Absolutely superbly run meeting, the track the best it's ever been, the announcer slick and professional ,covid measures spot on and great racing from fully committed riders who looked to thoroughly enjoy themselves a credit to all concerned.

Plymouth Gladiators are on a upward spiral!

Anyone in Forumland  see  all three , Cyril, Bert and Bob ride. I didn't see any -although starting in 1964 just missed out on Cyril. How would you rank them-maybe Cyril #1 , guess Bob had a bad accident which cut his career short. Would be interested in any memories.

I saw Cyril & Bert ride for Poole as a boy of 7 years old in 1956 but cannot really remember it also I recall Bob riding for a Swindon B side at Poole in I think 1961 when he just a shadow of his former self after suffering a fractured skull  at Poole in 1958, trying a an unsuccessful comeback . In those days I followed when I could  Southampton where Cyril was a very good second string. I would rank them Cyril, Bob & Bert

500 people in Prague wouldn't pay any bills, much less the TV costs,  and would require riders to leave Poland which, even without quarantine restrictions, would not go down well with a possible league match the previous Friday or following Sunday.

Much of the above also applies to Vojens. Despite probable FIM protestations, a mini-series of eight rounds in Poland still seems the most likely and practical solution. Hopefully, followed by the SON in Manchester.

No problem with 8 rounds in Poland but do not call it a world championship because it would not be.

Do you mean Poole Council as they are the stadium owners.

Gaming international only lease the stadium and sub lease to the speedway, the owners were the Poole council who have supported speedway through think and thin. What is worrying is that Poole council no longer exist now that Poole, Christchurch & Bournemouth have merged into to one known as BCP. I hope that the new authority has the same attitude to the sport, I am very concerned  this might not be the case, hope I'm wrong

  6. It used be 16 riders 20 heats top points scorer wins ( with run offs if needed) ,then along comes the GP's with A,B.C & D finals followed by various tweaks including the ill thought out knock out system. After a few years we went back to 16 riders 20 heats this time with semi's and a final , the top scorer over the season is world champion, simples. I can see no reason tor another change, we do not need to come into line with other motor sports because speedway is unlike any other, 4 riders 4 laps 60 seconds and it works
