  1. The respect I have for riders of yesteryear is second to none ,but how many would fit into today's world of speedway, Parker, Young, Moore, Fundin, Briggo, Knudsson , Mauger , Collins, Olsen, Lee, Gundersen , Nielsen, Penhall and many many others were all great riders but they all come from another era. The only one I think that could possibly that could compete with likes of today's GP stars is the original PC Peter Craven, his riding style would have suited present day speedway perfectly , and he rode a JAP imagine him on a GM. Peter was liked by everyone and would be a great ambassador for the sport now as he was in his time

  2. First and foremost Tai is a self employed businessman who has to make a profit from his business speedway, where he decides to ply his trade (Poland & Sweden) is entirely up to him. He was a fantastic world champion and promoted the sport at every opportunity he possibly could. As we all know any sportsman's career is a short one and they have to maximize their income at time when they at the top. How many people criticize footballers or F1 drivers when they move away from the UK?, for more cash or tax reasons. The problem is as I see it is that in Poland the sport is run as a play thing for wealthy businessmen who are prepared to throw money at their team regardless cost for their own prestige, just as major league football in the UK is , In Sweden as I understand it is run on a nonprofit making club system, neither way will work in the UK at the present time, do we want all the crowd trouble and segregation as in Poland, I think not.

It is hard for me to see the sport that I loved since I was 6 yrs old, in GB served up as second class but our time will come again, soon. Good luck to Tai in 2015
