Plymouth Gladiators are on a upward spiral!

I saw Cyril & Bert ride for Poole as a boy of 7 years old in 1956 but cannot really remember it also I recall Bob riding for a Swindon B side at Poole in I think 1961 when he just a shadow of his former self after suffering a fractured skull at Poole in 1958, trying a an unsuccessful comeback . In those days I followed when I could Southampton where Cyril was a very good second string. I would rank them Cyril, Bob & Bert

Much of the above also applies to Vojens. Despite probable FIM protestations, a mini-series of eight rounds in Poland still seems the most likely and practical solution. Hopefully, followed by the SON in Manchester.
No problem with 8 rounds in Poland but do not call it a world championship because it would not be.

Gaming international only lease the stadium and sub lease to the speedway, the owners were the Poole council who have supported speedway through think and thin. What is worrying is that Poole council no longer exist now that Poole, Christchurch & Bournemouth have merged into to one known as BCP. I hope that the new authority has the same attitude to the sport, I am very concerned this might not be the case, hope I'm wrong

It used be 16 riders 20 heats top points scorer wins ( with run offs if needed) ,then along comes the GP's with A,B.C & D finals followed by various tweaks including the ill thought out knock out system. After a few years we went back to 16 riders 20 heats this time with semi's and a final , the top scorer over the season is world champion, simples. I can see no reason tor another change, we do not need to come into line with other motor sports because speedway is unlike any other, 4 riders 4 laps 60 seconds and it works
