Just one last point about riders refusing to race if they're not happy with the track ? riders these days seem very fickle to me...

Kenny Carter never complained....just got on with it....even won a British Final on a rain soaked track at Brandon...'with a broken leg'....lifted on and off his bike before/after each race!!!

Just makes me laugh when I think of Redcar the other night.....

Yeh what was Jordan Stewart thinking...he should have strapped that spinal stretcher board he was laid on onto his bike and just got on with racing...tish fickle or what?...

  2. From Ben Duffill on Facebook:
    ‼️ STOLEN - PLEASE SHARE ‼️
Early this morning, professional speedway rider Ryan Kinsley had his van stolen from the Sporting Lodge hotel in Stainton, Middlesbrough. The van contained 3 speedway bikes, protective equipment and various tools.
Ryan races for the Redcar Bears Speedway team and these bikes and tools are his profession. Without them, he cannot continue with his career.
Ryan’s van was found dumped in Hutton Rudby this morning. All of his equipment and tools were missing.
Speedway bikes are bespoke machines that:
❗️Cannot be raced ANYWHERE but a speedway track. They have no brakes and only turn left.
❗️CANNOT be sold as they are easily identified on the speedway circuits and are not useful to anyone but a speedway rider.
Attached are pictures of Ryan’s bikes. Please share this post far and wide, to help with the safe return of these bikes and his racing gear. The lad is devastated, as this will be the end of his racing career if the bikes are not returned.
Please help to have these bikes returned safely.

    astonishing isn't it.

imagine Coca-Cola sales plummenting and their Marketing Director suggesting they solve the problem with a new advertising campaign.  the slogan "Coca-Cola if you stop drinking it we'll stop making it!" Genius.

Been happening at Newcastle for decades now.  As much as it's a shame speedway just isn't sustainable in Newcastle. Brough Park is an expensive millstone which is too costly to allow the club to operate at a lower level and lower crowds and, lets face it, doesn't produce a great deal of exciting racing in the modern era.

Speedway in this country reminds me of loads of those TV shows that viewers lost interest in after season three but are still churned out year after year until inevitably someone realises that nobody is watching anymore. The trouble is that those making the show are having a great time making it.  They just never realise that watching it is nowhere near as entertaining as making it.  I think it's called lack of self awareness.

    Listen to the fans
