  2. Hooray!!!!! Let's hope everyone is now happy!
  3. All announced "shortly" according to this from the BSPA site: http://www.speedwaygb.com/news.php?extend.5975

    Joe Owen

Let's not confuse things eh?? 85 not 95!!!

    Joe Owen

They have got the year wrong! Louis Carr & Joe Owen won the Pairs in '85. '86 Pairs Champs were Les Collins and Doug Wyer for Edinburgh.

    Joe Owen

First of all it was Birmingham vs Ellesmere Port (not Newcastle as stated above). Joe was riding for Ellesmere Port at the time and it was 1985 not 1986. As far as Tom is concerned, he has his own Plant Hire business (also races pigeons I think!), which is doing very well. Also Tom's daughter (Emma) is married Mark Lemon.

    Red Star Prague

The 1976 (I think it was '76!!) team that rode at Newcastle included Jiri Stancl (George's dad), Peter Ondrasik(Pavel's dad), Lubos Tomicek and the two Verner brothers. I used to have the programme, but gave it to George Stancl a while back and can't remember, off the top of my head, the other riders!

    Speedway Stories In Boys Comics

After a search on 'Google', there was a speedway story in 'Tiger' called "Tallon of the Track", which featured a female speedway rider as the main character. http://www.comicsuk.co.uk/Interviews/Scott...cottGoodall.asp

    Whats My Line

Correct - it was PC. During that bit Rory McGrath said to Gary Lineker "You used to go to Leicester speedway, didn't you Gary?" and Lineker admitted he had been "once or twice".

    Unforgettable Speedway Names

Always thought Martin Scarisbrick (Newcastle) and Graham Tattersall (Barrow) had wonderful names.

  12. There would be a British rider in it - as the Wild Card for the hosting nation.
  13. I wonder what the BSPA's excuse will be that there was only 15 riders in the 'most prestegious individual event' in the so-called best league?? Time to scrap this farce of a meeting.
  14. According to good ole Wikipedia he is 83. Pleased for Lemo that it sounds a great success. He has helped turn the Diamonds' season round since joining us.
  15. I don't think so. I believe he has to ride a certain amount of matches to qualify (having said that, I have no idea how many that is!). Maybe someone can enlighten us on that one!
  16. One each from the 14 teams in the league + the next best two in the averages (Topinka and Kramer) to make the 16 rider field.
  17. We were told tonight at Newcastle that Derek Sneddon had agreed to ride on Saturday and that Jason King had also been invited - but he wasn't 100% sure that he could do the meeting.
  18. They film the Coventry matches at Brandon, so one presumes they will be filming this too.
  19. Scunthorpe charge £11 - but everyone else charge between £13 and £15 (Birmingham being the £15).
  20. Two home legs for the Tiggers??
  21. Glasgow to the East of England Showground is 320 miles - just to let you know!!
  22. I agree. I also think they should bring back the Fours Qualifiers.
  23. Well done Workington on winning the Fours again.
