Eastbourne V King's Lynn 05/07/14
sussex bulldog replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
After being a speedway fan most of my life I am shocked that fans are getting so nasty with opposition supporters. When Eastbourne closed in the 1990s I travelled to Kings Lynn every Saturday with my two young sons. We were made very welcome by the locals. I have always had a soft spot for Kings Lynn ever since. Eastbourne are in extreme danger of losing their speedway and need all the support they can get. -
Eastbourne V Poole 7pm (on Sky), Monday 30th June.

It seems that there will be no speedway at Arlington next year unless new promoters are found. At 72 Bob has had enough and Bellerby had indicated that 2014 was his last year. Bob has to cover a sizeable loss this year and I guess he is tired of all the flak. -
Unnecessary Delays Due To Low Sun ?

I can remember a previous incident at Arlington many years ago but agree they have not been common. -
Eastbourne V Leicester 31/5

Marc's engine seized in his first race and he was on borrowed machinery after that which obviously did not suit him. -
I can't see a thread for this. I gather that Eagles are without MM who is in under 21 competition. Could be another close meeting but hoping for all 3 points.

Eagles V Wolves 03/05/2014 7.30 Pm
sussex bulldog replied to sussex bulldog's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The first and second bends were re-shaped a few years ago when Jason Crump was still riding and he set the new track record which was equalled by Chris Holder but not beaten. Many top riders have commented on how good the track is to race on. JK said it was superb last night. I don't agree that races were won from the gate but were mostly decided by coming out of the second bend or just after. -
Good luck in your retirement from speedway Lukas. Hope you prosper in the family business.

Hoping that the weather will be better for this one. Are Aces bringing a full pack down to Arlington ? I think this could be much closer than the last two meetings but we should still get 3 points. -

It might have been mentioned somewhere else but I am curious about Stefan Nielsen. I am assuming that despite his name he is British. Could someone please tell me more about him ? -
Eastbourne V Birmingham 29/3/2014
sussex bulldog replied to Sophies Mate's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was dissapointed that Birmingham had three guests and in particular that Eddie Kennett was missing but I believe that the Eagles would have pulled off a convincing win even if the normal team had been there. The pundits have predicted that the Eagles will finish 9th. Perhaps they had their lists upside down ! I am really looking forward to this season. The Eagles have a great team and that includes the reserves. Play-offs here we come. -
Joonas Kylmakorpi Testimonial - Saturday 22nd March
sussex bulldog replied to Skidder1's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I was at Arlington and very dissapointed by crowd number but I guess this was down to the bad weather. I do not believe the track was up to usual standard but Bob and his crew worked hard to get the meeting on. There is a full report on live updates. -

Really looking forward to this but I guess it will be pretty cold as it usually is at this time of year and thermals are advised ! :-) -
Joonas Kylmakorpi Testimonial - Saturday 22nd March
sussex bulldog replied to Skidder1's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
It is surprising but it has generated a lot of publicity on facebook and I hope that a big crowd will turnout. It will be an opportunity to see some big stars as well as four of the 2014 Eagles, not that they are not big stars of course ! -
It does seem all wrong does not it ?

I can't see it mentioned anywhere else but it seems Jason Doyle has been refused a permit now.

What Now For Joe Screen?
sussex bulldog replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That accident at Kings Lynn whilst riding for the Eagles was horrific. A young first aider passed out when she saw Joe's bone coming out of his thigh. Joe was always a great racer and a good team mate and always had time for his fans. Hope whatever he does he is happy and prospers. -

I have subscribed to the digital version and it means I get mine on time even here in France -
Press release tonight so I guess we should then have the full team
-
Well it won't be Timmo has he has posted on Facebook that he is looking for a team for 2014.
-
Last rider not announced yet. My guess it will be Simon, Timmo or Kim. But it could be someone completely different with an average of 5.42
-
Yes I am delighted with the news. Depending on our last team member we could well be play off contenders !
-
Hopefully yes ! Press Day and Practice announced as March 15th so that is a start.
