    HATS OFF TO JASON DOYLE

Why is it a huge asset and an asset to who or what? I go and watch on average 2 meetings per week in the Championship and National League (i don't watch SGP either live or on tv) so whether the world champion rides over here or not means nothing to me and probably doesn't to many more speedway fans who watch their speedway in those leagues.

So exactly the same as every other rider who is riding in the UK this year or am i missing something?

    HATS OFF TO JASON DOYLE

I'll ask again then. What makes him more worthy than any other world champion?
  6. The 1966 World Cup match held at White City was actually on a Friday (15th July) because Friday was a regular Greyhound evening at Wembley. The next evening (Saturday 16th July) England played at Wembley.

    Bt Sport Coverage

Of course there is a bust point but these companies aren't stupid enough to reach that point. What they do is squeeze just enough out of people so they pay the maximum amount they can afford and continue with their subscription.

It would only be free if you got the broadband free.

    Bt Sport Coverage

Well they have to pay for all those footballers wages somehow. Speedway is a cheap sport for them to put on compared to football etc but brings in a some more subscribers and much needed revenue to pay for the sports they have to pay big money to put on.

    SCB and amatuer racing.

Someone's face fitting is much the same in road racing as it is in speedway and that's more to do with human nature than either of those sports. There are plenty of riders whose face didn't fit that have succeeded in their chosen sport and speedway is no different. Where anyone ends up in road racing is down to many things like dedication, sacrifices made and of course talent but being fast in road racing doesn't guarantee anything. I think you'll find that even if you were fast there would be plenty of things stopping you getting to Moto GP. Plenty of very fast riders never get beyond the club road racing scene.

    SCB and amatuer racing.

You can ride at more than just training tracks as an amateur. Scunthorpe, Buxton, Leicester, King's Lynn, Rye House, IOW etc all have amateurs ride there so you aren't just limited to training tracks. Once you have progressed yes you can ride in amateur meetings and most in my experience are sanctioned by the SCB. Why would anyone who is an amateur (unless a youth rider) get track time after a professional speedway meeting? That would be like asking if you could have a kick-about after a Premier League football match at Old Trafford. On saying that if you can ride a speedway bike well then it may be possible to get a second-half ride if you have potential to get into a league team and i've seen it done. The problem is that many (not all) amateur riders think they are better than they actually are. As for development leagues they should be limited by age so young riders get a team place and the teams aren't filled with 30+ age riders with no chance of ever developing into a league rider. There is a lot wrong with speedway but the amateur side of the sport has never been healthier and there are far more opportunities now for an amateur to rider a speedway bike than ever in the history of the sport.

    SCB and amatuer racing.

Amateur speedway has never been more popular and there are more opportunities to ride a speedway bike now than in any time in the history of the sport. You can buy a speedway bike and some secondhand equipment and be riding within days. Try that with road racing where almost any decent road race bike and clothing will cost more far more then you need to get a licence to race then practice which is anything from £95 for a day with limited track time then enter your first race which will be around the £200 mark (£400 if it's a weekend meeting and you ride both days) for a few rides. Take that plus the tyres you are going to need etc into consideration and you'll soon see how cheap and accessible speedway is in comparison.

    Speedway Noise

At what tracks where they run both sports have they had complaints about speedway and not stock cars? The cases i know of where the two sports run the noise complaint has included both.

Credit to all the riders who support it but then why would any rider not support something that is potentially for the benefit of every rider?

This forum is mostly for 'experts' from the other side of the air fence. I'd try on of the facebook pages. Just search 'speedway tips'.

    Peterborough Panthers 2018

Yes. Many people forget that a lot of neutral speedway fans attend meetings like the 4TT and i think that i'ts the clubs duty to the sport to put out the best riders available. Still on the bright side at least the image of the sport hasn't suffered as it couldn't get any lower and that's not all the fault of the BSPA/SCB. Sometimes clubs and fans need to look nearer home for the problems speedway creates for itself.

    Peter Collins Article

It's always nice to hear an ex-rider on the centre green when there is a delay in racing but most people can't be bothered to listen in my experience. Although i stand with ex-riders to watch speedway at one track i do it because they are a good laugh rather than anything to do them being ex-riders. I don't know if you've ever been in the pits during a meeting but unless an ex-rider was a mechanic or a mentor of a rider the last thing a present day rider would want is an ex-rider bending their ear. Somehow i can't see that going down too well.
