this. ATB CC -

That is very Right Gem, as you know dad organises the coaches & it's his words that i quoted previously. Bob Dugard doesn't deserve the money of Bees fans after what he treated them to on 6 June, if he's struggling for money then tough he should keep his big gob shut. For the record, Bob isn't the only one & there is one certain individual up our way that has said far too much about certain events & it isn't Colin Pratt. -
Millenium Stadium Or Wembley Stadium ?

No brainer. The Wembley area is crap for facilities & Cardiff is..........well, as i said it's a no brainer. -

It is strange though that it's been quoted like that yet 5 days after the original Bees fixture we are at Lakeside, am i missing something here. -

I appreciate that Jenn, funny thing is if this had been the pairs the trip would've been a certainty, so, who is it that's really to blame for "Big Bob" missing out on a good crowd. Truth his Bob hasn't done himself any favours with Bees fans veiws, but then neither have the men in their Ivory Towers. -

If the reason for this is that Dugard would like a bumper crowd for the Coventry meeting like he did last time then trust me, the way he treated the Bees fans with contempt with his ramblings last time out he'll be disappointed, this time there will be no coach trip. You reap what you sow old man -

Let's be honest. The OZ are gonna win this anyway aren't they so why not give the youngsters a shot at it?I take my hat off to Lyon for sticking to his guns. Richardson will be in the team at Leszno, he is by far the best Brit in Poland, but as for Scott who knows, the way Lewis was talking last night didn't suggest Scott would be in. -

I agree that Scott should not be in at Peterborough it's not a good track for him even when his form is good. King is a surprise, but he did well for them at home last season so i know where Rob Lyon is coming from. Both Scott & Rico should be in for Leszno. -
Janet, i certainly hope you weren't dancing on the coach.

I agree Wembley Lion. Holloway was a disgrace, even more so than the 2 riders. -

Nearly 3 & a half hours to run this meeting, not good at all, especially in the sweltering heat. OK i can appreciate that incidents happen, but the time between each incident was unacceptable, no wonder The Wasps are struggling for crowds if this is the norm. A word to the wise Mr Mallett, respect the fans. I have to say though that i partly blame the ref for not having stricter control of it. The track had really suffered with the heat, the blue grooves on each bend we're the worst i've ever seen. 1 plus from this meeting was Jonas Anderssson, impressive & i take it that performance will gain him a contract, shocking decision to exclude him. Also good to see OUR Jordan get on the rostrum after being bashed about more than most. -

From what i can see mate, the 1st verbal confrontation & the 1st nudge is from the spoilt brat, not by the pit gate but on the run back, but i respect some may see it differently. The spoilt brat's pit crew member didn't help matters by taking another swipe in the tunnel either. -

You're obviously not listening & veiws like yours are what is trying to cause a rift. It could clearly be seen that Scott was stopped from entering the pit gate by the spoilt little brat. Take of those blinkers pal. -

He didn't ride Emil into the fence at all, not during racing or the afters, Emil didn't like being beaten by him simple as that & it was he that shoved him by the pit gate & took the first swipe. Though i have to say it was more my handbags better than yours than a punch up. Just a question? Why do you think Emil has had the larger fine slapped on him? -

The only reason Stoke aren't in is cos Compo had a bad start to the season, Bunyip is gutted. -
As Trees as said togetherness has to start somewhere & it's not as if The Danes, Poles etc don't do these team get- togethers & photo shoots as well. Have to say though, why is Bomber the only one not smiling.

After last years racefest this one is the must meeting for Friday, traffic jams or not. Newport fans need not despair, The Welsh Open is another definite. -

I think you may be forgetting Sandie, at Poole they've only just learnt what British is & the coffers haven't stretched that far yet, they'd rather pay for a Dane. Agree though, bad show. -

[quote name='Gemini' date='May 20 2009, 11:47 PM' post='1493349 I do hope no-one bothers to bite on that one as it's just not worth commenting on. I quite agree Janet but unfortunately some have, geez did i say that . I can just see Mr Shovel now, sitting on the river-bank on his little fold up stool with his little fold up table & his lap-top in one hand & fishing rod & maggots in the other. -

A few words on Scott meself, being interveiwed by Jonathan he looked totally down in the dumps, seems to me he needed that interview, so nice one Greenie for letting him get it all off his chest. Those 1st 3 rides though showed that Scott is in need of following Hans back over here, as did the semi. Rico was in superb form but showed he lacked bottle when the chips are down, no change there. Edward was an absolute star, how he got his head under Bomber's elbow defies gravity.
