  1. I think it's 30 August. But I will confirm that.

It would be nice if both we're commemorated. Sep 11 too.

I'm reading the book now norbold but only just got to the end of his Brandon days.

I' found it fascinating how he struggled early on to stay aboard his machine whilst he perfected his amazing talent.

Many of the greats found this too, including, more recently Billy Hamill.

  2. At last a GP that does the wide spaces of Leszno justice. :approve:

Thank you Mr Tony Olsson for allowing the guys that do the track get on with it, take a bow & long may that precedence continue.

For once i can say i enjoyed watching a Grand Prix.

Nobody really dominated this meeting, which made it all the better entertainment wise.

Have to say though, Jason's move in Heat 10 was pure class.

Loving it, loving it, loving it.

  3. I can understand the comments being made; it is always strange to read Coventry fans telling me to back Harris regardless, but the same confidence is, and has never, been afforded to Rory Schlein. I am absolutely sure that Harris would have had far more praise for finishing 2nd than I can see for Rory on here. I hope the fans will give him a break this year.

There are some of us that have understood that it has been a tough few years for Roo, with the injuries.

I'm still certain that with an injury free season he can become an 8+ rider this year.

FWIW, there we're the ups & downs of Roo's form on Sunday & it all came good at the end.

  4. The general concensus here seems to be that this was a long drawn meeting & for someone who had to be up at 4am to get to work i have to agree, Swindon didn't take 3 hours to run 23 heats on sunday did they.

The track was very tricky in the wet but i take my hat off to Mick just to get this meeting on.

Later on there we're some good races & Hans & Bomber looked very comfortable going into the final.

Matej Zagar was my tip for the win, he just didn't look interested.Nicki didn't have any e/fs at all, they we're just pull up's when last a la Gollob.

The tangle in the final between Roo & Jason was just an unfortunate incident caused by deterioriating conditions at that time, as was Bomber's slide off.

I have to mention Eddie cos he was looking fantastic, particularly that sweep round Crumpy, so unlucky.

To conclude, a shame a meeting i was very much looking forward to was determined by the the weather & a lack of need for urgency at Brandon that has become all to common these last few seasons.

BTW. The right man won.

  5. We've just had a rain shower here in Coventry, as was expected, looking at the pics the track seems to have held out well, FTM is the top man & will be flat out for this to be on.

A real shame about Holder, there goes my prediction for the final. :(

Still looking forward to this immensely, Adams is as good a replacement as you could hope for in the circumstances.

  6. Looking forward to this now. Can't wait to see King Matej carve Crump + Pedersen to pieces B)

Funnily enough i seem to remember that in his meetings for The Eagles, Nicki never expressed Brandon as 1 of his favourite circuits, i reckon he may have to play second fiddle this time. However, a Nicki victory would be proof fair he really is "smoking".

    I reckon

    Zagar

    Crump

    Holder

    Pedersen

    as the final

  7. Hi folks there are conflicting weather reports going around re Friday .

I will be up Brandon from 10 am looking after what at the moment looks a very good surface so I will get my wife to post on here various times during the day what we are getting and when we are getting it.

Keep all fingers crossed cos I ,m fed up getting gee,d up for a meeting and getting peed on from about 3 pm

    cheers F.T.M..

    Good show, Michael.

let the gee-ups be rewarded. :approve:

  8. Crikey, it's a good job you've never whinged about anything.

If there's something that happens for definite to actually whinge about mate. :D

Let me put people right on a few things.

I guess folk we're expecting AJ, Greg & the mad Russian yes.

Well do you think they weren't asked, so obvioiusly there are perfectly legit reasons why that isn't possible. That's life.

So we have 1 guy that came to brandon in 2007 & his inclusion lifted the team to the treble, another Aussie that has good meetings at Brandon on occasion, A dane that always puts himself about & one of the best Polish prospects around, is that so bad.

  9. Meeting was fast & furious yesterday, which is more than i was cos i got a flattie before i even left Coventry.

Nicki really deserved this & looks to be up for regaining his title from the off.

I'm well impressed with Kasper after seeing him in 2 individuals now, don't underestimate Lakeside if he's in this form.

Shame Bomber's fall cost him a place in the semis, but there you go.

A fitting tribute of a meeting for Mr Kilby :approve:

With regard to Clive Fisher, those errors we're unforgiveable despite the apology.

  10. I don't care if anyone thought this was a poor meeting, it was a enjoyable day out with lovely people to meet & freinds to enjoy it with.

The cause was far more important than anything anyone thinks & some of you here don't even care to mention it.

That unbecoming British trait of moaning for the sake of moaning looms large once again, sad people

Sunday 14th March 2010: A lovely day @ Rye House, Thank you all.

  11. True enough it wasn't the best of meetings & with the dust in heat 1 i thought good god here we go.

Thankfully the dust at least was controlled.

Nice to see some racing at last & a pleasure to say hello to Zonkers & get uncle len's book signed.

Many layers of clothing we're consigned for the cold today yet they weren't required, hoorah.

Getting the coach over the bridge was......................... interesting.

All in a good cause & well done to everyone, nice to hear Garry Stead say a few words. :approve:

  12. Have been put on a downer now after reading the last 3 pages of this thread....! Talk of drunken disorderly behaviour with no policing.....riders not being able to get in to the stadium due to the roads being grid-locked....etc ! Blimey ! And to think my only concern up to now has been where to park, and whether I'll be able to get a seat or not !

i think everyone is forgetting what this meeting is all about Zonks, ignore it!!!
